Hand pain can be caused by anything from a trapped nerve to an underlying disease such as arthritis. If the pain persists even after resting your hand and taking painkillers, or if you have other symptoms and are uncertain of the cause, please consult a orthopedic or physiotherapist for detail assessment and management of your pain. In the meantime try few self care: use rest, ice, compression, and elevation (rice) for pain and swelling. Avoid sleeping on your hands, which may decrease blood flow to your fingers. Stop, change, or take a break from your activities.

Hi…This problem is due to irritation and inadequate nutrition of the brain. So follow few basic things …. 1) drink only 100-150 ml of water during meals …. 2) don’t drink water one hour before meals and one hour after meal… 3) avoid oily, spicy, salty, junk, fast, fermented and stale foods… 4) avoid coffee and tea… 5) try to sleep upto 10.30 pm … 6) do anuloma viloma pranayam and omkar chanting regularly early in the morning… A) eat 30-40 black currants and 1 tsf of jaggery during meals… B) take 250 ml of fresh butter milk during meals. C) instill 3-4 drops of CHANDANADI TAILA in each nostril at the time of sleeping…… Do all these things for 15 days. It gives you good result. Consult to me for further suggestions. THANKS.

Weight Gain Diet It is not a good idea of Increasing intake of junk foods and fatty foods to gain weight. You should be eating calorie dense yet nutritious food. Your calorie intake should come from foods that are healthy for you. The weight gaining diet should include high protein foods, high carbohydrate foods and healthy fats. Include these in your diet. Breakfast: Banana and milk or banana shake or smoothie, whole-grain toast, fruits, nuts. Eat more fruit and drink less juice. Do not take milk mixed with ghee . It is not healthy. Lunch: Roti or chapatti or wholegrain bread, rice, green vegetables, paneer, dal, chole recipe, black-eyed beans (lobia), rajma, whole wheat pudding (dalia), etc Dinner: Similar to lunch In-between meals:: fruit, sandwich, yogurt (curd), milk, cheese, salad Avoid deep fried snacks like samosa (samosa recipe), pakodas, bhujia etc. Avoid fast foods

Are you aware that shaking hands can be an early sign of thyroid disease?

Yes, that's right! Even in patients who have a low thyroid function, shaking of hands can appear when the dose of thyroxine becomes too high - and it can be a reliable indicator to titrate the dose (which means, if an increase in dose of thyroxine makes the hands start shaking, then the dose should be reduced). In hyperthyroidism (or excessive thryoxine hormone synthesis states in the body), one of the cardinal symptoms is shaking of the hands.

So how do you know for sure it is due to thyroid hormone excess? And how do you differentiate this from other kinds of tremor?

Hello, -Increase your Vitamin C intake (lemon,orange,gooseberry,etc.Fruits/juices, strawberries, sweet peppers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, and green peas). - Eat more Vitamin A (nonfat milk, oysters, and egg yolks, carrots, watermelon, papaya, tomatoes, or other dark colored produce) . If you feel your skin is weak or not tight enough, that usually suggests a lack of Vitamin A. Medicine: You can also use homoeopathic cream - Medicynth's Whitch Hazel daily at night. Home remedies: Apply fresh-squeezed lemon juice to your entire face and neck. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. After this, rub cucumber slices on your skin to soften and moisturize it. Do this daily or every other day. Another option is squeeze the juice of one-half lemon and mix one to two tablespoons of raw honey in it. Apply it on your face, leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse it off. Make a paste of 'Kasturi Manjal' (wild turmeric) with rose petals, saffron and raw milk which is very effective. To exfoliate your skin, mix two teaspoons each of lemon juice and sugar. Apply the mixture on your face, neck and hands. Scrub in a circular motion and leave it on for 10 minutes. Then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Follow this remedy once a week to enjoy glowing skin. Mix one tablespoon of turmeric powder with enough pineapple juice to make a paste. Apply the paste to your face and neck. Leave it on until the paste dries completely. Then wash it off with lukewarm water. Follow this remedy two or three times a week to reduce the appearance of spots on skin.

