Definitely. You can wait to start th allopathic medicines. Just by th diet, exercise n nutrition you can get th desired diabetic control. Instead you can start some ayurvedic medicines containing th very effective herbs like vijaysar, gudmar, karela, neem, jamun, ashavgandha etc.

Fasting blood sugar suggests she has impaired fasting blood sugar as above 100 mg%. However she should also get blood sugar test after 2 hours after 75 grammes of glucose intake by mouth a level above 140 mg% to 199 mg% suggests impaired glucose tolerance and is prediabetic stage. Wherein approach is to reduce weight, regular exercise like walking for minimum 40 minutes a day and avoiding taking of free sugar. No medications are necessary at this stage unless blood sugar goes up to 200 mg% periodical blood tests say once in two months and hba1c test once in 6 months will be helpful.

Never miss out breakfast. 5- No overeating:-Never eat in a bulk on one time .Eat your food slowly, chew well. 6- Proper Exercise and work outs:- Brisk walking for 30 min. atleast five times a week is the best and easiest way of exercising. You can also try Cycling, swimming, dancing. Timings for exercise should be fixed and regular. Avoid heavy exercise. Do not eat right away after a workout . 7-constant and regular timings for medication 8-Avoid fried foods and meat: Limit fats and sweets. Rather choose a variety of foods including whole grains, fresh vegetables, salads, fruits, low fat dairy products. 9- Take high-fibre and complex carbohydrates:-like oats as they are easily broken down to basic sugars. Add whole grain foods in your diet. My TSH result is 31.09 MIu/ml. Is it Hypothyroidism or Hyperthyroidism? What is the normal range for a woman above 40 yrs.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
lybrate-userji, High TSH value means presence of hypothyroidism. Normal range of TSH is 0.5 to 6 mU/L. Some authorities say up to 4.7 mU/L. Your value is too high, requires immediate treatment with thyroxine hormone to overcome the condition. Thanks.

Diabetes treatment goals fasting blood sugar- between 70 and 130 mg/dl post parandial blood sugar- less than 180 mg/dl hba1c? less than 7. Diabetes is a systematic disease that effects almost all organs of the body. It is usually of two types type 1 is when there is no insulin in the body and the only treatment is insulin. Type 2 is usually due to resistance to the action of insulin and there are many treatment options. Besides treatment, equally important are diet and exercise. Treatment option would depend on the type of diabetes, a newly diagnosed diabetic person has to undergo tests like fasting blood sugar levels hba1c levels full blood count, liver function test, kidney function test, ecg, lipid profile, urine test, and few others to determine whether any complications are there or not and to identify any contraindications to any of the medications. Please get back with the above said results and your age, pulse bp and weight for a proper treatment regimen.
