I have big problem of acidity in stomach and cough problem at early morning. Please tell me what should i do?
Here are tips to prevent Acidity/heartburn/GERD. -Relax and eat food slowly;Take time to eat- don't rush. Avoid skipping breakfast. - Eat smaller meals;Don't overeat  -Limit fluids intake during meals. As it increases stomach distension.  -Avoid foods and drinks that trigger acidity (e.g. Fatty ,Spicy foods, onions, garlic, peppermint, chocolate, coffee,tea, citrus fruits or juices, tomatoes, cola or alcohol) -Stop smoking. & Avoid alcohol;Try meditation, stretching or deep breathing instead.Strive for a less stressful life. Stress may increase stomach acids -Wear loose-fitting clothes.Tight clothes or belts can constrict your stomach. -Lose weight; Extra fat places pressure on abdomen, pushing gastric juices up  -Do daily exercise.like walking;It keeps you upright, allowing gravity to aid digestion -Don't lie down after eating.Wait at least 2-3 hours after meal before sleeping. Avoid late night snacks .Elevate the head end of bed by 6-8 inches. Sleep in left lateral position. -Review the medications;that cause acidity: like pain relievers/ antibiotics/Iron tablets HOME REMEDIES: -Chewing gum after meals. stimulates saliva production, which neutralize stomach acid .Herbal Tea improves digestion and soothe gas and nausea. Take low fat milk. -Dried ginger ,dried fennel or Ripened guava can speed up digestion of food  -Juices-Citrus drinks such as orange, tomato juice ,grapefruit, and pineapple juice are very acidic and can cause acid reflux. Other juices like apple,carrot,aloe vera,-are less acidic and thus safe..  -TREATMENT:  -Antacids: for mild symptoms, like SUCRAMAL/DIGENE/Mucaine gel, may give relief. Other antacids, such as Gaviscon, create a protective foam barrier that coats the stomach  -Proton Pump Inhibitors;for severe cases, these reduce acid in the stomach.ie:Pantocid –DSR/Sompraz-D/Rabicip-D.These are taken once/twice daily before meals.

Hello, take berberis vulgaris q, 15 drops with water thrice daily. Take cholesterinum 3x, 2 tabs twice daily. Home remedies:- 1. The acidic nature of apple cider vinegar stops the liver from making cholesterol that is responsible for forming the most common type of gallstones. It also plays a key role in dissolving gallstones and alleviating pain. Mix one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of apple juice. Drink it whenever you have a gallstone attack. This will significantly ease the pain within 15 minutes. You can add two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and one teaspoon of lemon juice to a glass of warm water. Drink it on an empty stomach in the morning. Doing this regularly for weeks can dissolve gallstones and prevent pain. 2. Pears can also provide relief from gallstone pain and other symptoms. The compound pectin present in pears helps soften cholesterol-filled gallstones, which in turn get flushed out of your body easily. Mix half a glass of pear juice with half a glass of hot water. Mix in two tablespoons of honey. Drink this juice three times a day for two weeks. Peel and de-seed some pears. Cut the pears in small pieces and cook them in water for about 20 minutes. Eat a bowl of the warm cooked pears twice daily for two weeks. All of the following are healthy foods for your gallbladder, as well as the rest of your body:- fresh fruits and vegetables whole grains (whole-wheat bread, brown rice, oats, bran cereal) lean meat, poultry, and fish low-fat dairy products.

Follow these best tips to make your digestion strong & healthy - *take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. *take 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (kali mirch), 1/ 2 tea spoon of jeera (cumin), 2-3 slice of ginger. Boil it in one glass of water for 2-3 minutes. Drink 5-10 teaspoons (15-20 ml) in morning and evening. * take 1 tea spoon of liv-52 syrup daily one time. * walk for atleast 15-20 minutes daily and avoid long duration continuos sitting. * avoid taking nonveg at night & in day time after taking meals, do not sleep in day.

