As weight gain for your baby in one month is good while on breast feed only, there does not appear any need to switch to formula feed. Breast feed is best for babies, specially so for pre-term babies as breast milk of mothers of such babies modified to meet special needs of these babies. Pl do not switch to formula, consult your pediatrician regularly to monitor growth & development of your babies; as well as to allay fear of inadequate breast milk.

Thanks for reaching out. Please clarify whether in 24 hours she sleeps for 10 to 12 hours. That should be enough. Is she drinking milk well and active at times she is awake it is fine. You take 2 to 3 cuos of tea. That will not affect the baby's sleep. You can eat more nutricious food such as porridge or milk instead of tea.

Hi Prakash the disease occurs because of lack of some enzymes or their non functioning properly... If it is completely absent then I don't know how much I can help but if it is because of their ineffectiveness I think homoeopathic medicine can help to certain extent... In any case I will advise you to try homedicines...

Hi. It's 1 1/2 month I have delivered twins. The milk flow s reduced. Doctor suggested to take allopathic galact granules but I find no improvement on milk production. Even my kids find difficult to suck the milk as they are pre mature. Pls advise can I take lactare tablet to increase the milk.

You can take lactare tablet to increase the milk. and milk increases only if your mind is kept calm and the baby sucks at breast. You keep feeding with confidence and milk will form . Never bottle feed and if at all you give other milk give with a spoon or a baby sipper and not bottle and nipple

You can go for investigations to rule out tuberculosis. Also the lympnodes might be enlarged due to local infection. A course of antibiotics if causes regression of size of lumps then tb is less likely. Also for primary complex (TB) the child must be having features of decreased appetite, weight loss, low grade fever, contact with person having TB or taking drug treatment for tuberculosis.

My son who is 7 weeks old is getting lot of burps. Every time after feeding, we burp him and hold him for few min before putting him down. Then he wakes up in 10-15 mins with huge discomfort. When we lift him he again burps with spit up. Then he becomes very comfortable and will not sleep again. Sometimes he goes back to sleep and again in few min he wakes up with another burp. This has been happening since 4 days and becoz of this he is not sleeping well. So he gets fussy and cranky. He is breastfeed mostly and occasionally he takes the formula. We give him Similac Pro sensitive. What is causing his frequent burps and Spit ups. Please advice.

Hello, Gas is air that gets trapped in the gastrointestinal system and needs to be released, through burping to get rid of gas, being a comm on diorder of a baby, usually. You need to take care of breastfeeding in a regular intervals to keep your baby away from unwanted trouble due to accumulation of gas. You need to monitor your dietary habits to keep your baby healthy to overcome this situation.

Behavioral Disorder In Children - What Should You Do?

Behavioral Disorder In Children - What Should You Do?

Childhood is bliss, and naturally, it is the ardent desire of every parent to help their child develop as well-rounded adults. However, it can be highly disconcerting if a young child behaves in a defiant, uncooperative manner with extreme hostility towards you. If this is the case, then you must consult with a psychiatrist to find out if your child is suffering from a behavioral disorder which is typically characterized by repetitive and persistent behavior for at least 6 months and more, which are uncommon in other children of the same age.

Types of behavioral disorder
Behavioral disorder can be of various types. However, among the children within 14 years of age, there are three most common types of behavioral disorders. These are conduct disorder where children become violent, aggressive and deceitful, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, where they fail to stay attentive to one thing for long and oppositional defiant disorder, where the children fail to follow disciplines and become argumentative, and defiant.

Common signs
Some of the common signs of a behavioral disorder among children are, threatening or harming themselves or people around them, getting into arguments frequently and throwing tantrums excessively. It might also include getting attracted to different addictions at an early age such as drug use or smoking, inability to perform well in school or developing a tendency to skip school, destroying and damaging property, stealing or lying.

Causes behind it
Factors causing children to develop behavioral disorder can be various. In some cases, it can be a solely genetic reason where the frontal lobe of the brain fails to act correctly. But for others, the reason may be the environment or the way the children are brought up, such as, being a victim of child abuse, or having a dysfunctional family, being neglected, etc.

Probable risks involved
Developing behavioral disorder not only disrupts the daily functioning and activities of a child, but it makes children burst in sudden anger, erupt in defiance, ignoring the disciplines, hampering the harmony and peace of a household.

Ways of dealing with it
The treatments that are available for dealing with behavioral disorder in children are multifaceted, depending on the factors contributing to it and the condition of the child. First of all, the parents need to develop traits like empathy, calm temperament and a cooperative attitude to better communicate with their children. Along with teaching the children various social skills, teaching them anger management, and encouraging them in their hobbies, prescribed medications, family therapy as well as cognitive behavioral therapy might be helpful.

If left untreated for long, behavioral disorder in children can cause severe mental health issues, leading them even to become dysfunctional adults.

Before giving deworming medicine, one must see the symptoms in patient like anal itching, excessive appetite, saliva dribbling while lying, etc. GIVE him medicine Aethusa cynapium 200, 4 pills twice a day for a day and revert back for further treatment. Give him solid food either dalia or khichdi. And keep him hydrated.
