Green tea is effective in weight loss as It contains many nutrients, including antioxidants and anti-cancer and brain-healthy compounds, Several studies have suggested that the flavonoids and caffeine in green tea can help elevate metabolic rate, increase fat oxidation and even improve insulin activity. While weight loss benefits vary based on different dynamics, they have been found by drinking as little as 2.5 cups of green tea per day. Do bring your water to a boil, but let it rest for about ten minutes. Then, pour the water over the tea and brew for about one minute before serving. Of course, the brew time can be made shorter or longer, depending on your taste.

A weight loss program is a marathon. While making up the mind to go for a weight loss program is the first step, there are other things to consider before plunging into the diet and exercise regime. Here is a list of 10 things to consider before a weight loss program--

  1. Not everything works for everyone- Just because a strict diet program helped someone to lose 5 pounds, doesn’t necessarily mean that it will work out for every single person. It is important to figure whether diet, exercise, workout or a combination of everything is required to lose weight.
  2. Make the environment conducive to match the goal- If the goal is to lose weight, it is essential to skip old habits. For instance, keeping a fruit bowl close by will refrain the thought of having a candy bar, skipping the idea of weekends parties for a while will help to stay away from few extra drinks, a leafy and salad rich lunch would help to stay away from the thought of fast food etc.
  3. The combination of exercise and diet is necessary- It is necessary to have a healthy mix of diet and exercise. This helps the body to lose weight fast while ensuring that the health is maintained at the same time.
  4. A plan comes handy- It is necessary to chalk out a plan to get into the weight loss program. For instance, 3 days of gym, 2 days of salad consumption for lunch, 3 days of walking after dinner etc. This will help to beat the monotony and keep the motivation going.
  5. Set a realistic goal- Losing too much weight in a short span of time is neither healthy nor realistic. It is, therefore, necessary to keep patience and work steadily towards the weight loss goal. An ideal time-frame could range from 3-6 months to attain the desired weight.

  8. A workout buddy can prove to be extremely beneficial- Since the process of losing weight is a lonely affair, it makes sense to find a workout buddy. This keeps the boredom of working out at bay and helps to get into a healthy competition.
  9. A food diary comes handy- While it is practically impossible to keep track all calorie consumption, a food diary will give a rough estimate of the calorie count consumed in a day. This will further help to design a diet for the week.
  10. Keeping many options open- It is not necessary to spend hours in the gym or only consume fruits to lose weight. Other alternatives such as cycling, swimming, adventure sport also help to lose weight. If you wish to discuss any specific problem, you can consult a bariatrician.

You need to take proper care during this time by including proteins in all the meals like milk, curd, panerr, buttermilk, sprouts, dal, egg, etc. Increase your water intake and give proper rest to your body.

How To Lose Weight With Endermology?

Fat and cellulite though are different forms of the fat cells must be eliminated from the body when in excess so that you can lead a better and healthier life. While removal of deep tissue fat which resides underneath skin is possible with many therapies, the cellulite which resides loosely adhered to the skin just under it, is stubborn and tough to remove. Liposuction is very popular as a relatively quick and safe cosmetic surgery to get rid of excess fat. At one time, the procedure was even touted as a better alternative to healthy diet and exercise. Regardless of such myths, liposuction is an important development in cosmetic surgery. Indeed in certain cases (of extreme weight gain) liposuction is the first surgical procedure performed on the patient. Like all surgeries, liposuction has a few do's and don'ts, and they are:

Do's
1. Keep your weight at a healthy level before surgery. The more the amount of fat is removed from your body, the greater the risks involved in surgery, which is why controlling your weight pre-surgery is important. Losing a large amount of weight leaves a lot of lose skin in your body, which can make your skin look saggy.
2. Wear your compression garments. Compression garments help your skin compress over the area where the fat used to be, leaving smooth, tight skin.
3. Continue exercising (with the go ahead of your doctor) after the procedure and follow a healthy diet to maintain your body.
4. Maintain gentle activity for two weeks after the procedure. This will help in removing fluid deposition in the surgical area and prevent complications.

Don'ts
1. Do not take anti inflammatory medicines like aspirin or ibuprofen as these medicines may cause bleeding complications. They also harm the body's immune system, which is detrimental to recovery.
2. Do not smoke or drink while recovering - Nicotine disturbs normal skin growth, which may lead to permanent scars, while alcohol interferes with the effect of some medicines.
3. Don't lift heavy objects or bend down immediately after the surgery. Your doctor will give you a more specific timeline as to when you can pursue such activities.
4. Don't expect results from day one. You will see results after you have recovered from the surgery.
5. Do not opt for liposuction specifically for weight loss. Liposuction is chiefly a procedure for shaping and contouring the fat in your body to give you that shape you always desired.

Sir. I started medication in the second week of April and checked for the first time on 19th June. Tsh level-2.50.t3-1.03 and t4-11.64.my rbs level was 96. lybrate-user Thanks for the query. Hypothyroidism is a hormone deficiency disease, where thyroid gland produces either less or almost nil thyroxine. This is an essential hormone for all the metabolic function in the body. When deficient it has to be supplemented daily for the whole lifetime. Hence the treatment is for lifetime. The levels mentioned are fairly normal. Same levels need to be maintained if you want to remain free from the symptoms. Plus looking at your weight and height it is clear that with a BMI of 28.44 kgs/M2, you are considerably over weight. (normal BMI < 23 kgs/M2). Therefore, you need to exercise and also take restricted food intake. Further if you are planning for a conception, then TSH has to be maintained around 2 mU/L. Otherwise efforts to concieve may not succeed. Also check your PP glucose level. If you have any doubts please do come back. Thanks.

Dear lybrate-user, the complaints you described suggest towards peptic ulcer syndrome. 1 never skip breakfast. 2 do not eat junk food. 3 avoid eating too much oily and spicy food 4 do not overeat. Eat only up to 2/3rd capacity of your stomach, leave 1/3rd portion empty. 5 take your meals regularly at regular intervals. 6 drink min 8 glasses if water daily. 7 consult a doctor for medicines. 8 check your thyroid profile.