1.Take bland diet, Avoid foods which cause acidity like spicy, oily, fatty and junk foods, onion, garlic, citrus fruit like orange grape, lemon, tomato, cucumber, raddish, vinegar, pickle etc 2.Have proper Breakfast, Don’t skip or postpone your meal, Take home made food, Avoid food and water from outside, 3.Eat food slowly, don’t rush, take smaller meals at frequent intervals like 5-6 meals per day, and don't overeat. Limit fluid intake during meal4.Drink plenty of water (8-10 glass daily). Take your meal regularly and timely. Avoid fasting, Don’t skip your breakfast. 5. Stop smoking, consumption of alcohol and tobacco, excess tea or coffee, carbonated drinks if you are having,6. Avoid stress, have adequate rest, sleep for 7-8 hours daily in night, go for regular exercise, practice yoga/meditation 7. Take one tablet of pan40 in the morning before breakfast daily for few days .8.Consult Gastro enterologist for further advice.

Hello lybrate user, - best thing for ibs is butter milk have a glass of well churned butter milk daily twice after meals - avoid strictly outside foods, sour foods and heavy food in the night - take bilagyl 1spoon with warm water daily twice before food for 15 days thank you.

Hi. It's GERD. Avoid stress, smoking, spicy food. Don't lie immediately after meals. You have to start antacids and PPI.

Hi Take grahini gajendra ras with water twice a day...take chitrakadi vati 1-1 tab twice a day with warm water after lunch and dinner....avoid spicy food...fermented and junk food....avoid alcohol consumption....tea and coffee...take fresh butter milk empty stomach.

Eat more fiber meal. Plenty of water in day time. Green veg. Fruits in meal, salaad in meal. Whole grain foods, eat papaya in dinner, you can also take syp. Liv 52 10 ml twice a day after meal for 30 days.

Dr. I would like to report you my concern. Recently I had found a mucus in my stool. I have asthma problem n was taking medicine atizid 250 and other tablet monteculost for phlegm in my chest. At this tym I found mucus produced from my anus. please help me wid dis n wat should I do to cure the problem and please say if the problem is serious. Or it is just due to the medicine.

Hi lybrate-user - incorporate more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains into your diet while eliminating unhealthy foods. - if you are working or studying away from home, try to pack healthy lunch and snacks for yourself to avoid eating unhealthy food daily. - don't eat straight from the packet - use a plate or bowl to control how much you eat. - don't delay or skip meals. - cut down your consumption of aerated drinks and sodas. - drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. Drink water after waking up and before sleeping. Being dehydrated may make you feel like you're hungry, so it is important to stay hydrated. - have homemade fruit and vegetable juices - eat 5-6 small healthy meals every 2-3 hours, every day, instead of having a few big ones. This regulates your blood sugar level and your metabolism. - don't skip breakfast, instead, make it rich with complex carbohydrates and proteins, so it can provide you with energy to get through the day. Try to include the following as your morning breakfast, oats porridge, eggs on multigrain toast or daliya with sprouts. - avoid artificial sweeteners in processed foods. - eat slowly as it takes about 20 minutes for your brain to register if you're full or not. Eating too fast leads to overeating, so chew slowly to digest your food better and control how much you eat. - use a smaller plate to control your portion sizes and avoid overeating. - know your cravings and do not snack when you're emotional. It is said that you crave crunchy and savory food when you're stressed, frustrated or lonely. Figure out what you crave and replace them with healthier alternatives. - do not eat mindlessly; concentrate on your food instead of watching tv or playing with your phone to avoid overeating.

Hello, you can take homoeopathic medicine nixocid tablets (1 tablet) thrice a day for a week and update. *drink lot of water. *include fruits, raw vegetables and fresh vegetable juices in your diet. *avoid fried and spicy food. *tea/coffee should not be taken in excess. Meals should be taken regularly and on time. *if overweight, loose weight. *avoid stress and it should be avoided by doing yoga and exercise.

Regarding Irritable bowel syndrome, Lifestyle modifications like Diet & Exercise forms the corner stone of the Treatment plan. With regards to Diet: 1) Avoid carbonated beverages 2) Avoid Cabbage, Cauliflower 3) Avoid Wheat, Barley & Rye 4) Increased Fibre rich diet Good sleep, plenty of fluids, Stress free day, Medications like Loperamide, Anti spasmodics would help.

You are most probably suffering from irritable bowel syndrome. In this condition the frequency and urge to go to toilet increases especially just after meals. Ibs can be caused due to many reasons out of which stress is one important cause. When your life and body are stressed, it can lead to ibs. You need to practice deep breathing and relaxation techniques. If your symptoms are not improved, you need to take prescription medication for a period of time. Please consult in private for prescription drugs.
