This is a general strain due to excessive walking or standing and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes. One time you can do hot water fermentation that would help to reduce the muscle strain.

A person with diabetes has to adapt certain life style changes like 1) regular exercise for more than 1 h a day, 2) take a balanced diet, but avoid direct sugar and sweets, deep fried foods and junk food, 3) use whole grain flour for breads, 4) consume more green vegetables and salads, 5) avoid alcohol and smoking. Apart from this primary thing is to take prescribed medication regularly without fail, and periodically get blood sugar checked. When these guidelines are followed and weight is maintained near normal for the height, then one can live a fairly normal life.

Apart from all lifestyle modifications if the patient is under stress, tension and strain, blood glucose levels will not be under control. So try asking him to meditate, deep breathing exercises etc. Also the result varies from ran to person. Consume Fresubin DM supplement 2 scoops in 200 ml low fat milk at 10 am and 10 pm daily until sugar levels are controlled.

Hello You need to maintain your thyroid level under strict control. High level can be reason for infeertility or miscarriage. So control it well (more strict control than before especially if you want planning to conceive) you need to provide detail information regarding your medical history in order to help you further. Since thyroid medicines are hormonal medicine. As a doctor I have to be very careful in selecting the right dose for you. Even little change in the dose may affect your hormones in negative way. Best thing you can do is control your thyroid levels to avoid complications associated with poorly controlled thyroid disease. If you wish you can consult with me regarding further management with your complete medical history and latest blood thyroid reports.

Your blood sugar and cholesterol level is in the upper limit of normal. Regular exercise, diet control, weight reduction, avoiding oily and fatty food, restricting carbohydrate and sweets can bring down the sugar and cholesterol level. Repeat the test after some time. If not under control medicine has to be started.

Since you have thyroid problem you will experience a problem related to weight. According to my experience no medicine for fat burning is as effective as a little exercise daily. Burning fat is a slow but steady process. You have to exercise a bit daily, at the same time you have to careful in your diet. You should avoid high calorific food. Along with it you can take medicines for quick burning of fat. But since you have thyroid you will have a tendency to grow fat. At the same time diabetes will make you tired easily. So it is tough for you to lose weight easily.

Hello, if diabetes is diagnosed, is it t1 or t2? because treatment varies in both. T1 will need only insulin injections, t2 can be treated with oral anti-diabetes drugs. Sometimes insulin is used if blood sugar is very high (350 o 400 mg & hba1c%9 plus). Anyway, he needs to be put on appropriate treatment first and blood glucose has to be brought under control. Secondly he should avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, other bakery items, sweetened aerated drinks (colas), fructose corn syrup containing products, highly processed food products, high fat milk products. Should stay away from smoking and alcohol. Consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads and permitted fruits (100 g a day). Total caloric intake has to be based on ideal body weight, extent of daily exercise and blood glucose levels. If you have any specific doubts please come back. Thanks.

Hye, Thanks for the query.     For a hypothyroid condition there is no specific or special food. And it is best advised to have a diet planned as per the thyroid levels, lifestyle and history. Though you can follow some guidelines - Have small frequent meals. Do not fast for long hours. Avoid a very heavy meal at one time. Avoid fruit juices, aerated drinks or sugarcane juice, honey, jaggery or sugar if having insulin resistance. You just have to avoid raw, unprocessed soya, raw peanuts and raw cabbage. Avoid junk foods. Exercise and stay active. Do not attempt to try out too many remedies as you could go into lowered metabolism. Sleep well.            It's all a matter of discipline.

You can do exercise that do not involve weight bearing on your legs. You can lie down on an exercise mat and raise your legs in air to do leg exercises like air cycling. It costs you nothing and works out all the parts of body. Swimming is an excellent exercise in this regard.

Mr. Lybrate-user, if hypothyroidism is confirmed, then only treatment option is to take proper dose of thyroxine hormone, based on tsh level and her body weight. Plus there has to diet restriction to be followed and certain foods have to be avoided. Plus she has to exercise daily for 1 hour, to keep her weight in check. Hypothyroidism can only be controlled, there is no cure. So please take all the advise seriously. Thanks.

Dear lybrate user, cholesterol is naturally produced inside the body of every living animal. Human beings are no exception to that. But when we take mutton, chicken, yellow part of a boiled egg, ghee, butter etc we intake cholesterol from external source. This extra cholesterol from external sources increase the total cholesterol content of human body. You should always keep your cholesterol level within normal limits as high cholesterol serves as a precursor to various cardiac diseases. Avoid the aforesaid food. Walk at least 1 hour in a day without any interval. Also you can take homoeopathic mother tincture fucus vesiculosus q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water.
