I suggest you begin implementing one principle each week and watch your body stack on more muscle to your frame each week. Medicines only yield short term results.

Which Cooking Oil Should You Be Using?

While cooking, one ingredient you cannot be without is oil. This is an essential ingredient in all types of cooking and no matter how little you put, a significant amount will still get into your body. Thus, it is of prime importance that you choose your cooking oil carefully. There are options, which are healthier than others and it is advisable to lean more on these options compared to the normal ones available in the market.
Considerations before choosing healthy cooking oils

It is important to not get into the marketing hype of various brands, which claim to be healthy cooking oils. Basic ingredients, no matter how refined, will still dictate how healthy the oil is. Some facts to consider are:

  • You would want oils which are stable at high temperatures and don't oxidize easily. If oils oxidize easily, they form free radicals, which are harmful for your health.
  • Unhealthy oils, even at lower temperatures will form polyunsaturated fats and thus, look for oils which have less of it.

Healthy alternatives:
Here are some healthy alternatives to the commonly found vegetable oils which are high in polyunsaturated fats.

  1. Olive oil: One of the staples and heroes of the Mediterranean diet, olive oil has long been the favorite of healthy cooking champions. It is good for the heart as it lowers LDL and encourages the growth of good cholesterol or HDL. It is also very low in polyunsaturated fats. You should try to go for extra virgin olive oil, although other variations are still better than normal vegetable oils.
  2. Palm oil: Also low in polyunsaturated fats, palm oil is rich in vitamin E and many other nutrients which make it a very healthy alternative to the normal vegetable oils you would usually buy from the market.
  3. Coconut oil: This variety of oil tends to have the least amount of polyunsaturated fats and is being touted as the healthiest alternative to normal cooking oils. Coconut oil contains a lot of lauric acid which helps to improve cholesterol levels within the body and is also know to have antibacterial properties.
  4. Avocado oil: Another healthy alternative, it may be a little difficult to find in the shelves as it is still uncommon. Again, this oil is also very low in unsaturated fats and is thus, similar to olive oil. You can use this oil for cooking or serve it cold as garnishing for dishes as well.

Indian market offers variety in oils and one can choose from sesame, ricebran, sunflower, safflower, canola , coconut and pure ghee too. Changing or rotating oils is healthy as it gives the body different essential fatty acids which it needs; for example we need a healthy blend of mono -unsaturates (50%) polyunsaturates ((30%) and saturated fatty acids(20%). However, you should consult your physician as to, which oil will be best for you.

Bananas are full of calories and contain high amount of carbohydrates and potassium that give you instant energy. Whosoever want to gain weight must eat a banana daily in the morning with a glass of warm milk. Add a teaspoon of sugar in it. Moreover, you can also have it after your meals.

Hello, to be fit you need to take enough, protein, vitamins minerals, fiber, and good fatty acids in your diet, but unknowingly we are not getting all these in our diet. Let me suggest you best natural source of supplements to fill this gap. Especially if we are working in a ac environment, we have better chances to expose to all new kind of diseases, like vitamin-d devifiency, diabetes, cholesterol. Etc etc. Let me suggest you the who certified good supplements. Also do some physical activities every day for 1 hour. Drink more water in a day. Read books for peace of mind. Weight increase may be due to hormonal imbalance, more sugar intake, carbohydrates in excessive, lack of exercises, poor life style and large amount of food intake or may be due to any medical conditions. Take proper diet and exercise regularly. Reduce sugar and carbohydrates intake. Drink one glass of water before taking meal and take small meal at a time. Avoid fat, oily and junk in food. I have been having this constant recurring negative thoughts since couple of months. I cannot focus at anything. I have developed a habit of being at comfort zone. Likewise my interactive skills are vastly deteriorating and my mind goes blank while talking with people. I am even afraid to do basic things like going out for shopping, utility bill payment, etc. I also feel that someone is watching. Nd if someone laughs at their own matter I feel like they are laughing at me. Last year I was diagnosed with chronic depression and went through cbt and felt okay for around 4-5 months but all of a sudden I started having panic attacks and so on as I described above. Please tell me am I going mad?

