First of all get a check up done. You could be suffering from appendicitis. Secondly to gain weight, eat more than required calories so that your body can store calories and grow. Eat 6 small meals throughout the day. Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. G. You can take natural food items like wheat grass which is full of essential nutrients which helps in weight gain. Try to be patient while you are on the process of weight gain. Results take time to show. Just follow this regimen and you will soon start seeing the results.

Our Daily energy requirements for proper functioning of our body is 1600-2200 K cal of Energy if we want to remain fit and healthy.But there is a misconception that weight is reduced by dieting.But weight is not reduced by only skipping our meals or prohibition from sugars but until we are not aware what are our body energy requirements ,it will be difficult to loose weight.If we restrict ourself from taking daily diet to 1100-1200 Kcalories ,and increases our workouts,only then we can think about reducing our weight and for that we must obtain proper knowledge of exact energy levels in a particular dish we are eating,only then we can achieve our target of reducing weight by means of simple mathematical calculation. Soy protein supplementation (50 grams per day) was as effective as the other protein types when it comes to boosting muscle mass during a strength training program. Interestingly, as some people have suggested, soy supplementation doesn’t seem to decrease testosterone or limit lean body mass gains. It’s important to note that similar studies have been done using soy-containing supplemental nutrition bars. And the results have been consistent.

Hi 1. Keep yourself hydrated. 2. Get extra rest for some days till you feel more energetic. 3. Avoid watching television for long hours. Indulge in relaxing activities. 4. Avoid stress and too much physical exertion. 5. Take a nutritious diet with more protein items in homemade food like soya, sprouts, dals, paneer, milk, seasonal fruits. 6. Do light physical activity, meditation and yoga. 7. Take one good multivitamin tablet after food for 7 days.

I am obese! I eat very little but do not go for walks, to eat 3 hours before sleep is not possible as after 12-14 hrs of work, come home have a drink or two have dinner and hit the bed. Hello, firstly, you need to avoid alcohol. Secondly, donot have heavy dinner, go for high fibre foods like veg oats, daliya, khichdi, salad bowl mixed with hung curd, soups, etc which will fill your stomach and will not lead to fat deposits. Atleast in morning 5-10 minutes of high intensity workout you should do.

You can try 'Yogic breathing' for 5 minutes every morning and evening. Take lots of water. Don't spend too much time over the Internet and Computer/Mobile games. Stay away from porn. Keep good company and discuss your issues with seniors/parents and I am sure by venting out your feelings you will feel better. Much better I can assure you.

The diet advised very correctly. For medicines, if there r joint pains then only medicines required otherwise dietary measures will suffice. If joint pains r there then take Febutaz/Feburic 40mg at bed time 1 tab for 3 months and recheck uric acid level after that and decide to continue the medicine or not depending upon the results.

All About Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is a type of cancer, which occurs due to the development of cancerous cells in breasts. Women are usually affected by breast cancer and breast cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer after skin cancer. Usually fatal if not diagnosed in its early stage, breast cancer is a very serious medical ailment. Read on more to find all about the different symptoms, causes, preventive measures and treatment of breast cancer.

Symptoms: Breast cancer has few distinct characteristics and if you have a few or all the following symptoms you could be more likely to suffer from breast cancer. 

  • The formation of a lump in your breast, which is different from the surrounding tissue and usually more thickened.
  • The discharge of bloody fluid  material from the nipples.
  • Sudden change of the size, shape and appearance of the breast.
  • Certain distinct changes to the skin over the breast for example an indentation in the skin similar to that of a dimple.
  • Appearance of an extra nipple which is inverted.
  • If the darkened area around the nipples known as the areola is flaking or peeling off. 

Causes: Studies and researches remain inconclusive on what causes breast cancer. Breast cancer occurs due to abnormal division of the cells located in the breast, which over time accumulate and form lumps. They
might spread to other parts of the body. Breast cancer is caused mainly due to a complex interaction of personal genetics, environment and lifestyle choices. Breast cancer can also be caused due to genetics as about 5% to 10% of cases are due to gene mutations which pass onto generations.

Risk factors: There are certain factors, which increase the probability of contracting breast cancer. Increasing age, personal and family history of breast cancer, obesity, radiation exposure, pregnancy at an older age, postmenopausal hormone therapy are some of the factors that increase the chances of breast cancer.

Treatment: Several forms of surgical methods exist to treat breast cancer. Depending on the condition and spread of the disease a suitable surgery is performed. These include mastectomy, lumpectomy, axillary lymph node dissection and removal of both breasts. Other forms of treatment include chemotherapy or the use of high doses of drugs to destroy cancerous cells. Radiation therapy where X-rays are used to destroy the cancer cells is also effective.

Hi Frozen shoulder takes a long time to heal. Some take few months others take 5 Years. If it's the pain that's troubling you, painkillers can be taken. If it's still severe steroid injections will help. Along with this physiotherapy has to be continued. Stiff shoulder needs stretching exercises. An orthopedician will help you further from here.

Diet chart to control & treat the diabetes. * in morning, drink 1-2 glass of luke warm water empty stomach & walk for 15 minutes to detoxy the body. In breakfast, take 2 chapatis of gram flour (besan) with a bowl of cooked vegetables (green leafy vegetables only) * in lunch take 2 chapattis of wheat flour with a bowl of cereals (dal) with a bowl of curd. * in evening, take a bowl of salads or a fruit like apple / orange / pear/ melon. * in night, take a bowl of boiled soyabeans with raw vegetables like tomatos/ cucumber/ onion. After dinner avoid taking milk & walk for atleast 15 minutes after dinner. * avoid food items like rice, potatos, banana, chiku, sweets, candy& chocolate.

My mother is 45 year old. Her overall body is well maintained but she has a large tummy. She does a lot of cardiac and yogic exercise but often complains about not sweating and her body getting heated up. According to a local doctor, this problem might arise due to insufficient amount of water intake but she takes around 2 to 3 litres of water everyday. Hye. Thankyou for the query. Firstly understand that you cannot depend on a single food or nutrient for memory or concentration. Its about an overall healthy diet and lifestyle. So, firstly try to follow a healthy diet including wholesome foods, less of junk and processed foods. To increase your intake of healthy fats include nuts, seeds like walnuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, clarified butter in moderate amounts and soy along with fresh fruits and vegetables. Be physically active. A sedentary body leads to a sedentary mind as well.
