Please do following blood test. Cbc with esr ra test with titer s. Uric acid. And other following investigation. X ray knee if needed please do mri of your knee. Inflammation may have some reason. Please go through following treatment option.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You pain in your shoulder region is only since 2 days for which no specific management is required if there is no significant history of any injury or any other s/s of inflammation or infection like swelling, skin redness or local warmth etc. You can start with ice packs, anti inflammatory medications which suits you, avoiding physical activities and observe for a period of 5-7 days, if your symptoms are getting better, then it's ok otherwise we will have to investigate you further. Congratulations for your baby girl first. 1.1st avoid any kind of painkillers 2. Ask you guynic doc for teaching proper placement of the body on bed 3. Frequently change your position on bed 4. Avail physiotherapy electrical modalities to get rid out of pain like-minded interferential therapy (ift)+moist heat (mht) over your back area. Apply warm water fomentation over seize area. 5. You can use postnatal abdominal support belt 6. Join group exercise class like aerobics/ yoga after 6 months of delivery.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Last year i met an accident n hurt my knee..it took one month for wounds to heal but after that i hv pain .i took phsio but after fw daz again pain came bck..there is still swelling on the side of a knee

Dear Sanjana, Many Thanks for asking about your concern. The discomfort in the knee along with swelling suggest something that is still triggering and leading to these symptoms. A good thorough clinical assessment by Physiotherapist & Orthopedic Doctor can reveal the primary diagnosis aided with MRI to confirm it. Depending on the the diagnosis and presenting symptoms, a treatment plan can be worked out which can include exercises, local therapeutic modalities, and if necessary arthroscopic surgery (key hole procedure) by Orthopedic Surgeon. The condition is named as Mortan's Neuroma. Treatment is usually conservative , surgery is considered if condition is too serious. Padding, Icing, orthotics can improve your symptoms. I would suggest you to go to orthopaedist or an expert physio only to get it diagnosed. Thank you !

Hello, tk, a leave for a few days from gym. Use the under noted homoeo medicine for relieving pain. @'arnica mont 200-6 pills, thrice a day. Tk, plenty of water to hydrate yourself. Tk, protein rich diet, apples, cheese, milk, soya been, rajama, almonds, walnuts, potatoes, spinach. Ensure sound sleep for at least 7 hrs. Avoid, caffiene, nicotine, alcohol, junk food. Tk, care.

Go for brisk walk 45 minute daily. Take 3 cup green tea daily (jasmine flavour). Have diet rich in fruits vegetable salads & multigrain aata roti avoid rice, deserts, and fried stuffed. Drink 2-3 liters water in a day.

considering your age & profession your knee pain may be due to osteoporosis. massage with hot sesame oil for 10 to 15 min 2 times a days after massage give hot fomentation for 5 min. improve diet . do light stretching exercise daily. start milk + 2 spoon cow ghee on empty stomach, dry fruits will help you , like akrod & badam(almond). start Ayurvedic calcium suppliment to strenghten joint . dry khajur is good source of calcium.

Go to physiotherapy clinic learn some knee isometric and isotonic exercise and walking is ok but you should wear the knee cap while walking slowly increase the time of total exercise.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. If by waist pain you mean pain in lower back region, then I can help you. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Arthritis And Homoeopathic Treatment

Arthritis is very common but is not well understood. Actually, 'arthritis' is not a single disease; it is an informal way of referring to joint pain or joint disease. There are more than 100 different types of arthritis and related conditions. People of all ages, sexes and races can and do have arthritis, and it is the leading cause of disability. More than 50 million adults and 300, 000 children have some type of arthritis. It is most common among women and occurs more frequently as people get older.

Common arthritis joint symptoms include swelling, pain, stiffness and decreased the range of motion. Symptoms may come and go. They can be mild, moderate or severe. They may stay about the same for years, but may progress or get worse over time. Severe arthritis can result in chronic pain, inability to do daily activities and make it difficult to walk or climb stairs. Arthritis can cause permanent joint changes. These changes may be visible, such as knobby finger joints, but often the damage can only be seen on x-ray. Some types of arthritis also affect the heart, eyes, lungs, kidneys and skin as well as the joints.

There are different types of arthritis:

Degenerative arthritis
Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis. When the cartilage - the slick, cushioning surface on the ends of bones - wears away, bone rubs against bone, causing pain, swelling and stiffness. Over time, joints can lose strength and pain may become chronic. Risk factors include excess weight, family history, age and previous injury (an anterior cruciate ligament, or acl, tear, for example).