You are very sensitive. Negative thoughts come to everyone but no one give priority. But you are giving high priority. I think you are in alone thinking all things excessively that may be reason to develop this type of thoughts. Do regular exercise, make sure you have a good protein source in your diet such as soyabean, sattu with milk, eggs, milk and milk products, combination of cereals and pulses, take healthy and heavy breakfast, no drink before meals. Bread, cereal, rice, whole wheat, dalia, and pasta, biscuits and corn-bread are good source of carbohydrates.

I have cold, wet cough with fever and my body is paining from last 5 day plzz suggest me medicine which effected fastly because my marriage is on 22 feb.

1. Take one tablet of paracetamol 500mg 2-3 times daily after food 2. Do warm saline gurgling and steam inhalation with karvol plus inhalant capsule 3-4 times daily 3. Put otrivin nasal drop one drop thrice daily 4. Take viscodyne d syrup 2tsf thrice daily 4. You may have to take antibiotic along with it if no relief 5. Consult me for further advice.

I am gaining weight year after year. I was 60kg at 15years of age. Now I am 101kg at 31+ of age. 41 kg within last 16yrs. Around 2.5kgs per year gained. Shoulder 44" waist 38. How to reduce all these?

Hi thanks for your query. Normally soft tissue swelling may take 2-3 weeks to disappear and maybe even longer depending upon site and kind of injury. Anyways do intensive ice packs if it is an acute phase of injury, take short course of analgesics according to one which suits you, and do not indulge in heavy physical activity as of now, compressive bandages also help depending upon location of your injury. Hello less weight is sometimes common according to age. Ayurveda believes in digestion not into giving heavy food for weight gain. According to ayurveda, food which are easy to digest but nutrient can gain weight. But I need detait history for perfact solution. Like your appetite? bowel habits sleeping habits kind of your work or job life style diet etc. But till you can do following: take daal rice more. Use cow ghee n milk. Avoid over eating start massage with til oil in morning, after that, do exercise whatever you want then bath focus in yourself avoid stress anger fear take ajvayan 1 tsp after meal. Dear you can easily gain weight and get a healthy muscular body by following these best things - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly. If you have any disease of digestive system you should treat disease first. For proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. Or take 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (kali mirch), 1/ 2 tea spoon of jeera (cumin), 2-3 slice of ginger. Boil it in one glass of water for 2-3 minutes. Drink 5-10 teaspoons (15-20 ml) in morning and evening for strong digestive system. Or you can take amla powder 1 teaspoon with water for strong digestion. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. I am sending the diet chart. Follow it in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid soft drinks, western fast food (burgers, french fries, pizza etc. They disturb your digestion. 6. You can try protein powders like endura mass, milk powder, soya protein. And creatinine for weight gain by taking 1 tea spoon added in milk once a day.

Follow the following tips:- · Pay attention to your health and food intake. · To increase your appetite, have a glass of lime water or 1 cardamom (elaichi) before your meal. · Have minimum 4 meals in a day. · Drink 1 glass of milk twice a day. · Try to enjoy your meals and gradually increase the quantity you eat every time. · A balance diet should have all essential nutrients in it. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It should include combination of Both Carbohydrates and Proteins for e.g. Oats with Milk or Poha/ Upma with a glass of milk. If you do not like milk have 1-2 egg whites in the morning along with your breakfast. · You need to focus on your protein intake : Increase your protein intake e.g. milk, dairy products- cheese, paneer, lentils (dals), nuts ( soya, peanuts, dry fruits ), pulses e.g. rajma, chole, kidney beans etc. sprouts. If you are a non-vegetarian, then you can have proteins by also eating eggs, chicken, fish. Make sure you are including at least 2 serving of any of these in your daily meal. · Lunch and dinner again should be a combination of Proteins, Carbohydrates and Fats which could have dal, roti, sabji/chicken, salad. · Please do have minimum 4 almonds or a small bowl of peanuts every day. · Please ensure that you drink at least 3 litres of water every day.
