I have an bought about sex how will occur hiv or aids I am confused is anybody can help me.

MBBS, PG Diploma (HIV Medicines)
HIV Specialist, Surat
I have an bought about sex how will occur hiv or aids I am confused is anybody can help me.
You can get or transmit HIV only through specific activities. Most commonly, people get or transmit HIV through sexual behaviors and needle or syringe use. Only certain body fluids—blood, semen (cum), pre-seminal fluid (pre-cum), rectal fluids, vaginal fluids, and breast milk—from a person who has HIV can transmit HIV. These fluids must come in contact with a mucous membrane or damaged tissue or be directly injected into the bloodstream (from a needle or syringe) for transmission to occur. Mucous membranes are found inside the rectum, vagina, penis, and mouth. In the United States, HIV is spread mainly by Having anal or vaginal sex with someone who has HIV without using a condom or taking medicines to prevent or treat HIV. For the HIV-negative partner, receptive anal sex (bottoming) is the highest-risk sexual behavior, but you can also get HIV from insertive anal sex (topping). Either partner can get HIV through vaginal sex, though it is less risky for getting HIV than receptive anal sex. Sharing needles or syringes, rinse water, or other equipment (works) used to prepare drugs for injection with someone who has HIV. HIV can live in a used needle up to 42 days depending on temperature and other factors. Less commonly, HIV may be spread From mother to child during pregnancy, birth, or breastfeeding. Although the risk can be high if a mother is living with HIV and not taking medicine, recommendations to test all pregnant women for HIV and start HIV treatment immediately have lowered the number of babies who are born with HIV. By being stuck with an HIV-contaminated needle or other sharp object. This is a risk mainly for health care workers. In extremely rare cases, HIV has been transmitted by Oral sex—putting the mouth on the penis (fellatio), vagina (cunnilingus), or anus (rimming). In general, there’s little to no risk of getting HIV from oral sex. But transmission of HIV, though extremely rare, is theoretically possible if an HIV-positive man ejaculates in his partner’s mouth during oral sex. To learn more about how to lower your risk, see Oral Sex and HIV Risk. Receiving blood transfusions, blood products, or organ/tissue transplants that are contaminated with HIV. This was more common in the early years of HIV, but now the risk is extremely small because of rigorous testing of the US blood supply and donated organs and tissues. Eating food that has been pre-chewed by an HIV-infected person. The contamination occurs when infected blood from a caregiver’s mouth mixes with food while chewing. The only known cases are among infants. Being bitten by a person with HIV. Each of the very small number of documented cases has involved severe trauma with extensive tissue damage and the presence of blood. There is no risk of transmission if the skin is not broken. Contact between broken skin, wounds, or mucous membranes and HIV-infected blood or blood-contaminated body fluids. Deep, open-mouth kissing if both partners have sores or bleeding gums and blood from the HIV-positive partner gets into the bloodstream of the HIV-negative partner. HIV is not spread through saliva.

How Homeopathy Helps Treat Stammering?

B.H.M.S., Post graduate certificate in Nutrition, Obesity and Health
Homeopath, Indore
How Homeopathy Helps Treat Stammering?

Stammering or stuttering is a type of speech impairment where sounds or syllables are repeated involuntarily or there are unintended gaps in between words when the person is unable to make the desired sound.

People develop stutters due to genetic flaws, motor functioning defects, coordination problems or due to psychological stressors. The condition can result in anxiety, depression and withdrawal from verbal communication.

How does homeopathy help?

A stutter can be practiced away or corrected by speech therapy but there is no specific medicine that can be used to cure stammering. Homeopathic medicines can provide relief from the symptoms by fixing flawed nervous functions, improve motor coordination and modify the vocal apparatus. Different homeopathic treatments can be used depending on the nature of the condition.

