Recovery after surgery depends upon many factors: presence of health problems before surgery; why the surgery is required; what surgery is being done; problems or complications of surgery, anaesthesia or blood transfusions. Although there may not be any harm, it may be unwise to be normally active within 48 hours of procedure.
