Hi. I have bad breath problem. I consult so many dentist but all of them said that my teeth r perfect. Then I went to gaestrologist for my stomach check up as my mouth becomes dry so early and for check up that may be it is coming from stomach gases but they also said that your system is perfect. There is no problem. So I didn't understand that why it comes. Then I searched that it may be due to psychic reasons also. That now I think alot about it. So it comes. Please doctors suggest me something that is it right that I think alot about it and it comes all time due to over thinking. Nd if yes then please suggest some cure for it. I really need your help thanks.

Dear lybrate-user relax ,as you have already got your oral health check up done and clearance from gastro enterologist .now you said it is only psychological best way is avoid the feeling and follow normal course of maintaining oral hygiene brush twice followed by mouthwash regularly. Normal way to precautions are The embarrassing problem of bad breath can be cured through some simple means. Drink as much water as you can. It will help in keeping your mouth clean and refreshed. Also rinse your mouth with water after you munch a snack or drink anything; doing so will minimise the smell in your mouth. Use mouthwash You can carry a small bottle of mouthwash along wherever you go if the problem of bad breath is too severe. Rinse your mouth after every meal and before every crucial meeting or date. Mouth fresheners and sprays You can keep some packs of mouth fresheners and mint chewing gums in store, they always come handy. Mouth-freshening sprays are effective too. They help in controlling bad breath and leave your mouth smelling good. Citrus fruits fight bad breath Citrus fruits like oranges and strawberries aid in fighting bad breath. The vitamin C in them contains anti-bacterial properties and helps in eliminating germ build-up in the mouth. Chew natural mouth fresheners Fennel seeds, cloves, cardamom, basil leaves or mint leaves help restore fresh breath. The antiseptic properties in these ingredients help in curbing bad breath naturally.

I am suffering from gastric problem. I take medicine of gastric problem but it did not work so what I can do?

* firstly take your meals with proper chewing and do not be hurry in taking meals to avoid acidity after meals. * take less spicy food & avoid chilly in meals. * try to avoid stress. If you feel unable to avoid stress & extra thinking then follow meditation techniques. Sit in a calm & well airy room & do long breathing. Concentrate on your breathing. Do it for atleast 3-5 minutes twice a day. You can do anulom - vilom pranayam in the morning. It calm down your mind and lower the gastric irritation. * put 1 teaspoon of fennel seeds (saunff) in a glass of water in night and drink this water in morning everyday to cure gastric problem. * take few leaves of mint (pudina), coriander leaves (dhania), pinch of rock salt & pinch of black pepper. Crush them well and make paste. Take 1 teaspoon this paste (chatni) with meal in morning & evening.

Fatty Liver - Signs You Are Suffering From It!

The liver is a key organ in metabolism and will have some amount of fat. However, excessive fat accumulation in the liver can be abnormal and is referred to as fatty liver. If the fat content exceeds anything more than 5% to 10% of the liver’s weight, it would be referred to as fatty liver.

Types - There are mainly two types based on causes:

  1. Alcoholic fatty liver: This is very common in people who consume excessive amounts of alcohol. Even a one-off instance of binge drinking can cause increased fat accumulation in the liver, but it would not produce any symptoms though. Preexisting hepatitis, pregnancy, obesity, and genetic predisposition may also lead to alcoholic liver disease.
  2. Non-alcoholic liver disease: This is the less common type of fatty liver, and there would be no alcoholic abuse history here. However, there could be genetic predisposition, obesity, autoimmune liver disease, malnutrition, which can lead to this condition.


Fatty liver disease is a chronic condition with insidious onset (meaning to say, the exact time of onset cannot be pinpointed). However, as the disease condition progresses, symptoms will become evident, which can trigger a medical evaluation to identify the fatty liver. Some of the symptoms include:

  1. Excessive fatigue and weakness
  2. Unexplained weight loss
  3. Loss of appetite
  4. Nausea
  5. Trouble focusing and concentrating
  6. Impaired judgment
  7. Constant, slow enlargement of the liver can cause pain in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen (where the liver is)
  8. There could be jaundice, where the skin and the white of the eyes turn pale yellow
  9. Symptoms of liver failure, including increased levels of proteins in the chemical tests.


As noted earlier, it is not easy to identify liver disease, as there are no specific symptoms. However, the above symptoms could point to a potential fatty liver.

  1. Blood tests, especially for liver enzymes
  2. Ultrasound, where the liver is imaged to look for any structural changes
  3. Biopsy, where liver tissue is extracted to confirm the diagnosis of fatty liver


There is no specific treatment for fatty liver. It can be managed through the following, where symptoms reduce in severity, and overall prognosis improves.

  1. Diabetes control: There is a relation between how well diabetes is controlled and severity of fatty liver. Improving diabetes control ensures fatty liver does not progress.
  2. Alcohol: Cutting down or even better quitting alcohol, definitely helps improve symptoms. If it is alcohol induced fatty liver, alcohol should be stopped.
  3. Weight management: Obesity and fatty liver are related, so weight management is essential.
  4. Healthy diet: Eating a healthy diet and regular exercise regimen also helps improve symptoms of fatty liver. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a dietitian-nutritionist.

1. Drink 100-500 ml of tender coconut water twice a day for relief from hyperacidity Mix equal parts of powdered fennel, licorice root, basil leaves and coriander seeds. Have ½ teaspoon of this mixture with ½ teaspoon of powdered rock candy (or unrefined sugar) 15 minutes before lunch and dinner. 2.Make a powdered mixture of equal parts of rock candy (or unrefined sugar), fennel, and green cardamom. Whenever you feel heartburn, mix 1 teaspoon of the mixture in a glass of cold milk and drink. 3.Avoid tea, coffee, and carbonated or alcoholic beverages. 4.Avoid using garlic, ginger, onions, tomatoes, and vinegar in cooking. 5.Curd should be strictly avoided at night. 6. Practice Yoga and Pranayama such as Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, Salabhasana, Bhastrika Pranayama,Shitali Pranayama and Shitkari Pranayama. 7.Drink plenty of fluids and water. 8. Avoid constipation. 9. Take 1 tsf avipattikar churna empty stomach twice a day with water/ 20 days and 2 tab soothshekhar ras twice a day 30 min after meals with little water/10 days. 10. Revert back after 10 days. U have to improve your food habits do 1. Take 2/ 3 glass of warm water in the morning 2. Take more water in day 3. Take meals at fixed hrs, chew food properly/ completely, no eating quickly 4. You need to maintain your body fluids from dehydration. Just start taking ors /electrolytes in water reguar for maintaining fluids from dehydration. You may use light watery khichari with or without moong daal soups and salts. Norflox-tz. 1tab three times a day for 2-3 day. It will help you for your cure.

Because of hard STOOL my rectum got wound and it bleed a bit, I got treated but every time cos of hard STOL it keep getting wounded and a drop blood with pain. I even change my diet eat lot of fruits veggies water by can't get rid of constipation. Old suggest.

Gas in rectum increases with infection, aerophagia. Eat leisurely. Remain stress free. Eat lots of green leafy vegetables and fruits. Avoid spicy, oily and besan stuff.

Dear lybrate-user, This feeling of your friend is not called farting it is referred to as burping, benching or dyspepsia. It can be normal phenomenon after having a meal or can be related to some pathology. Your friend can try some hot water after a meal for digestion and avoid skipping meals and do regular exercise. Hi, take Gastrobin , 10 drops with water twice daily before meals. Take light food like Dalia and khichdi once daily. Take dal, chapati, vegetables. Don't take non veg, rice, rajama and chole. Drink 10 to12 glasses of water. Revert me after 7 days.
