It is auto immune disease of the intestines and we can control it but not cure it fully and to be diagnosed with a biopsy through lower giscopy and as of now we give steroids with symptomatic treatment.

Yogurt, buttermilk, cheese etc are good sources of probiotics. Inorder to avoid consipation you should include food rich in fiber. Whole grains, green leafy vegetables, fruits like Papaya, apples, bananas etc should be consumed. Avoid greasy food because it can be hard to digest.

Mononucleosis is caused by the EBV. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), EBV is a member of the herpes virus family and is one of the most common viruses to infect humans around the world. The virus is spread through direct contact with saliva from the mouth of an infected person or other bodily fluids such as blood. It’s also spread through sexual contact and organ transplantation. You can be exposed to the virus by a cough or sneeze, by kissing, or by sharing food or drinks with someone who has mono. It usually takes four to eight weeks for symptoms to develop after you’re infected. It does not confirm syphilis.

It could be due to piles/fissure 1. Apply proctosedyl ointment 2-3 times daily before and after passing stool. 2.Sit in a bath tub containing warm water with little salt for some time twice daily (sitz bath). 3.Take two tea spoonful lof softovac/Naturolax powder with a glass of warm water/milk in the evening or syrup Duphalac 3 Tsf (15 ml) twice daily if there is constipation. 4.Take fiber containing diet, like cereals, whole grain bread, brown rice, pasta, broccoli, cabbage, plenty of green leafy vegetables and fruits. 5. If no relief consult a general surgeon for Sclero therapy/Rubber band ligation/laser or electric coagulation/surgery.

Plz advice for a SGPT reading of 42.9 what is maximum safe value? What are causes and consequences. How to recover. I rarely take alcohol (50 ml) in a month. Also advice on RBC count 5.61 x 10^6.

The normal range of values for AST (SGOT) is about 5 to 40 units per liter of serum (the liquid part of the blood). The normal range of values for ALT (SGPT) is about 7 to 56 units per liter of serum. Elevated levels. Significantly elevated levels of ALT (SGPT) often suggest the existence of other medical problems such as viral hepatitis, diabetes, congestive heart failure, liver damage, bile duct problems, infectious mononucleosis, or myopathy, so ALT is commonly used as a way of screening for liver problems. Your result is not alarming and therefore you can talk to your doctor. Don't panic. Take care
