I am 28 years old my life was great and everything was going awsome, but one year back I ended up with my long time relation, I was shattered at that time but now I am gaining back and struggling back while preparing hard to clear some prestigious exam of our country but the problem is I still have those past memories revolving in my mind which acts as an obstruction. Sometimes I still get dreams of my past life with her. What you suggest how I should get out of it?

I think you are doing well so far. You may need to look at forging your ex to help you move on. Forgetting it not possible for a long time because it is a memory, and since there were definitely good times, they will linger for some more time. When you are ready and desire another relationship there will be a lot of ease in terminating the old memories but it will be gradual. Quickly get rid of all reminders of this girl, and do not visit the old haunts that you and this girl used to frequent. For some time avoid people, places, and situations that you two enjoyed. In the meantime, please talk extensively to a confidante or counselor about your feelings and thoughts to externalize it out of your system. Do not bad mouth the girl for any reason but go about your life as quickly and normally as possible. Don’t get into another relationship until you have dealt with this loss completely. Whatever happened with yoru ex you need to remember that this is the kind of person she is and do not generalize this to other girls and brand them into the same category. There is surely a girl who is deserving of such loyalty and commitment. But learn your lessons and do not repeat them when you are into another. Keep these three values in mind: be responsible, be respectful, and be functional, always.

You will need professional help from a psychiatrist or psychologist properly trained in psychotherapy. They are far and few but available. It is not possible to say a few words and change the way you are. Don't take tension, just relax, do meditation etc are easy to say but not easy to execute. You must go for intensive psychotherapy. This may sound slightly different or difficult but is the truth!

I am 22 years old I have habit of smoking I tried various anti nicotine chewing gum but I didn't help so now what should I do to quit smoking?

Dear lybrate user, you may need a bit of willpower to stop smoking permanently. You could easily abstain yourself from smoking during the initial 2-3 days. But after few days of abstaining from smoking you will feel a strong craving to smoke a cigarette whenever you face any tense situation. Here lies your real test. You will need a lot of willpower to resist that craving & face any tense situation without the help of nicotine. However, you can take homoeopathic mother tincture daphne indica q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water. This medicine will help to reduce your craving for nicotine. To minimise the bad-effects of smoking take one single bulb garlic everyday at morning before brushing your teeth.

Dear, You must be able to understand Concentration, attention span, recollection and distraction. If you are able to watch a movie for two hours continuously, if you are able to play a game for an hour, then you do not have any concentration problems. You can't be attentive towards your studies because you are not interested in it. You are able to watch movie and play game because you are interested in it. Human cannot be attentive towards anything for more than 10 minutes. Then you should study in such a way that your attention is continued and make the subjects are interesting to you. Effective learning techniques should help you. Recollection depends on anxiety, stress and other physical and circumstantial factors. Distractions while studying are plentiful. You should be able to overcome distractions or avoid distractions.

any tablet if you take it works at that time only. the side effects if you face at that time only. for example if you take headache tablet it works on that movements only. next day if again headache comes you need to take again another tablet. previous day tablet it will not work next day. like that you are taken tablets you face the severity and side effects on particular days only. it will not effect on your sexula life. that you have doubt i do one mistake it may be effected or not. it is psychological feeling. so dont think about this matter again. better to marry and enjoy your sexual life. this age is right age for enjoying the sexual life. dont be alone. better to spend most of the time with friends and family members. better to share your personal feelings and problems with closed ones. be sociable and be happy all time. enjoy the masturabtion also.it is also good sexual sign of the normal human being. ok best of luck..

How to reduce negativity and imbibe positive thinking

How to reduce negativity and imbibe positive thinking

These are some basic steps that many of us know but forget to think when in emotional distress sometimes. I am collating that for a quick recap.

Thoughts constitute an important part of one’s life. Those thoughts can be favourable or unfavourable. For a few people, those thoughts are unfavourable most of the times. They often keep thinking about the negative outcomes of a work. Their friends and people around them who keep hearing the same will also start wondering if that work can ever be successful. To come out of such situations, it is better to follow a few basic steps.

1. Do not speculate that that something might happen and start looking at the facts. Never come to a conclusion without any proof.

2. If an untoward incident happened in the past, don’t think that it will repeat itself again. For example if you have failed in an exam, it doesn’t mean that you will fail in every aspect of life.

3. Stop worrying about what is not happening and start focussing about what is happening. Many of us have faults in our thought process. Because of that, we tend to forget about the favourable incidents happening and only worry about those that didn’t happen.

4. Don’t spiral any incident out of control. For instance, if you call a friend and if she didn’t answer it, it doesn’t mean for sure that she is not interested in talking to you. If you are thinking like that, it means that you are also worried about petty issues. Inculcate patience. Just leave a message to your friend and forget that incident and start looking at what other better activities to do.

5. Lot of people keep saying that they are not intelligent and that they are not fit for anything. If you think like that, your results will also become the same. So, stop thinking like that and perhaps start thinking that you have some weaknesses and you have other strengths that will make you fit for several other activities. There are no 100% bad or 100% good people in the world. Don’t speculate forever about what your weaknesses are and talk to people around you to understand what they think about you.

