We have a cellular tower on top of our house past 7 years. We dint notice a huge problem in our health but recently my mother who is always at home had a paralysis attack. And I experienced headaches, sleep disorders recently, so now is it a big problem? The contract will end in 2 years. We should shift our family? Or we can manage these 2 years with some precautions? Please help me.

MBBS
General Physician,
This may be due to cosmic radiation by the tower therby may be causing the numerous health hazards one should avoid the exposure to the tower as far as possible preferably if the tower can be shifted. Consult a doctor near your locality. For future health hazards.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. Your complaints have arisen as per your history from uncontrolled diabetes which initially affected your eyes and is now causing neuropathy. You don' t require a surgical intervention when the cause is a medical one, so my advise to you is to meet up with your endocrinologist and get yourself evaluated, if he suggests to you that it is compression in lower back region for which you have mentioned no complaints, then you may come back to me and we can discuss your case in detail. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Thanks & regards Dr Akshay Kumar Saxena

I am suffering from sleep paralysis while going to sleep frequently and sometimes after going to a deep sleep I maintain a healthy time and I do yoga this sleep paralysis bothering me a lot because of this disturbance is occurring in my daily life.

MD-Ayurveda, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Sexologist, Haldwani
Hello- most people need no treatment for sleep paralysis. Treating any underlying conditions such as narcolepsy may help if you are anxious or unable to sleep well. These treatments may include the following: improving sleep habits -- such as making sure you get six to eight hours of sleep each night using mental tonics like saraswataristha to help regulate sleep cycles treating any mental health problems that may contribute to sleep paralysis treating any other sleep disorders, such as narcolepsy or leg cramps.

I am a 25 year old male, I am having 3 episodes of migraine in a month, I am taking naxdom SOS, MRI was done 6 years ago which was normal. Now what to do.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS

Avoid triggers. If certain foods or odors seem to have triggered your migraines in the past, avoid them. Reduce your caffeine and alcohol intake and avoid tobacco. In general, establish a daily routine with regular sleep patterns and regular meals. In addition, try to control stress. Exercise regularly. Regular aerobic exercise reduces tension and can help prevent migraines. If your doctor agrees, choose any aerobic exercise you enjoy, including walking, swimming and cycling. Warm up slowly, however, because sudden, intense exercise can cause headaches. Obesity is also thought to be a factor in migraine headaches, and regular exercise can help you maintain a healthy weight or lose weight.

My mother is on treatment for seizure. She was taking levipril 500mg BD and Valence 250mg BD. On 9.8. 15 she got seizure and the doctor put her on levipril 500mg BD and valence 500mg BD.

DM - Neurology
Neurologist, Hyderabad
She has been rightly prescribed. But before increasing the dose of medication, ensure that she was taking previously prescribed medication regularly even without missing a single dose, ensure that she has not concomitantly taken any other medication that known to induce seizure, ensure that she was not sleep deprived prior to the episode of recent seizure, if none of these precipitating factors are present, then increasing the dose of valance is rational.

If your child has mild autistic features and can speak 2-3 words then she should do well with intensive therapies, this is the right age to act. You should learn yourself and work with therapist.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. There could be many reasons for numbness but usually it is a manifestation of an impingement of a nerve somewhere alonq its course. Can you please tell me, whether you have any neck pain, radiating upper limb pain, paresthesias etc? also do you feel any difficulty in grip, weakness, wasting of hand muscles etc? anyways I advise you to start with vitamin b 12 supplementation and medication for neuropathic supplementation like pregabalin or gabapentin in basic doses to start with. Do you have any comorbid conditions like diabetes, hypertension etc? please get back to me with answers so that I can advise accordingly. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.