The following is a list of homeopathic remedies and lifestyle changes that can be used to address the problem:

  1. Foods rich in vitamin B6 like nuts, fish, bananas and chicken should be consumed regularly by children who have a stutter to help with motor functions.
  2. Adults should avoid caffeine, tobacco and other recreational drugs as they cause hyper-stimulation of the nervous system.
  3. Stramonium (jimsonweed) can be used when the stammering is violent and the person distorts the facial muscles heavily in order to be able to speak.
  4. Lycopodium (clubmoss) can be useful for stammering as well as depression, memory weakness and sleep problems. This is especially helpful if the patient struggles with the last few words of a sentence.
  5. Spigelia is beneficial for a mild stutter at the beginning of a sentence, often followed by undisturbed speech.
  6. Causticum is prescribed when emotional excitability causes stammering, twitching of the facial muscles or problems in the vocal chords.
  7. Staphysagria can aid in reducing social anxiety which often causes stammering i.e. the stammer only happens while interacting with strangers or authority figures.
  8. Nux vomica (strychnine) is the medicine to use when stammering is a result of extreme stress or over work.
  9. Fright or shock often causes speechlessness or stammering. Aconite can provide immediate relief in such cases.
  10. Lachesis is an effective homeopathic medicine when the patient stutters over specific letters or syllables.
  11. Gelsemium is used to treat stuttering after severe viral infections when the patient complains of a heavy tongue and lack of general coordination. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Homeopath.

Premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction both can be dealt effectively with treatments. Treatment is usually a combination of short course of medications and counselling/. Also to maintain the effects in the long run you may need to learn and practice certain exercises that may help you maintain erection and delay ejaculation during sex.

I have a diabetes. Pls suggest me what to eat or not give me advice to prevent from it.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
I have a diabetes. Pls suggest me what to eat or not give me advice to prevent from it.
Mr. Lybrate-user, prevention of diabetes is possible when diabetes has not developed. Once it has been diagnosed, then it can only be controlled with appropriate treatment. So if you already have diabetes then take care and control sugar levels as normal as possible. To achieve good control fasting should be closer to 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg and hba1c%<6.8. Diet has to be every individual specific, depending upon blood sugar level, hba1c%, extent of daily exercise and weight of the patient. Your diet should provide exact calories based on the details mentioned above. In the mean time, avoid sweets completely, also direct sugar and gur, no deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, sweetened aerated drinks, high fat milk products, sweet corn syrup containing products and highly processed food products. Consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads, permitted fruits (100 g a day). Use whole grain flour, for chapati and rot. Do not use refined flour like maida. Avoid alcohol and smoking, adapting this modified lifestyle will help in controlling blood sugar better.

1. SugarConsidered as a home remedy, sugar is known for its exfoliating effects. Its coarse texture can help get rid of dead skin and minimize the unsightly appearance of these lines on your thighs, stomach, and arms. To use this natural exfoliant, take a heaping tablespoon of sugar and place it in a small bowl. Then, add in a few drops of lemon juice with some almond oil. Combine the juice with sugar and stir thoroughly. When your homemade exfoliant is ready, just rub it for a few minutes on the affected area of your skin. Afterwards, rinse the mixture off with warm water and pat dry. Make it a habit to scrub your skin with sugar and lemon juice mixture for a month until you discover positive results on your skin. 2. Aloe VeraKnown for years as a natural remedy for skin issues, aloe vera is also effective when it comes to minimizing the appearance of stretch marks. With its cooling and healing components, you can achieve positive results from using this herbal remedy regularly. Just get few small aloe vera leafs, and use this to rub on your skin for a few minutes. Next, rinse the area off with lukewarm water. Another option in using aloe vera is by taking the gel form of this plant. Then, get 5 capsules of vitamin A and vitamin E, and extract their oil. Combine these vitamin-enriched oil with your aloe vera and rub on the affected area well. Wait for the mixture to be absorbed completely by your skin, and leave on for about 10 minutes. You should also apply this daily for favorable results.