6. Emotional thinking in negative circumstances can lead to lowering your self confidence. Instead of generalising that you are unfit, it is perhaps that you are unfit for a certain task or at a certain time only.

7. When problems occur in one’s family, you may think that you are the reason. Instead of blaming yourself, look for a solution and solve the problem. With the outcome, you will feel better.

8. When you hear remarks from someone, do not treat it as untoward attitude towards you. Everyone makes mistakes and you have committed a mistake which is not an anomaly. All that you have to do is to learn from the mistakes and try to not repeat such mistakes in future. It will not help to reminisce about the mistake forever.

It is highly important to realise negativity. Immediately after, think comprehensively about the issue analysing the facts and try to mitigate your negative thoughts. Try to talk to a friend or a family member or a counsellor to help you reduce such ill thoughts.

The best way is to find out about the harmful effects of smoking and tobacco. The knowledge itself helps keep the intention to stop active. But as you know that is not enough but it does have a telling effect. I remember that in the early nineties, we knew that smoking was reducing by 1% annually in the West while it was growing by 2% in India, all because of the awareness created by various agencies in the developed countries. The knowledge is astounding and scary. That information itself should help you stay out of it. The tobacco tar in cigarette smoke lines your lung with huge patches that make that portion dysfunctional. Your oxygen carrying capacity is jeopardized, and breathing is impinged. The nicotine in tobacco smoke stimulates the heart beat to raise the blood pressure in no time at all. And one of its effects is to affect the erectile capacity of your penis. There are more than 4000 harmful chemicals in cigarette smoke!!! Then you need to identify why you smoke: there is an oral need, the nicotine effect, the psychological effect of covering up some other issue, for style, to impress, etc. You may discover that the reasons may be unimportant at this stage because you have become too addicted and the habit has become compulsive. You should start exercises, gradually increasing it over a period of time. Do deep breathing exercises every time you feel like smoking (try Yoga), and replace the oral urge with some healthy food substitute to satiate the need, for a little while. You may take hard candy or chewing gum. If the urge is too strong, then use nicotine chewing gum or nicotine patches, for a little while until the smoking drive reduces, substantially. You may join Smokers Anonymous in your city where the support is really extraordinary for like-minded people who are also in the same situation. Keep yourself occupied or engaged with interesting activities during the times when it is most tempting. Keep the company of non-smokers for some time i.e. at least for the first 21 days. Above all, announce it to everyone that you have quit smoking. Here’s a piece of very good advice: even if you accidentally/willfully take a cigarette, it is not the end of the world – you can start the cessation all over again. You must persevere with the best support until you defeat this addiction. Counseling is very useful in the initial stages, and when temptations are at their highest.

You are having claustrophobic. A condition where you become uncomfortable in crowded place. There is close relationship between mind and gut. You should practice desensitization exercises. Here you should expose you to a few people, then to a group of known and to unknown people. Once you are OK with it you should start social exposure gradually. Relaxation exercise will help you.

I can't sleep well. Also I can't control my emotion like cry, angry.so I need some emotion control pills. So can you ...
There are no emotion control pills at all. What you need to do is go for counseling and learn all about emotions and not how to control them but to express them appropriately. To promote sleep, please do the following: In your case particularly, do not sleep during the day; don’t even lie down. Go for regular exercise (breathing through your nostrils only) at a fixed time (at about 6 am) every day, whether you sleep or not. You must develop this habit of sleeping by 10 pm latest every night and wake up at a uniform time by 6 am every morning, even if you do not get sleep. If you do not get sleep, just lie down and if you have a bed lamp (or you could get one) lie down and read something light but not exciting. Your eyes will tire and you will fall asleep. If you like you may also put on light and soft music with the sleep function on. Depending on whether you are a visual or auditory person, you may watch TV in a lying down position until you feel sleepy. Have a warm bath before going to bed (for some people a cold bath at night seems to induce sleep! If you are one of them, please do so). Place the head side of your bed in a North-South position. The room must be as dark as possible and there should be no electronic items that give off even a light LED glow. There must be ample ventilation in the room. Avoid strong odors, except lavender, on your body or in the room, or on your sheets and clothes. There should not be any live plants in your bedroom. Sleep with the lightest of clothes or without any clothing. When lying down to sleep, lie down on your left ear as much as possible. Do not sleep directly under an overhead fan. You must eat a good breakfast, a fairly light lunch, and an early dinner, which should be a very light meal. Whatever you eat in the other meals, have only a pure carbohydrate meal at night with any vegetables, and preferably before 8 pm. Do not drink much liquids after or near about dinner time. When lying down to sleep you may use the 4-7-8 breathing pattern of sleep inducement i.e. Breathe in for four counts through your nostril only, hold for 7 counts, and exhale with a whoosh sound, through your mouth only, for 8 counts. Repeat this four times in the morning and just before you sleep at night. If you know Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT (check this out either on YouTube or Google), then please practice this too for sleep induction. Self-hypnosis and slow relaxation techniques, at night will be tremendously useful. Acupuncture or acupressure will both be very useful too. Pray last thing at night before you sleep.