Hi, you need proper guidance dear. For a start you can follow these steps. Firstly, do not skip any major meals like breakfast, lunch and dinner. Try to avoid the obvious junk like burgers, pizza, fries, noodles, samosa, vada pav and refined foods like farsan/namkeen, biscuits, khari. Try to have a big bowl of salad twice daily with main meals. Incorporate at least 30-40 min of brisk walk/any exercise for minimum of 4 days in a week. Include fruits in between the mail meals like mid-morning and evening.

Dear Lybrate User, you may have come across a number of gimmicking advertisement of medicines which claim to decrease body weight in a very short time. Don’t fall prey for such advertisement because the excess weight would not be shredded until each & every underlying cause of being overweight is diagnosed & treated. Normally 1 kg of fat occupies thrice the volume than that of 1 kg of muscle. That’s why accumulation of fat makes a person so bulky whereas body-builders have a shredded physique although most of the body-builders are overweight according to the BMI index. So it is evident that to lose the excess weight you have to get rid of the excess fat in your body. Now the basic role behind the process of accumulation of fat in human body is played by Metabolism. Metabolism is the set of life-sustaining chemical transformations within the cells of living organisms. The three main purposes of metabolism are the conversion of food/fuel to energy to run cellular processes, the conversion of food/fuel to building blocks for proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, and some carbohydrates, and the elimination of nitrogenous wastes. In order to lose the excess fat you need to increase your rate of metabolism. First of all you need to rule out the possibility of the presence of any hormonal disturbance that may be affecting your metabolism. Just conduct a total Thyroid profile test of all your blood (also Serum Testosterone level in case of males). If the reports are within normal limits then you should proceed further to increase your metabolism. If you find any abnormalities in the report you should immediately consult a doctor.

Mix three teaspoons of lemon juice, one teaspoon of honey, and one-half teaspoon of black pepper powder in one cup of water..If you use freshly ground black pepper, then just add one-quarter teaspoon...Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach....Do this daily for at least three months..

You have to follow some basic things so that you get better results in a short period of time. 1) take solid diet two times in a day and liquid diet two times in a day 2) drink only 100-150 ml of lukewarm water during meals . 3) don’t drink water before meal for one hour and one hour after meal 4) avoid oily, spicy, junk, fermented and stale foods. 5) avoid late night sleeping habits 6) avoid coffee and tea. A) take 40 ml of DAAAIMAVLEHA after meals along with 30 ml of water. B) take 4 tablets of sutshekhar rasa after meals C) Eat 1 tsf of flax seeds after meals, do all things for 7 days. This formulation is 100% effective.

Hi take pranacharya no tens capsule 1_1 twice a day. 1-1 drop of cow ghee in both nostrils at night time before sleep. Take shirshooladi vajra ras twice a day with honey. Avoid tea and coffee.

I am a 30 year old woman and have migraine for last 7 year. Before six years back I took treatment but some reason I leave it in middle. But again I have frequently headache for last 4 months. What should I do?

In case of acute pain take tablet brufen twice daily with tablet rantac empty stomach for 3 days. If symptoms persist take tablet rizatriptan sos only once in 24 hrs period not more than that. Take tablet beta cap plus once daily night time for 3 months. Avoid precipitating factors like tension, stress, direct sunlight exposure, excessive work load, literally anything can precipitate migraine.

Sun exposure is a trigger for headache or migraine. You can follow these lifestyle modifications to get relief and avoid headache. 1. Avoid going out in sun, if possible use an umbrella, wear reflective sunglasses glasses and cap. 2. Take adequate liquids in form of water/ juices/ buttermilk in hot months. 3. If headache is severe you can take over the counter available analgesics like paracetamol for relief. 4. If you have persistent headache problems consult again as you might be benefitted with preventive medications.
