Acne or pimples. Due to hormonal changes. Oily skin causes it. Common in adolescent age. May occur in adults also. Food like Oily foods, ice cream, chocolate and sweets increase it. Treatment depends on the grade of pimples or acne. So, please send photos by direct online consultation as it's a must to see which grade of pimples or acne for accurate diagnosis and treatment.

I am getting mouth ulcers very often can you please suggest me any medicines to avoid mouth ulcers often?
Hi Reddyji.. If it would have been once then I could have suggested you some medicines...but as you suggested it is appearing often... then my advise is to take proper consultation and treat them from roots... so we can avoid recurrences.... To do that homoeopathic treatment is very effective..its just that it needs more details then just mouth ulcers.... You may till try if you want. Merc Sol 30 tds for 1 day..

Post gall stone laparoscopic surgery pain in right lower side of abdomen after 2 weeks. Can I ride car and bike now.

Post gall stone laparoscopic surgery pain in right lower side of abdomen after 2 weeks. Can I ride car and bike now.
With laparoscopic surgery, after 2 weeks, usually there should not be any discomfort. Before you drive a car or two wheeler, or do any hard physical activity, it may be good if you consult the surgeon who has done the surgery, to rule out any infection at the operated site and good wound healing. If doctor is convinced all is fine, you can drive.

First of all you need to change your eating habits and life style... Do not eat spicy, fried, fatty, high protein and junk foods... Avoid eating anything atleast two hours before you  sleep.. Eat lots of high Fibre diet like salad... For acute problem you can take tab pantocid DSR once daily empty stomach for two weeks .. also take syrup sucral-O 4 teaspoon before taking food three times daily ... If you are not relieved with this treatment after two weeks then get a upper GI endoscopy done...

Dear lybrate user, your son might be having some health issues. There can be many reasons for not having solid food. If he is having any difficulty in digesting the food, then he will not be hungry also. Please do not force him to eat. Kindly take him to a doctor. If there is no physical problem, then you might have to look into his emotional needs. Talk to him about himself, school, his friends, his games, hobbies etc. If he is not happy about something, he will be able to share that with you, which ultimately will lift up his mood and make him more active and energetic and then he might start having food on his own. Pursuade him to play physical (not computer games) games of his choice.

Urinary Tract Infection - Reasons behind It

M.Ch - Urology, MS, MBBS
Urologist, Dehradun
Urinary Tract Infection - Reasons behind It

Urinary Tract Infections are a group of diseases that affect one’s urinary system such as the urethra, bladder, ureters or kidneys. Women are more prone to contracting UTIs than men. They may be accompanied by symptoms such as a constant urge to urinate frequently along with a burning sensation in the concerned parts and pelvic pain. The urine may have traces of blood in it. These infections are usually treated with antibiotics.

Causes behind Urinary Tract Infection:

Urinary Tract infection generally occurs when the bacteria enter the urinary tract via the urethra and begin to proliferate in the bladder. Although the urinary system is structured to ward off such invaders, at times, the defense mechanism fails. In that case, the bacteria may evolve into a full-blown infection in the urinary tract.

Few risk factors are:

  1. Female anatomy: A woman’s urethra is shorter as compared to a man’s, thus lessening the distance the bacteria need to travel to the bladder. This increases the chances of UTIs in women.

  2. Using diaphragms and spermicidal agents for birth controls

  3. A dip in the levels of estrogen post menopause

  4. Abnormalities in the urinary tract that hinder the discharge of urine or cause the urine to travel back into the urethra.

  5. Enlarged prostate or kidney stones that cause the urine to be trapped in the bladder.

  6. An impaired immune system because of diabetes and other ailments

  7. Using catheters (tube) to urinate is one of the common risk factors because of the chances of infections. If you wish to discuss any specific problem, you can consult an urologist.
