A spider bite is how much dangerous? What type medicine I hve to take after that?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Most spiders in india are too small and not capable of breaking the skin with their fangs, or their venom too weak to be dangerous to humans. Hence most spider bites are accidental, harmless and require no specific treatment. Still, that is not enough to stop spiders from having a bad reputation. It is common for any unexplained skin irritation to be called a spider bite. In fact, 80 percent of presumed spider bites are actually bites from other insects, or due to skin infections. Yet, occasionally, a spider's bites can cause real harm. Spider bites may cause injury by three mechanisms. First, especially with larger spiders, the bite itself may be painful and cause injury. However, far more concerning is the spider's venom, which can include necrotic agents or neurotoxins. Spider bites rarely transmit infectious diseases. Most spider bites are less painful than a bee sting. Pain from non-venomous spider bites typically lasts for five to 60 minutes while pain from venomous spider bites frequently lasts for longer than 24 hours. The rate of a bacterial infection due to a spider bite is low (less than one percent). So if you are accidently bitten by a spider start taking following homoeopathic medicine ---------------- apis mel 30 (dr reckeweg) drink 1 drop direct on tongue every 1-2 hrly for 24-48 hrs-----------------

Throat Pain - How To Know If It Is Serious?

MBBS
General Physician, Ahmednagar
Throat Pain - How To Know If It Is Serious?

Throat pain mainly occurs due to two conditions 'sore throat' or 'strep throat'. Often the terms 'sore throat' and 'strep throat' are used interchangeably, but they don't indicate the same thing. While a sore throat is a condition mostly followed by common cold, runny nose or congestion; strep throat is a bacteria induced infection. The bacterium called Streptococcus is responsible for strep throat.

The most common reason behind a sore throat is a viral infection like flu or cold. So, if you've a sore throat that is caused by virus, there is no reason to worry as it can be treated easily. But if you are suffering from strep throat or streptococcal infection, then antibiotic drugs for additional treatment will be required to avoid complications.

Signs and symptoms of a strep throat (which indicates that your throat pain is serious and needs attention) include:

  1. Pain while swallowing food
  2. Sore throat which usually persists for more than 48 hours
  3. Small red spots at the roof top of your mouth
  4. Swollen and red tonsils at times with streaks of pus or white patches
  5. Fever
  6. Swollen, benign lymph nodes in your neck
  7. Headache
  8. Rash
  9. Body aches
  10. Vomiting or feeling of nausea, especially amongst younger children

When these signs and symptoms become noticeable, you need to promptly visit your doctor for test and treatment. And, if the reports indicate strep throat, then your doctor will prescribe you some oral antibiotics to reduce the complications and severity of symptoms so that it doesn't spread to others. You are advised to follow your prescription properly and stay indoors for at least a day after starting your medication. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a General Physician.

Hye, thanks for the query. Your weight is a balance of calories. Fad diets may promise you that counting carbs or eating a mountain of fruits will make the fats drop. But when it comes to weight loss, it's sensible eating that counts. Weight loss comes down to burning more calories than you take in. You can do that by reducing extra calories from food and beverages, and increasing calories burned through physical activity. Understand that weight /fat loss involves sensible eating. You have to eat the right foods at the right time. Eat small but frequent meals. Take smaller main meals. Take a glass of lime water 10minutes before meals. Avoid long gaps in between meals. Avoid junk as far as possible. Exercise at least 4 times a week. Lastly be committed.                        Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing.     All the so called fad, crash, restricted diets will only give you muscle and bone loss. The fats will remain as it is. So, don't forget the bottom line: The key to successful weight loss is a commitment to making indefinite changes in your diet and exercise habits.

Hello lybrate-user- night is meant for sleeping. Studying at night will disturb your sleep cycle and hence will make your brain weak, it will also ruin your eye power. So go to bed before 10 pm, wake up as early as possible if you want to study because in morning time the brain tissue is almost 95% active and has a higher capacity to memorize as compared to that of night hours. Moreover waking up early morning will also benefit your health and you can give your 100% in other fields in future too.
