Usually in young females, it's because of Vitamin D deficiency and calcium deficiency along with back muscles weakness. You need to strengthen your back muscles. Calcium and Vitamin D medicines will help.

During an acute attack sleep with a pillow under the knees. Choose shoes that offer good support in the arch and have low, but not flat, heels. Prop up one foot on a box or low stool when you're standing for a long time. Use a chair that provides support for your back, or tuck a little pillow behind your lower back. Tips to improve balance/alignment/motion: lift your leg so your thigh is parallel to the ground while touching a wall. Hold it for five breaths. For alignment, move side to side while sitting on a balance ball. For motion, try moving forward and backward on the ball. Consult for homoeopathic treatment.

3 years ago I had an accident which broken my fibula and tibia, I had operation and now I can walk, run normally but my leg is more bulgy than the other leg it is also skinny at the fracture point, what should I do to regain original shape of my leg.

My mom's having intense pain in her knees at regular intervals due to arthritis! what should we do (except the replacement) to keep her knees in a gopd condition? Please Suggest the best remedies and the prevention. Thanks in advance!

Knee surgery-total knee replacement (tkr) surgery is quite safe & gives uniformly good results, if done in a well equipped center. We have such centers in delhi with competent joint replacement surgeons. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem. Physiotherapy along with medicines will help. Do knee exercises. It may have to be further investigated rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with a soft bedding on it. Any way take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days she will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Don't ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hi, I am a regular runner and I make sure 1 hour of my day is spend outdoor and active. I jo 3 km daily, toe jogging. In July I got a sprain and since then I am staying away from jog or any physical activity that pressure my sprained ankle, rigt leg. Can I do household chores, will it cause more pressure on my ankle. How long will it take to heal. My doctor examined and said it might be a muscle tear. What could I do to recover faster. Good to know that you have an active routine. I wonder why you are doing 'Toe jogging' It does not help at all. Just run naturally. Your injury will heal in 3-4 weeks. Give it rest. Don't worry about labels like 'muscle tear' etc. Everything will heal. You don't have to stop completely, but your pain will indicate where to stop. Take extra Calcium and Vit D. Take more milk and milk products. Women are prone to Osteoporosis, though you are still young for that. However its better to take precautions. You can consult a Homeopath. They have good meds for such injuries. Take care and you will be back on the track soon.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Well diet alone may not sole his problems although recommendation will be for diabetic diet with high calcium containing diet, fresh fruits and vegetables although you can get a diet chart planned for him from a good nutritionist. Also my advice will be to get some blood tests done for him empty stomach like: cbc, esr, crp, serum electrolytes, serum vitamin d levels and send these reports across to me so that I can advise for adequate supplementation as well. Hello dear, persistent feelings of tiredness, loss of interest & vague body symptoms of pain (creeping bones you said) is suggestive of depression. Hello, duchenne muscular dystrophy is x linked recessive disorder. Which means female can be carrier of the disease but remain unaffected from the disease & can pass on the disease to their son. Unfortunately there is no effective treatment for the condition. As far as diagnostic tests are concerned raised C kinase level in blood indicates Muscular dystrophy. Deficiency of dystrophy protein also indicates DMD. You can also go for muscle biopsy hopefully it clears you doubt.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day

Hi lybrate-user! Its good that you are an active gym goer .Start with back strengthening exercises, avoid lifting weights for sometime. Be careful while forward bending. Meet a physiotherapist and plan your exercise regime.
