If thyroid hormone levels are normal please continue present treatment. But periodically check thyroid hormone levels (once in 3 months). If the condition recurs at that time treatment can be decided. Presently continue with the drugs that you are on.

I agree with him. Why? what doubt do you have? in fact, your hba1c is suggesting that you have had far more higher sugar levels since 3 months than what you are mentioning in your reports. Probably, 300 or so.

Being a dietitian my views: there is no single diet chart for everyone. To plan a specific diet we do collect lot of information like height, weight, food frequency, digestive history, medical history, likes, dislike, lifestyle, eating habits. Remember one thing to follow a diet it should be personalized according to person's body type and not generalized. Starting with there is no pills or powder or shake which can help you to lose weight in a healthy way. To lose weight eat an hour within walking up and dinner at least 2 hours before you sleep. Avoiding eating anything after dinner. Breakfast should be your king size have good complex carbohydrates and protein rich. Eat every 2 hours small frequent meal do help in weight loss. And do not overeat. One can come to ideal body weight with few lifestyle modification. Have green tea only 2 cups a day. For exercise I would say diet plays 80 % role and exercise plays 20 % role in losing weight. Personal advise on gym. You should not make your body habituated with machines rather do simple walk or surya namaskar or planks. So only with healthy eating one can lose weight.

I want to know the symptoms and diagnosis for hyperthyroidism. What kind of food items should be eat.

Some of the common symptoms of hyperthyroidism are: •Sweating profusely •Intolerance to heat •Increased bowel movements •Slight tremor in the limbs •Rapid heart rate •Unexplained weight loss •Excessive fatigue •Concentration problem •Irregular menstrual cycle •It can lead to irregular heart rhythms and even heart failure in the elderly. •Untreated hyperthyroidism may result in condition called thyroid storm, where a person can suffer from high blood pressure, fever leading to a heart failure. •In Graves’ disease, there may be eye changes and skin changes in addition to the other symptoms.---------- The diagnosis can be made from the symptoms that the patient experiences and a confirmation can be made by diagnostic tests-------------- There’s no such thing as a hyperthyroidism diet, but what you eat matters. Hyperthyroidism—when your thyroid gland produces too much thyroid hormone—can’t be prevented or treated though diet alone. It’s often treated with prescription medication, so see your doctor immediately if you have hyperthyroidism symptoms. But by eating certain foods, you can limit some mild hyperthyroidism symptoms what foods should you eat? 1.From strawberries to blueberries to raspberries—the choice is yours. Berries pack a powerful punch because they’re bursting with antioxidants, which keep your immune system strong. Eat a serving of berries every day. 2.Broccoli is part of the goitrogen family—foods that can decrease the amount of thyroid hormone your thyroid gland produces. Foods that belong to this group are known as “cruciferous” foods. Not a broccoli fan? Other cruciferous veggies include cauliflower, kale, and cabbage. Eat one or more servings of these veggies a day. 3.Salmon contains vitamin D—an essential nutrient that works with calcium to prevent bone loss. Salmon also carries a megadose of omega-3 fatty acids that keep you healthy. Your body doesn’t naturally produce these fatty acids, so you have to get them from food. If you’re not into fish, get your vitamin D from eggs and mushrooms and your omega-3s from walnuts, olive oil, and flaxseed oil. Eats foods with these nutrients daily. 4.Turkey is an excellent source of protein—important because your body needs protein for energy and to build and maintain muscle. Weight loss is a common hyperthyroidism symptom, so eating enough protein can help ensure you stay at a healthy weight. Don’t eat meat? No problem—you can get protein from beans and nuts. Just try to eat protein at every meal. 5.Untreated hyperthyroidism can eventually weaken your bones and may lead to osteoporosis. To prevent this, get 3 servings a day of calcium from yogurt or other dairy foods, such as cheese and milk.

Cough is not a thyroid problem, need more details. You may have allergic cough/infective. Online consultation there are certain points which all should know and follow the description of the diseases should be complete in all respects, including any tests done and any medicines already taking. Just saying I have diabetes since 10 years and taking metformin or I have thyroid disease, cannot help a discerning doctor give a scientific advice.

Hi, I am having diabetes. So How to reduce blood glucose level of 500 mg by natural method. please suggest me.
Mr. Lybrate-user, if any one has 500 mg blood sugar, then insulin injections are a must. There is no way to reduce that kind of sugar by any other means. Severe hyperglycemia causes severe glucotoxicity and insulin producing cells of pancreas are stunned, so there activity is seriously affected. To help them regain ability to produce insulin, immediate reduction is high glucose level by using insulin injection is essential. Once levels are well controlled, then one can shift on to oral anti-diabetes drugs say in about 3 months. But without using insulin or any other drug there no way to reduce such high sugar levels. Plus such high levels also hasten long term complications of diabetes. So my suggestion is please initiate immediate treatment. Thanks for the question.
