Darkening of urine has various reasons to blame. To know the exact reasons do a routine urine examination and urine microscopy. Unless you have fever too, urinary infection is less likely.

Prostatitis - What Can Cause It?

Prostatitis - What Can Cause It?

Prostatitis is a very common infection of the prostate. However, it is worth to note that prostatitis can also be an inflammation of the prostate without infection. Only 5 to 10 percent of prostatitis is caused by bacterial infection. Prostrate cancer does not normally have its chances increased by prostatitis. There are several forms of prostatitis, including acute bacterial prostatitis, chronic bacterial prostatitis and chronic nonbacterial prostatitis (which is also known as chronic pelvic pain syndrome ). The exact cause for prostatitis is not known, but here are some factors which increase its risk, particularly acute bacterial prostatitis.

Possible causes:

1. Medical instrumentation

Putting an instrument like a urinary catheter may well cause prostatitis.

2. Rectal intercourse

This is basically another name for anal sex.

3. Abnormal urinary tract

The urinary tract comprises of the bladders, kidneys, ureters and urethra. If any one of these organs gets infected, then prostatitis is much more likely.

4. Bladder infection

A bladder infection may well spread to the prostate.

Symptoms

Prostatitis has a variety of symptoms. Here are the most common symptoms of prostatitis.

1. Constant need of urination

This is one of the most common symptoms of prostatitis.

2. Difficulty when urinating

Just like the constant need of urination, difficulty urinating is also a sign that you may have prostatitis.

3. Pain while urinating

This is because the prostate gland is a part of your urinary tract and if it does not work properly, there will be pain.

4. Chills and fever

This is a rarer symptom, but may indicate prostatitis if it is coupled with the other symptoms.

5. Pain in perineal area and genital organs

If you are experiencing pain in genital organs, than it may indicate prostatitis.

6. Painful ejaculations or relief of perineal pain after ejaculations

If you are having painful ejaculation or the pain arises after ejaculation, then it may be due to prostatitis.

7. Hematospermia

Pinkish or brownish semen

If these symptoms are persistent or bothersome, then a proper consultation is required. Evaluation includes physical examination along with few simple tests. This can be followed by proper treatment for cure or relief  of symptoms.

Yes better to repeat a scan. If stones are small Dr. no plenty of fluid daily around 4-5litres and take syp k-cit 15 ml thrice daily in a glass of water for 2-3montha. If stones are big better to get it removed endoscopically by a urologist.

Mr. lybrate-user. You are lucky In spite of enlarged prostate you don't have any urinary problem. I suggest you to be careful in winter season as prostatic engorgement increases and some people who are having prostatism I mean who have urinary problems may increase a bit so take bath with Warm water don't move outside in cold days and forget about any treatment till you have symptoms. For blockages in coronary vessels Take yoga classes and do it regularly it will also improve. See your physician if you have blood pressure or diabetes.

Kidney Failure - What Should You Know About it?

FISN, FISPD, MD - General Medicine, MBBS, DM

Kidney Failure - What Should You Know About it?

Needless to say, your kidneys play an incredibly important role in filtering waste from your blood, and therefore maintain healthy functioning of the body. Blood pressure, production of red blood cells, and electrolyte balance, all of these are regulated by the proper functioning of the kidneys. Kidney failure causes too much build-up of waste nitrogen products, acids and/or excess fluid, which causes major cardio respiratory problem to the patient.

Symptoms-

Inability to properly remove potassium that runs in the bloodstream can lead to irregular heartbeat and ultimately, death that is sudden and unforeseen.

How can it be treated?

The causes of kidney failures are many and the key to treat them is to correct the underlying cause first. Chronic kidney disease, however, has no cure. Treatment generally comprises measures that aid in controlling symptoms and signs, reduce complications, and slow down the progression of this disease. Despite efforts to treat the cause, the condition might keep worsening and there is little to guarantee the fact that complications will not arise. This is precisely why it is of utmost importance to opt for examinations at regular intervals so that you may ascertain if your disease has remained stable or worsened.

End-stage of Kidney disease
In the case that your kidneys are unable to keep up with fluid and waste clearance as is normally expected, then there’s a good chance that you have developed a near-complete or complete case of kidney-failure, and are afflicted by end-stage kidney disease. If this is indeed the case, then you have two options to resort to:

  • DialysisThis helps remove the extra waste products that the kidneys fail to do. In haemodialysis, fluid and waste filtering takes place with the aid of a machine that drives these excesses from the blood. In peritoneal dialysis, catheters are employed to rid the body of the accumulated waste products.
  • Transplant: Kidney transplants involve a surgical placement of a healthy kidney in your system from a compatible donor, either living or dead. Medications will be a necessity since the body has to be prevented from rejecting this new organ.

You may also opt for treating the condition with conservative measures in case you don’t want to resort to the aforementioned procedures.
