depression : a state of feeling sad : a serious medical condition in which a person feels very sad, hopeless, and unimportant and often is unable to live in a normal way : a period of time in which there is little economic activity and many people do not have jobs.(1) : a state of feeling sad : dejection (2) : a psychoneurotic or psychotic disorder marked especially by sadness, inactivity, difficulty in thinking and concentration, a significant increase or decrease in appetite and time spent sleeping, feelings of dejection and hopelessness, and sometimes suicidal tendencies c (1) : a reduction in activity, amount, quality, or force (2) : a lowering of vitality or functional activity Stress is your body's way of responding to any kind of demand. It can be caused by both good and bad experiences. When people feel stressed by something going on around them, their bodies react by releasing chemicals into the blood. These chemicals give people more energy and strength, which can be a good thing if their stress is caused by physical danger. But this can also be a bad thing, if their stress is in response to something emotional and there is no outlet for this extra energy and strength. This class will discuss different causes of stress, how stress affects you, the difference between 'good' or 'positive' stress and 'bad' or 'negative' stress, and some common facts about how stress affects people today.Many different things can cause stress -- from physical (such as fear of something dangerous) to emotional (such as worry over your family or job.) Identifying what may be causing you stress is often the first step in learning how to better deal with your stress. Some of the most common sources of stress are: Survival Stress - You may have heard the phrase "fight or flight" before. This is a common response to danger in all people and animals. When you are afraid that someone or something may physically hurt you, your body naturally responds with a burst of energy so that you will be better able to survive the dangerous situation (fight) or escape it all together (flight). This is survival stress. Internal Stress - Have you ever caught yourself worrying about things you can do nothing about or worrying for no reason at all? This is internal stress and it is one of the most important kinds of stress to understand and manage. Internal stress is when people make themselves stressed. This often happens when we worry about things we can't control or put ourselves in situations we know will cause us stress. Some people become addicted to the kind of hurried, tense, lifestyle that results from being under stress. They even look for stressful situations and feel stress about things that aren't stressful. Environmental Stress - This is a response to things around you that cause stress, such as noise, crowding, and pressure from work or family. Identifying these environmental stresses and learning to avoid them or deal with them will help lower your stress level. Fatigue and Overwork - This kind of stress builds up over a long time and can take a hard toll on your body. It can be caused by working too much or too hard at your job(s), school, or home. It can also be caused by not knowing how to manage your time well or how to take time out for rest and relaxation. This can be one of the hardest kinds of stress to avoid because many people feel this is out of their control. Later in this course we will show you that you DO have options and offer some useful tips for dealing with fatigue.

Feeling pain is just another way of telling that you cannot accept the truth. If you are sure that your love was one sided it is not at all necessary that the person whom you love should love you back the same way. In that case I would recommend you to visits a psychiatrist or psychologist for counselling.

You should focus on eating a healthy diet. You can take any good mutivitamin for 15 days. Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a.Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B.Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C.If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D.Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E.Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F.You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. How to concentrate only on studies for a long time without any distraction? I am little bit of addiction to mobile n I am not able to concentrate on anything for a long time. Please help me how can I concentrate n what steps I must take to live my life better?

Dear, You must be able to understand Concentration, attention span, recollection and distraction. If you are able to watch a movie for two hours continuously, if you are able to play a game for an hour, then you do not have any concentration problems. You can't be attentive towards your studies because you are not interested in it. You are able to watch movie and play game because you are interested in it. Human cannot be attentive towards anything for more than 10 minutes. Then you should study in such a way that your attention is continued and make the subjects are interesting to you. Effective learning techniques should help you. Recollection depends on anxiety, stress and other physical and circumstantial factors. Distractions while studying are plentiful. You should be able to overcome distractions or avoid distractions. Please understand the above. Change your study style and attitude accordingly. Please post a private question to me and I will help you with "effective learning" techniques. Avocados, Beetroots, Blueberries, Broccoli. Celery, Coconut Oil, Dark Chocolate etc are good for improving concentration. Take care.

