Hi I can understand your problem. # relax & stay positive. # take hot and cold fomentation. # learn posture care exercise. # use lumber support. # take break every 20 minutes. # do strengthening exercise of back and core muscles not all back pains are same. Do share investigation reports if you have any.

Hi, my grandma is 86 years old she has swelling all over body and heart beatings are more if she walks few steps also. Her food intake also very less. Can you give us any suggestion for her treatment.

Hello,if the x-ray is clear, that means you dont have any bony injury...but there may be some soft tissue injury in the knee joint which can only be seen in MRI or get a proper examination of your knee from an orthopedic to know what is the exact problem.In the meanwhile just avoid exerting your knee a lot,wear a knee support and avoid doing any exercises like squatting,lifting etc.ALSO take precautions like cross legged sitting ,climbing stairs up and down,using of indian toilet.Do icing 3-4 times a day and keep your leg elevated.

Tail bone pain is referred to as coccydynia for which anti inflammatory medication, sitz bath, cushioned surfaces for sitting etc is recommended. Hello Lybrate user .ther are many causes of arch pain .one of them is having a flat foot we called it pes cavus. But you haven't mentioned about that whether you have or nt .so I would suggest you to do contrast bath .it is immersion of feet first initially in hot and than in cold in 3minut :1 minute ratio and do calf and fascia stretches (structure below heel), wear loose fitted shoes and put insole in shoes if you hav flat foot condition. Do regular back strengthening exercises. Reduce your two wheeler journey as much as possible by properly planning and scheduling areas you cover. Check shock ups every 3 months.

My mother (50 yrs) has pains in the knee joints from last 4 yrs so please suggest some prescription.

This could be due to oa knee &/or obesity. Physiotherapy along with medicines will help. Do knee exercises. It may have to be further investigated rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with a soft bedding on it. Any way take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. I have gone through the details given, it is difficult to come to any conclusion as to what is the reason for swelling in legs. I need to know following things: Does he have high BP? Is he on treatment or not? If on treatment what are the drugs with dosage. Is he having diabetes or any thyroid problem (Hypothyroidism)? Unless all the details are known, I will not be able to give any opinion. There is normally no major food restriction than salt intake control. Thanks.

Start with physiotherapy sessions and learn exercise for spine. Don't sit on floors. Don't lift heavy things. Use lumber spine belt also. Take calcium and methylcobalamine supplement with omega3 for three months minimum.

Hi you can relieve short-term joint pain with a few simple techniques at home. 1) protect the joint with a brace or wrap. 2) rest the joint, avoiding any activities that cause you pain. 3) ice the joint for about 15 minutes, several times each day. 4) compress the joint using an elastic wrap. 5) elevate the joint above the level of your heart. 6) if you are overweight do exercise like swimming or cycling to reduce weight. Still you don't get relief consult me via lybrate as further investigation may be needed.

Hello, first of all you should know what is backache and by which factors it caused and aggravated. The usual cause of low back pain is the sedentary lifestyle that we lead these days. There is hardly any movement. walking, running and cycling like activities are also not a part of our daily routine. To add to it, our diet consists more and more of junk food. Fresh fruits, vegetables and high fibre foods are consumed less and less. These daily practices lead to obesity. The increased body weight puts lot of pressure on the spine which has to bear all the extra unwanted weight. The back muscles which are already weak due to lack of exercise and wrong posture are unable to cope with this increased load. This causes pain in the back muscles. Management for Back Pain:-Along with medicines for relieving pain, one needs to identify the cause and correct it. This may require some medicines or some correction in your posture or reducing weight or improving your lifestyle. At the same time, there is a need to work on the local muscle strengthening. Back muscles need to be strengthened so that they can bear the weight of the upper body. For this exercises of the back muscles are very helpful. Regular walking is also very helpful as it is a wholesome exercise of the body, improves blood circulation and helps lose weight. Most importantly if you are overweight then losing weight is an important part of the whole treatment plan .Long term use of painkillers for low back pain is harmful Treatment for back pain:- Homeopathic medicines are very helpful. They not only treat the acute stages but are also used for the treatment of chronic back pain.Selection of the exact remedy depends upon the individual symptoms of the person.So share the complete symptom picture for the proper treament. Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

1) do massage with warm sesame oil or suitable oil for 15 min. Afterwards take hot fomentation for 10 min. 2) start natural calcium supplement. 3) do regular stretching exercise 4) in yoga do bhujangasan, halasan & suryanamaskar. Life-style correction 1) correct your sitting posture. 2) take small pillow or back rest for lower back. 3) foot should rest to floor easily. 4) take small break after 1 hr & walk few steps. 5) do neck & upper back extension.
