Dust allergy is partly genetic and partly environmental. Thus it never goes away. With better ,less dusty environment  the extent if the problem gets reduced. Medicines help to downregulate the immune response of your body to these environmental allergens. Long term lifestyle  changes with gradually tapering medication  helps to tackle chronic sinus problems.  Start taking Steam inhalation twice a day. *For chronic allergic rhinosinusitis you will need to take a long term course of antibiotics  together  with Nasal sprays . *You will need to avoid dusty environment  and dust mites, animal dander etc. Regular cleaning of AC air filters. Wearing mask while driving 2 wheelers/working in dusty  areas Medical  management  is done for 3 months and then patients  condition is reviewed.  Intermittent treatment is not beneficial  in the long run. Around 30 %of people with allergic rhinitis  will develop Asthma if not treated .But majority of patients with asthma are allergic to dust .Active treatment  of nasal allergy reduces Asthma attacks and medicine requirements. This improve  quality of life .allergens.

Tinnitus is a common problem usually associated with deafness. It is of two types, subjective and objective. In objective tinnitus you can find out the cause of tinnitus while in subjective it is difficult to find the cause. Treatment consisit of reassurance and certain vasodilator and vitamin treatment. In objective tinnitus you may require surgery if cause is confirmed by all mod of diagnosis including ct scan.

It looks like infection of ear, especially if you are also having cold too. Best thing is to consult an ent surgeon because it may have caused hole in your eardrum. By that time you can take mild painkiller like paracetamol and use some antibiotics ear drops. Do not allow water entering your ear at all. Do not clean your ear enthusiastically.

I have bleeding in my nose from 3 days. What should I do?

Certified Diabetes Educator, Registered Dietitian (RD), PGDD, Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (B.U.M.S), General Physician
Dietitian/Nutritionist,
there are various techniques to stop nose bleeding: sit upright and lean forward. By remaining upright, you reduce blood pressure in the veins of your nose. This discourages further bleeding. Sitting forward will help you avoid swallowing blood, which can irritate your stomach. Pinch your nose. Use your thumb and index finger to pinch your nostrils shut. Breathe through your mouth. Continue to pinch for five to 10 minutes. Pinching sends pressure to the bleeding point on the nasal septum and often stops the flow of blood. To prevent re-bleeding, don't pick or blow your nose and don't bend down for several hours after the bleeding episode. During this time remember to keep your head higher than the level of your heart. If re-bleeding occurs then you can consult me privately doctor. Do reply back for medication prescriptions. Being also a general physician and registered dietitian, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary guidelines and home remedies carefully personalized for each individual patient.

Is Bluetooth earphones (wireless) are harmful than normal earphones? Please reply.

BHMS
Homeopath, Secunderabad
Is Bluetooth earphones (wireless) are harmful than normal earphones? Please reply.
There are two issues here - one is the radiation that is emitted. Second is the decibel level at which one uses the head phones. All standard branded models of cellphones have specifications written on them (on the Manual). So it can be safe if you are using a good cellphone which adheres to the standards. It would still be wise to use the cellphone sparingly or as it is needed and avoid radiations. The headphone should not be used for long intervals of time as it came be harmful in the long run. (The incidence of ear infections may be high and also hearing loss may be another risk) Use it at a minimum audible level. Use speake phone when possible.

Sir my brother is 18 years old. He was attacked by typhoid. In many time some blood came out from his nose. What should I do?

AUTLS, CCEDM, MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
General Physician, Faridabad
typhoid disease cure can be advised once u provide the detailed widal test report which u might have got done.. for bleeding nose ,just pinch the nose tightly with thumb and index finger and sit with a slightly forward bend..this way bleeding vessels will close and blood won't trickle away silently into nasopharynx posteriorly.. u can apply ice over it .. if it still persists ,then get to nearest doctor who will pack the nose tightly for some hours