On the way to go hospital I have tried her to vomiting & finally she vomited & 1st 3 times its color was blue. And then 3-4 times she vomited blood. After reached hospital doctors said there is no way & need to wash in case of harpic poison. Doctors said actually harpic poison already done its job whenever & wherever it touched the way to sallowing time. Doctors prescribed her some exam X-ray, ECG, CXR, S. creatinine, S. Electrolyte, Urine R/E & endorse copy. After 02 days doctors said it's better to treatment her in home rather then hospital as now she just need to take medicine & liquid food & wait to recover the affected places of the inner part of the body. Almost after 15 days she can drink liquid foods painlessly but last 03 days she again start vomiting after anything she eat. Now today she almost felt bad inside & tried not to eat even water as she said it's better feel hungry rather then vomiting. In the endoscopy report I noticed her maximum area that touched poison was severely ulcerated. Last 02 days she don't want to eat (liquid food) & slept but for short time. She lost almost 10 kg weight for this accident. I am so much worried for her, couldn't understand what to do & or is there any fault in the treatment. Please advise should I take her India (Chennai) for better treatment or what's the common scenario of harpic poisoning. Thanks in advance for kind advise. Best regards Arif Arian.

Dear, At this time she requires an urgent Feeding Jejunostomy. Where a tube will be placed inside her intestine fr feeding purposes. This will help her to maintain her nutrition. After a while depending upon the status of her esophagus. A plan fr dilatation (if possible) will be instituted. If it succeeds then nothing more will be required. Else she will need a gastric/colonic pull up procedure to replace her native esophagus. We do these procedures at our hospital fairly regularly. Nd these facilities r available at most good centres. So no need to take her to Chennai unless your location favours so.

How to Treat Eating Disorders in Children

MBBS, MD - Psychiatry
Sexologist, Mumbai
How to Treat Eating Disorders in Children

The number of children suffering from eating disorders are on the rise. Change in eating habits, stress, depression, low self-esteem, lack of control in life, anger and loneliness are some of the causes of eating disorders. Some genetic disorders could also be a reason for eating disorders.

Eating disorders may lead to several health conditions which may arise in case of abnormal eating patterns. The common modes of eating disorders in children are as follows:

Anorexia: Children who are affected with anorexia think they are very overweight in spite of actually being very thin. Anorexia affected children consume less than a thousand calories per day.
The treatment for anorexia nervosa generally includes a mix of mental treatment and regulated weight gain program. The best ways to deal with anorexia are:

  1. Psychological Treatment: Different psychological treatments can be used to cure anorexia of different stages in children. They include cognitive analytic therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy and focal psychodynamic therapy. A family's response is also an important psychological factor. Proper encouragement and effort should be provided.
  2. Weight gain program: A weight gain program will guide an anorexic child to improve his diet habits and slowly gain weight. A patient is monitored carefully; the traits are recognized and a diet pattern is given, which is ideal for him.

Bulimia: Bulimia nervosa is another category of eating disorder. The main characteristic of this disorder is overeating in the highest level. Binge eating is observed, followed by attempts by the affected individual to lose weight. A bulimia affected child is constantly trapped in the cycle of overeating and then thinks about losing weight.

In spite of not liking the idea of binge eating for the fear of getting obese, a child affected by bulimia cannot follow this and continues binge eating. Later, they take extreme measures to lose weight. The primary methods to deal with bulimia are:

  1. Psychotherapy: Psychotherapy or talk therapy includes examining the bulimia and related issues with an expert. It has been proven that psychotherapy restricts the symptoms of bulimia. The three modes of psychotherapy include, Cognitive behavioral therapy, Family-based therapy and Interpersonal psychotherapy
  2. Medications: Medicines such as anti-depressants can be taken by bulimia patients along with psychotherapy. Prozac is one medicine that can be taken.
  3. Proper diet plan: For bulimia affected children, having a proper balanced diet is very important. A diet expert should be consulted, who will make the most essential food pattern for the child. Undertaking a weight-loss program is also vital.

Binge eating: Similar to bulimia, binge eating includes out of control eating in huge quantities in a short period of time. The food is not vomited out, and binge eating causes obesity. Intense emotions are experienced in binge eaters. Binge eating in children can be treated with behavioral therapy, medications and psychotherapy.
Eating disorders are quite common in children who are yet to gain maturity.

These disorders may lead to severe health consequences, which may affect a child physically and psychologically. A proper treatment is also essential to deal with these disorders.
