Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Hello, 1. You can apply volini gel 1% local application twice a day for 3-5 days 2. Hot fomentation twice a day for 3 days I am giving to some common reasons for leg pain 1. Generalized weakness 2. Anaemia 3. Physical exertion and any trauma 4. Lack of protein in diet 5. Any infection present on leg or foot 6. Muscle weakness 7. Abrupt start/ stop of physical exercise 8. Vit d and calcium deficiency kindly consult physician for further management.

Dear keep on changing your position frequently and do some stretching exercises after every 45minutes. Drink lots of water nowadys. Make sure your back is supported back of your seat. Avoid bending forward while sitting. Hope pain is not coming to your legs.

Hi, looking at the details mentioned her sugar levels look good. In fact fasting should come down to about 100 mg. Walking 500 mts is as good as doing nothing. She is already over weight with a bmi of 25.44 kg / m2 (normal <23 kg/m2). Her ideal body weight should be 45 kgs. So weight reduction is a necessity. Anginal pain usually comes on exertion. If you have any doubt get an ecg done to see if there is any problem or a stress test (tmt). But as regards diabetes control she needs to increase her walking to at least 45 minutes plus.

When the knees touch each other it is called knock knees (medical term is valgus knees). Since it's a mechanical problem the only way of setting it right is by surgery. The type of surgery will depend on your age and the condition of the knee joint surface.

I am 60 years old. I am regular at gym for more than 10 years and do cardio every day for about an hour. Of late I am having pain in both my knee caps and also lower back (on the left hip). What do I do. Do I have to stop my regular tread mill exercise then what is the alternative.

Alternative to treadmill is walking on sandy or soft surface. Cycling is another option which avoids weight on knees. Swimming is also good exercise.

Hi I am 57 years old male. Undergone bypass in apr 2007 at delhi heart and lungs institute. In aug 1999 gal bladder and cyst over pancreas was removed at sir ganga ram hospital. Sugar wef 2004. Presently, taking medicines as under:-glimysave m2 forte (one each in morning and evening), zivast 10, ziram 5, ceruvin a 75+75 and betaloc 25 (one tablet each at night). Sir there was stroked in my left knee, its became pain in back ven of my knee. I massage it with oil. I consult a doctor, docotr drain 60 ml water from knee and give medicine gluserine pluse 30 tablet, syprox-200 20 tablets and fenola-sp 20 tablet and long knee brace for wear to straight the leg for 3 week. Sir, you probably had a left knee effusion. After tapping was the fluid sent for analysis? if so with your medical records kindly consult a rheumatologist to find out cause for knee swelling as many are there.

As per your description if you back pain aggravate by walking and stretching mostly it is due to compression in your nerves - sciatica disease you have to be take precaution like maintain normal posture while sitting. Avoid long sitting and long route driving. Avoid forward bending. Take care of your digestive system means you shouldn't have constipation or gas problem. Apply some medicated oil on your back and do hot fomentation.

Prolonged working on laptop/tv/mobile can cause computer vision syndrome. Computer vision syndrome is a condition resulting from focusing the eyes on a computer or other display device for, uninterrupted periods of time. Some symptoms of cvs include a. Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually pain at calf/leg region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to tendons, nerves, blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp once you have all these reports then you can contact me as I can advise you for proper supplementation do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Hello. Maintain a right standing and sitting posture, keep your back always straight (even while sitting or standing), avoid carrying weight on back. Hold or carry weight divided equally in both the hands or shoulders (to avoid over straining on one particular hand or shoulder). Always select a chair with proper back support and hand-rest. (Excessive sitting or standing is to be avoided as well don’t carry much weight on shoulders). Apart from these, stress could be the major cause of pains! Exercise: Practice Shavasana or Corpse Pose as it looks like a dead body. If practiced correctly and with full efforts, can relax every body part, relaxing not only the body but also the mind: Spread the legs one to two feet apart, the toes are turned outwards, the heels facing each other, a comfortable distance apart. Bring the arms a little away from the body, palms turned upward. Relax the neck and allow it to turn to the side if it is more comfortable. Close the eyes and focus the attention on the body, breathing normally. Begin focusing each body part and relaxing it, then moving on. Keep the mind focused on relaxation, the breath should be normal. Relax the whole body. Management: -Sit straight with a back-rest or back-support. -Stretching or activities that place additional strain on the back are discouraged. -Sleeping with a pillow between the knees while lying on one side may increase comfort. -Lying on your back with a pillow under your knees would also relieves pain and no pillow under your head. -Some people seem to benefit from the use of ice or heat. Take care, do not use a heating pad on ‘high’ or place ice directly on the skin. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Arnica 200 and Rhus Tox. 200 - take both of them thrice daily for 1 week. Also, apply Schwabe's Topi-Arnica and Topi MP Gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. Get back to me thereafter.

Hi, is back pain more in night, any mild fever in night, any weight loss, any loss of apetitte, any radiation to leg, is pain more with bending. Etc. Need to evaluate your back pain requires examination, blood tests, x ray. Mri etc. Pl consult orthospine surgeon.

Kindly show me a photograph & digital X RAYS of affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit.D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.
