Hi lybrate-user The real problem occurs when a person who is on weight loss regime, have to lose belly or abdominal fat. All the exercises, jogs, food, diet plans, etc work great on our body except on the belly. The stubborn belly fat is the hardest one to reduce and take months to get in shape. You need to follow different diet plans and exercises to reduce belly fat. And we have some tips for you on how to reduce belly fat. Say no to sugar Avoid sugary food and beverages if you want to cut down the abdominal or belly fat. They are extremely unhealthy and can badly affect the metabolic health. Sugar is half fructose and half glucose, fructose only be metabolized by liver, so wherever you eat refined sugar, it turns into fat due to increased level of fructose in liver. Any diet which you can't follow for longer period of time will not work because once you start eating normal diet your weight issue will come again. Healthy balanced diet along with workout and proper rest are pillars of good health. Include whole grains and use atta with bran take high fibre diet which include lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Drink atleast 10-12 glasses of water. Avoid drinking calories in form of juices and carbonated drinks. Avoid eating junk food, fried food and maida products. Try to eat home made food as much as possible. Move yourself use stairs, walk to near by places instead of using any vehicle include at least 45-60 minutes workout in your routine. Quit smoking or drinking if any Take sound sleep of at least 7-8 hours. Manage stress keep positive frame toward life appreciate yourself as it is not going to happen overnight. Hello. Target 3 kgs in the first quarter of the year of starting your weight loss (because of desk job you cannot really make harsh changes in schedule) -start doing surya namaskar at home, it take 15-20 minutes but is very effective. -start with 5rounds (10 total) and keep increasing gradually to as many as you can do, 7roundz then 10 rounds and so on. -keep a check on your diet. -take 25% less calories. -do not take more than 2tea spoon sugar a day. -try to drink more warm water, preferably with lemon.

Hi lybrate user. You have to follow some basic things so that you get better results in a short period of time. 1) take food two times in a day only 2) drink only 100-150 ml of lukewarm water during meals 3) try to take liquid diet only for few days 4) avoid oily, junk, fast and fermented foods 5) don't drink water before meal for one hour and don't drink water after meals for one hour. Do yogasan (pacchimottasan, sarvangasan, pavanmuktasan, halasan, bhujangasan) regularly. A) take half tsf of avipattikar churna and half tsf of lavanbhaaskar churna after meals. B) take 10-10-10 ml of ginger juice, fresh lemon juice and garlic juice before meals. C) take 30 ml of bhrungaraajasava and 30 ml of aloe vera juice at night before sleep. Do all these things for thirty days and reply me for further suggestions. Thanks.

Hi firstly, start doing surya namaskar in morning and start eating triphla chooran (natural medicine) in morning empty stomach with luke warm water. Start a fruit dieting every alternative day, means you have to eat fruits every alternative days & normal fruit every other alternative days. Avoid late night dinners and try to eat nothing after sunset. Sit in vajrasana after every meal you eat for 10 minutes. Walk atleast 30 min in morning.

Hye, thanks for the query. Being underweight can be a concern if it's the result of poor nutrition. Here are some healthy ways to gain weight when you're underweight: eat more frequently. When you're underweight, you may feel full faster. Eat five to six smaller meals during the day rather than two or three large meals. Choose nutrient-rich foods. As part of an overall healthy diet, choose whole-grain breads, rice and cereals; fruits and vegetables; dairy products; lean protein sources; and nuts. Don't fill up on diet soda, coffee and other drinks with few calories and little nutritional value. Instead, drink smoothies or healthy shakes. Snack on nuts, dried fruits and fresh fruits. Even when you're underweight, be mindful of excess sugar and fat. An occasional slice of cake or ice cream is fine. But most sweets should be healthy and provide nutrients in addition to calories. Sheera, lassi and chikki are good choices. Exercise, especially strength training, can help you gain weight by building up your muscles. Exercise may also stimulate your appetite.

Xanthelasma is an elevated yellowish deposit of fat underneath the skin, usually on or around the eyelids. The possible causes are * hereditary component (family history) * high blood levels of cholesterol xanthelasma do not cause any discomfort but it looks cosmetically odd. Treatment- first you should lower the body cholesterol level. To reduce cholesterol in body: * avoid butter, ghee & cream in your diet. * eat five leaves of kari patta and five leaves of neem once in a day. * avoid non veg food because it contain high fat content. * do not eat fast food and avoid cold drink. * do running and jogging daily for 15 minutes. Start with 5 minutes then increase time period slowly. Do morning and evening walk daily. * apply paste of water & urad daal powder on xanthelasma every night for 10-15 minutes & rub it softly with towel after wash. *xanthelasmata can be removed with surgery, lasers or cryotherapy.

Don’t eat plain sugar and avoid sugar-sweetened drinks
Added sugar is very unhealthy. It has uniquely harmful effects on metabolic health. Sugar is generally half glucose, half fructose. The liver gets overloaded on eating excess amount of refined sugar and is forced to turn it all into fat.

This is what leads to increased tendency of accumulating fat in the belly, which leads to insulin resistance and a host of metabolic problems.

So, make a decision to minimize the amount of sugar in your diet, and consider completely eliminating sugary drinks.

Conclusion: excess sugar consumption may be the primary initiator of belly fat accumulation, especially sugary beverages like soft drinks and concentrated fruit juices

Hello. Weight gain is due to unhealthy diet routine. Follow these steps to manage weight:- 1. Eat healthy diet which is rich in fiber. Prefer whole wheat food, brown bread or multigrain bread, ragi, oats. Include salad in your diet. Green salad is best for reducing weight. 2. Drink lots of water 2-3 litres daily. 3. Avoid full cream milk. Prefer skimmed milk and milk products because its less in fat. 4. For cooking use olive oil or canola oil. Its less in fat. Tell you maid to use less oil during cooking. 5. If you are non veg then prefer lean meat. Its less in fat. 6. Stop regular tea. Start green tea. Take 4-5 cups of this daily. Take it few mins after meal. It will help in reducing fat. 7. You can take lemon and honey in warm water at morning time. Or you can eat a slice of ginger and 5 leaves of mint with warm water. 8. If you can not go gym then try to do light exercises at home. Your BMI is 23.2.your weight is perfect as your height. 7-8 hours of sleeping time is necessary so its good. What you have to do is to do some exercise and balanced diet. WE becomes fatty when our calories intake is more than we burn, so main concept is that we should regulate our intake calories and at the same time do some physical exercise .To burn the fat in shoulder area best exercise is aerobic exercise.In the morning you can do regular aerobic exercise. And for regulate intake of clories you should take balance diet ,take fiber containing food as it digests slowly, eat green vegetables and seasonal fruits ,shifts your focus on salad, curd,green leafy vegetables, fruits ,avoid sweets, fried items, junk and processed foods as it increses weight. A)Take 30 ml of aloe vera juice along with 30 ml of triphala juice and 30 ml of lukewarm water, at night before sleep...B) take 10 ml of fresh lemon juice and 10 gm of jaggary before meals..C) eat 10 gms of black cumin seeds along with 30 ml of lukewarm water after meals...D) take 2-2 tablets of sutshekhar rasa and aarogyawardhini vati after meals ……do all these things for 30 days…it gives you good result..consult to me for further suggestions….THANKS

For control high cholesterol eat whole grain foods, green veg., juice, plenty of water at least 8 glass of water in a day.
