You should start lifestyle precautions without any delay because both your cholesterol levels and LDL are pretty deranged and repeat your cholesterol levels after 4 weeks of starting these precautions, if they are still high then you will need to start taking medicines along with the lifestyle measures. The lifestyle measures you need are - 1) Daily 40 mins of exercise like brisk walking, jogging, swimming etc 2) Weight loss if you are over weight. 3) Diet change - reduce sugar containing foods, fried food from diet and add fibres, fruits and curd (please take a detailed diet consult for a healthy heart diet) 4)Quit smoking and drinking. 4) Get your TSH and Random Blood sugar tested to rule out any thyroid or sugar issues. 5) Reduce day to day stress from your life.

High Blood Pressure - Homeopathic Remedies For It!

Hypertension or high blood pressure in common parlance is caused by irregular blood circulation in the blood vessels. High blood pressure has been an established cause for several fatal and critical heart diseases. Middle aged individuals are more prone to heart diseases caused by high blood pressure. Doctors also caution those with stressful lifestyles to keep the blood pressure levels in control. While there are prescribed drugs aimed at curing high blood pressure troubles, a large number of people are reposing their trust in homeopathy for treating high blood pressure. Among a long drawn process of cures, homeopathic treatments are extremely effective and trustworthy methods:

1. Aconitum
Certain high blood pressure conditions have sudden outbursts. It inflicts a fear of dying and acute anxiety. Aconitum abates such situations.

2. Argentum Nitricum
At times high blood pressure occurs due to anxiety and mental agitations. Argentum Nitricum is an effective remedy in curing such conditions.

3. Natrum Muriaticum
Certain high blood pressure conditions arise due to suppressed anger and stress. Harrowing events of the past and unsolved issues can induce heightened blood pressure levels. Natrum Muriaticum is a perfect solution for such troubles.

4. Veratum Viride
Veratum Viride helps in reducing arterial tension and normalizing cardiac palpitations.

5. Natural Supplements
For a variety of ailments caused by high blood pressure, homeopathy offers certain natural supplements like Co enzyme, Hawthorne, Omega-3, Vitamin E for remedying blood pressure concerns. It improves heart function and prevents blood clotting.

6. Ignatia
To heal high blood pressure caused by emotional upsurges, grief and trauma, Ignatia can be perceived as a useful remedy.

7. Belladonna
This is an emergency medical condition caused by vigorous throbbing of arteries which may progress to haemorrhaging. Belladonna goes a long way in taming such untoward medical emergencies.

8. Lachesis
Certain bodily changes result in high blood pressure, especially in the cases of women. During the onset of menopause, high blood pressure becomes a common concomitant. Lachesis is used to treat such issues.

9. Glonoinum
On certain occasions blood pressure level shoots up due to heat and excess exposure to the sun. Glonoinum is aimed at controlling the blood pressure levels in those situations.

Diastolic dysfunction is manly found due to BP and age related changes in the elasticity of heart tissue. Grade 1 diastolic dysfunction is a very common finding in normal adults with long standing slight blood pressure and in people above 50 years of age, so there is nothing to panic about. All You need to do is ensure a good BP control so that Diastolic dysfunction doesn't progress further. Your target BP should be less than 140/90 mm Hg with medications and lifestyle measures, if your BP is already well controlled then continue with your medications and dont worry.

These are called stitch keloids. To shrink it crush three or four tablets and add a small amount of water to make a smooth thick paste. Apply the paste on the scar wait for dryness then rinse with water. Pat the area dry and apply olive oil. Or intralesional steroid injection to be taken.

What Are The Symptoms and Treatment for Coronary Artery Disease?

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine, DM - Cardiology
Cardiologist, Jaipur
What Are The Symptoms and Treatment for Coronary Artery Disease?

Your heart is the most important and vital organ of all and regulates the flow of heart to all parts of the body. Thus, the valves and the arteries which take the blood to your heart are also an important component in ensuring that the circulation is constant. Thus, any hindrance to this process will put a lot of pressure on your heart and lead to more serious problems in the long run. Coronary artery disease is one such problem and can seriously put the health of your heart at risk.

What is coronary heart disease?
Coronary arteries are very important blood vessels, which carry nutrients, blood and oxygen to your heart. If the level of bad cholesterol is high in your blood, it will start leaving deposits on the walls of the arteries which are commonly known as plaque. This plaque will start building up over time causing blockage of the arteries and disrupting proper blood flow. Excessive build up of the plaque may then rupture the lining of the plaque. This will then induce blood clotting and further prevent the normal flow of blood.

Symptoms
Primary symptoms may include

  1. Shortness of breathThis may occur while you are exercising or performing activities which are mildly exerting.
  2. Heart beats very hard and fast: Your heart may beat very hard and fast, especially when doing everyday activities such as climbing stairs or walking for a prolonged distance.
  3. Angina or chest painYou may experience pain in your chest as if someone was pressing against it with a lot of force. Angina is also triggered due to stressful activities or even emotional stress. It usually occurs on the left or the middle of the chest and may even be felt in the back, arms, and neck.
  4. Heart attackHeart attacks are the most common and the most serious complications of coronary heart disease. You would feel extreme pain, akin to crushing on your chest, shoulder, or arm. It may even be accompanied by jaw pain, and sweatiness.

Treatment
Non invasive forms of treatment are always preferable rather than invasive surgeries or procedures to treat coronary heart disease, especially where the risk of serious complications such as heart attack are still on the lower side. Some of the treatments used for coronary heart disease are as follows:

  1. Making lifestyle changes: Quit smoking, reduce alcohol consumption along with consumption of regulated diet will automatically start cleaning plaque that has built up within the arteries. Losing weight also tends to help.
  2. Medications: Special medications can take care of cases wherein the deposits are still lesser and the plaque buildup can be removed without the requirement of extensive surgery. Anti-cholesterol medications are one example of this.
  3. Surgical procedures: These are usually employed when the blockage is severe and cannot be corrected by the conventional methods mentioned above. Some of the procedures are angioplasty, stent placement, as well as coronary artery bypass surgery.

The advise is to visit a doctor for a formal health check up along with some tests like Blood, urine tests and ECG. The diagnosis depends upon the clinical findings and the reports. Sometime further tests like Treadmill test or 2D echo etc are suggested to rule out cardiac reasons for the chest pain. Please revert after that along with the doctors opinion and test reports for any further clarification.

It might be related to digestive problems or acid peptic disorder. You can change your lifestyle and watch for the symptoms. Diet and exercise are important aspects which can influence the general working of the body. So please start eating simple and freshly prepared homemade food in small portions. Drink enough water (8-10 glasses of water every day). Avoid all types of junk or outside food or beverages. Avoid tobacco and alcohol and limit the intake of other stimulants like tea and coffee. Exercise every day for 30 mins and increase the duration and intensity. Do Yoga and pranayam which can rectify most of the lifestyle problems if done consistently and correctly. If needed you can also take Homeopathy which is very effective and gentle on the body without any side-effects. You can contact me for further details regarding Homeopathic consultation.

1) Atorvastatin only reduces cholesterol and that has no proven role in treatment of aortic stenosis. 2) As far as side-effects with atorvastatin are concerned you should discuss with your treating doctor about dose reduction or some alternative. 3) Severe Aortic stenosis can only be treated by a valve replacement surgery. The surgery carries usual risk associated with a open heart bypass surgery and there is a risk of requiring a pacemaker post surgery, but the benefits of surgery outweigh the risks.
