Hi lybrate-user, Thanks for writing in, welcome to the forum. Many of the sleep medicines in themselves can be addictive although they will provide a temporary relief from problems. In the end, we don't want to end up in a situation where you are addicted both alcohol as well as sleep medicines. Depending upon the amount and regularity if drinking, we may have to give medicines to tide over the withdrawal symptoms including sleep, but also many other issues. But I strongly suggest that this must be done under strict medical supervision and certainly not on your own. Some of the things that you can do on your own are getting blood tests like hemogram, LFT, RFT, electrolytes, RBS, vitamin B12 levels and thyroid profile. I also suggest that you can start tablet thiamine (TIM 100) as it is quite safe and beneficial. But other interventions must be done after proper evaluation, so please meet your local expert. Take care!

Hi Take brahmi vati. Smriti sagar ras and praval panchamrit. Make its powder and mix it. Then take these medicines with honey twice a day. 1-1 drop of cow ghee in both nostrils at night time before sleep. Do pranayama early morning for freshness. Avoid oily food. Junk food. Avoid alcohol consumption. Eat green vegetables. Walk for at least 45 minutes a day.

She is suffering from lichen plans since past 2 to 3 years. She has tried allopathy, homoeopathy as well as ayurweda. Only allopathy has affected her. After treatment and medication, she has recovered. But they are occurring again although treatment is continued. What is the reason they are happening again and again?

As lichen planus is an auto immune disease hence we can control it but not totally cure it and avoid any triggering factor, take folic acid regularly, eat a healthy diet, always be stress free, exercise regularly.

Grate a couple of chilled potatoes to extract the juice. Soak a cotton ball in the juice and place it on your closed eyes. Make sure the juice covers the dark circles entirely. Allow the juice to sit for about 15 minutes and rinse your eyelids well with cool water.

I am 44 years male, I would like to know that should we sleep 8 hours in a stretch or 7 hours in the night and 1 hours in the afternoon. I mean can we break the 8 hours of sleep in two parts?

MD

Best is to sleep 7-8 hours straight in night. However in afternoon you can take a power nap for 10-15 mins. It helps in work efficacy.