Strongly recommend visiting nearest PATANJALI chikitsalaya as they have been quite successful treating infertility. Plus, pranayam taught daily on astha channel from 5-7.30 am is highly effective resulting in good physical and mental health. Medicine prescribed do not have side effect as allopathic medicine. Hi Librate user Feeling down from time to time is a normal part of our life, but when your emotions such as hopelessness and despair take hold and just won't go away you may have depression. You should try to be brave and face each and every situation in your life. Try to think positive. You should share your feeling and emotions with a close friend or relative. Try to spend some time for outdoor activities. There are many things you can do to lift and stabilize your mood. Be happy and try to live a healthy life.

I always feel tired and want to sleep, always feel depressed not happy with present achievement no one acknowledge my work neither iam satisfied with my work, even though I keep myself busy, working as a teacher in well known school, at a good post, but morning itself want to run away from everything, but cannon think of leaving job and staying in home, I like to be bay with work.

You are certainly into a depression. You could be in an anger related and this emotion, if not expressed turns inward causing the depression. Anger is energy and when this turns against you, it stifles the natural energy to make you feel tired, dull, listless and lethargic. If someone irritates you even slightly, you can easily flare-up. Then the vicious circle is for you to feel guilty and get angrier with yourself: more the depression. You have to get along with people especially in a profession like teaching! You must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, and wake up by 6 am every day, play some active games, especially contact games, do physical exercises, talk to people and join some social clubs, eat more of proteins and vegetables, attend Yoga classes etc. Watch a lot of sitcoms on TV or comedies and cheer yourself up. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose yourself to some sunlight every day, at least 30 minutes but not in the scotching heat. I hope you can find someone to love and be loved too. Whatever happens please incorporate these three important adaptations in your life: always be responsible, be respectful, and be functional. If you did these three things, lots of things will go well in life. Please pray and have faith in God to alleviate your sufferings. The bottom line is to deal with the anger. Do visit a counselor to help you and on that person’s recommendation you may visit a doctor too.

You better to do friendliness with that girl. Friendliness get more satisfaction freedom and enjoyment it is good for your mental status. In love everything is stress. Every movement is stress. It may develop your personal problems. In friendliness you have chance to enjoy so many corners of life. You can directly ask any matter and enjoy with them. I think love is waste for your personality. You have no capacity to control your stress then do not go love. Better to enjoy friendliness. Nothing you will get in love it is waste of time. Lybrate user most importantly you need to decide what is more important to you your studies or the problems which are creating disturbances at your mental level. Secondly try to hv a glass of water before just start your studies you will not get distract for good amount of time. Meanwhile if you feel needed opt for online counselling.

Bipolar Disorder is a form of severe mental illness, characterised by episodes of depression and Hypomania/mania (elevated mood). For a clear diagnosis, initial episodes must occur in absence of brain condition, head injury, or illicit drugs misuse. Later episode may be precipitated by drugs use or other medical conditions like infection etc. I think Bipolar disorder is often misdiagnosed and improperly treated. Equally, if someone has clear cut diagnosis, then then must receive adequate and carefully monitored allopathic treatment with mood stabilisers like sodium valproate or lithium or low dose neuroleptics like olanzapine or quetiapine. I don't think Ayurvedic treatment will work of this disorder. I recommend you have your brother evaluated by a qualified psychiatrist to establish diagnosis. Thereafter he will need medicinal & psychotherapeutic intervention to engage him in treatment plan, comply with medicine regime and attend appointments, bring about life style change and engage in low stimulating activity to reduce risk to hypomanic or manic relapse. Family will also need support, education and empowerment to help themselves and help him. Bipolar disorder is a complex and complicated disorder but treatable if addressed in a professional manner and cared with a compassionate approach. It is true that there is always something that we contribute to a situation, be it as minor as 1% too. But to blame yourself for all of the misery is not only not correct, it is not even possible. The reason you may be doing this is that you may feel inadequate before others and may not have a good self-image. If you do not recognize yourself and your worth in a proper manner, then you will continuously undermine yourself and in comparison to others you will always see yourself as low. You should attend a personality development course, personal grooming course, conversational skills course, elocution and public speaking courses, go for higher education, do good body building courses and aerobic exercises, and get some help with your emotions from a counselor. This may be a trait that you have developed because of some issues in your upbringing and in very rare cases there may be an inbuilt nature that you have inherited. But the good news is that it can be resolved.
