How can I gain weight withing 1 month. I want to gain at least 10 kgs of weight within a month.
Hi here are 6 ways to gain weight healthily: 1. Eating 5 to 6 meals a day in order to gain weight, start eating 5-6 meals a day by breaking them into parts. Eating a lot at once may cause indigestion if the body fails to absorb all nutrients. Eat in small amounts, even if you are not hungry and there will be an increase in appetite from day to day. The aim should be to have a generously portioned breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as two to three snacks in between. 2. Start weight training if you build your muscles through weight training, it will convert the extra weight into lean body mass and also stimulate your appetite. The extra muscle increases the rate of metabolism. When you start exercising you will often experience extreme muscle soreness but it goes away in 3-5 days. 3. Load up on protein besides weight training, a protein-rich diet can help you gain mass. Eating a meal heavy in protein shortly after finishing exercise can be highly effective in adding extra pounds to your body. However, a diet focused only on lean protein is not helpful. It is important to make sure that your diet has plenty of fat in it. Eat foods rich in protein like cheese, meat, eggs, etc to gain weight in a healthy manner. 4. Workout your entire body a lot of people focus only on training the muscles on their arms, chest and shoulders and this is a grave error. Firstly, it will give you a disproportionate body; and it will make you prone to injuries. Therefore, it's important to work out the entire body for a complete and balanced look. 5. Drink your calories to reach the calorie requirement only by eating may be tough. Drinking milk, milkshakes or protein shakes with little or no sugar can be an effective way to load up on the calorie requirements. 6. Be patient and believe in yourself gaining weight quickly in a healthy manner is unrealistic. Every body type is different and it takes months to gain weight. Living healthy by eating the right diet will increase your strength. It is also important to keep following the routine even if you don't see any gains. Caution: junk food and fried foods must be avoided; although have a tendency to add more fat to your body but are very low in vitamins and minerals which are essentially required to keep you really fit.

Sir I am 34 years old weight 62 kgs. My recent thyroid test reports shows tsh 7.55 and t3 t4 normal. Also suffering from male pattern hair loss and neck pain. Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. With TSH 7.55 mU/L, it is considered as sub-clinical hypothyroidism. In such a condition no treatment is advocated. However, if there are troublesome symptoms related to hypothyroidism are present then treatment is indicated. Male pattern of baldness may not be related to hypothyroidism, as some persons tend to loose hair much early. My suggestion is get an Anti TPO antibody test done to see if the number is higher than normal. Then do come back If confirmed hypothyroidism is there then only option is to take thyroxine tablets. In adequate dosage. Thanks.

Hi thanks for your query. Normally soft tissue swelling may take 2-3 weeks to disappear and maybe even longer depending upon site and kind of injury. Anyways do intensive ice packs if it is an acute phase of injury, take short course of analgesics according to one which suits you, and do not indulge in heavy physical activity as of now, compressive bandages also help depending upon location of your injury. Can be solved through acupressure/ acupuncture easily. Try this for 3 days. Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening. you are too young to face this problem however any untreated, unrecovered fracture sites always leads to problems in the future when we live day to day life activities. If the old fracture sites are not properly healed then we can keep ice to heal that particular injured bone which will definitely heal to greater extent. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. The iformation given is very little to give any opinion. I need to know full details like fasting, PP & HbA1c%, dietary pattern extent of daily exercise, total medications being taken with exact dosage. Plus please clarify in your "medical conditions" there is a mention as T1 diabetes. If that is the case then how is that you are on Diamicron? Because T1 DM is only treated with Insulin Injection. No other anti diabetic drugs is used. Thanks.

Hye, Most often feeling sleepy could be because you have disrupted your sleep hours, like studying late at night, excessive tea or coffee, excessive weight, a very heavy meal or disturbed sleep can lead to make you feel sleepy. Avoid very late and heavy dinners. Do not take too much tea of coffee to keep awake for studies. Try to maintain a timetable for sleep. Drink water at frequent intervals.

Drink 3 litres water daily. Dehydration could cause headaches. Have small frequent balanced meals avoiding fried/junk foods to prevent gas formation. Have lots of salad, whole fruit, curd. Use earphones for conversing over mobile. If you are working on computer, you need to look away from screen very frequently & practice eye exercises.

For increasing your weight Few diet tips - Not to eat fried food items and Can eat All green vegetables, moong, chana,Dal, rice etc And to apply ghee over chappati and don't apply oil over chappati And to drink milk mixed with turmeric powder twice a day And If possible eat eggs on alternate days And If possible in breakfast eat atleast one bajra ka rotla And Eat seasonal fruit.

You do regular exercise like yoga, push ups, sit ups, weight lifting and other muscle building exercise will help you to gain weight. Eat extra amount of food more frequently. Take whole cream milk. Use nutritional supplement for weight gain. Take lots of whole fruits, dense vegetables. Eat more protein and add extra fat in cooking. Eat lots of nuts, seeds. Avoid smoking, alcohol. No water just before or during meals. Take quality sleep.