When the joint symptoms of osteoarthritis are mild or moderate, they can be managed by:

Balancing activity with rest

Using hot and cold therapies

Regular physical activity

Maintaining a healthy weight

Strengthening the muscles around the joint for added support

Using assistive devices

Taking over-the-counter (otc) pain relievers or anti-inflammatory medicines

Avoiding excessive repetitive movements

If joint symptoms are severe, causing limited mobility and affecting the quality of life, some of the above management strategies may be helpful, but joint replacement may be necessary.

Osteoarthritis can prevent by staying active, maintaining a healthy weight, and avoiding injury and repetitive movements.

Inflammatory arthritis
A healthy immune system is protective. It generates internal inflammation to get rid of the infection and prevent disease. But the immune system can go awry, mistakenly attacking the joints with uncontrolled inflammation, potentially causing joint erosion and may damage internal organs, eyes and other parts of the body. Rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis are examples of inflammatory arthritis. Researchers believe that a combination of genetics and environmental factors can trigger autoimmunity. Smoking is an example of an environmental risk factor that can trigger rheumatoid arthritis in people with certain genes.

With autoimmune and inflammatory types of arthritis, early diagnosis and aggressive treatment are critical. Slowing disease activity can help minimize or even prevent permanent joint damage. Remission is the goal and may be achieved through the use of one or more medications known as disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs). The goal of treatment is to reduce pain, improve function, and prevent further joint damage.

Infectious arthritis
A bacterium, virus or fungus can enter the joint and trigger inflammation. Examples of organisms that can infect joints are salmonella and shigella (food poisoning or contamination), chlamydia and gonorrhea (sexually transmitted diseases) and hepatitis c (a blood-to-blood infection, often through shared needles or transfusions). In many cases, timely treatment with antibiotics may clear the joint infection, but sometimes arthritis becomes chronic.

Metabolic arthritis
Uric acid is formed as the body breaks down purines, a substance found in human cells and in many foods. Some people have high levels of uric acid because they naturally produce more than is needed or the body can't get rid of the uric acid quickly enough. In some people the uric acid builds up and forms needle-like crystals in the joint, resulting in sudden spikes of extreme joint pain, or a gout attack. Gout can come and go in episodes or, if uric acid levels aren't reduced, it can become chronic, causing ongoing pain and disability.

Diagnosing arthritis

Arthritis diagnosis often begins with a primary care physician, who performs a physical exam and may do blood tests and imaging scans to help determine the type of arthritis. An arthritis specialist, or rheumatologist, should be involved if the diagnosis is uncertain or if arthritis may be inflammatory. Rheumatologists typically manage ongoing treatment for inflammatory arthritis, gout, and other complicated cases. Orthopedic surgeons do joint surgery, including joint replacements. When arthritis affects other body systems or parts, other specialists, such as ophthalmologists, dermatologists or dentists, may also be included in the health care team.

Homeopathy is one of the most popular holistic systems of medicine. The selection of remedy is based upon the theory of individualization and symptoms similarity by using a holistic approach. This is the only way through which a state of complete health can be regained by removing all the sign and symptoms from which the patient is suffering. The aim of homeopathy is not only to treat arthritis but to address its underlying cause and individual susceptibility. As far as therapeutic medication is concerned, several well-proved medicines are available for homeopathic treatment of arthritis that can be selected on the basis of cause, location, sensation, modalities and extension of the complaints. For individualized remedy selection and treatment, the patient should consult a qualified homeopathic doctor in person. Some important remedies are given below for the homeopathic treatment of arthritis:

Bryonia alba. - pain with inflammation which, is aggravated by movement and relieved by moderate pressure and rest.
Ledum pal. - excellent remedy for gout and rheumatism which is of ascending nature, better by cold application.
Rhus tox. - pain aggravated by first movement, damp weather and better by continuous motion.
Colchicum - pain worse by motion touch or mental effort, better by warmth and rest.
Kalmia lot. - descending type of pain, pain with palpitation of heart and slow pulse
Guaiacum. - gouty abscesses of joints, pain relieved by cold bath and cold application.
Calcaria carb. - arthritic swelling, knee pain especially in fleshy people which is worse by the cold.
Benzoic acid - gouty concretions of joints, knee pain due to abnormal deposition of uric acid
Hypericum. - the remarkable remedy for rheumatoid arthritis has outstanding action over nerve pain.

You should visit to orthopedic doctor for proper investigation for the cause of trouble and specific treatment. Maintain right posture of the body because most of the time cause of backache is postural. Eat calcium rich food. Avoid forward bending and overexertion of the spines. Rest on firm mattress. Do mild and bearable exercise of back.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

. Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Consult after 5 days. For further guidance and treatment.
