Back pain is a very comon problem in our daily routine life. Its an occuptional problem. Back pain problm dovelops in series but it occur suddnly due to our lyf styl. You said dt you hv problm since lst 4yr bt it continues frm 5 mnths. As I told dt. The structure of our spine is very complicated. There is no support in our lower back area. Dre iz olwys a curve either sitting, standing, or even lying. So dre izz no support. So muscules of dis area iz very weak due to its musculature or dre izz no support. Or our lyf style. The lower spine resist almost 50% weight of our body. When we doing any kind of movmnt where lower spine bend. It means the gravitational force work wid 50% body weight. So dre izz olredy muscles r weak nd they are furthr weak due to forewrad movmnt of lower spine. So the main thingh iss dt. Avoid oll d forewrd movmnt of spine as much you can. Avoid low floor sitting. Avoid stairs climbing. Nd avoid any prolong posture. Sitting, standing. Walking. Sit olwys wid lower back supoort -coushion or back rest at home or at your wrk palace. Moist heet fomantation apply atlest 20 min 2 times a day. When pain izz subsides about 60% than you can start muscles strengthning exercises or stretching can b don. Last not d lest --increase your water intake atlest 4 ltr a day. Thnxx.

I met with an accident and injured my right leg knee. There is swelling. Please tell me what to do.
With sever swelling Nd pain you need to go for an X ray, till then don't move the knee, do not take weight and apply ice packs for 15 min with intervals of 2 hrs, this will help in reducing swelling and pain till some extend.

I am suffering from weight loss and back pain a lot. Please advice me a diet and tablets for back pain.
Why did you lose weight? Since when r you having back pain? By doing what it increases or decreases? For weight gain try this-- Don't drink water before meals. This can fill your stomach and make it harder to get in enough calories. Eat more often. Squeeze in an additional meal or snack whenever you can, such as before bed. Drink milk. Drinking whole milk to quench thirst is a simple way to get in more high-quality protein and calories. Try weight gainer shakes. If you’re really struggling then you can try weight gainer shakes. These are very high in protein, carbs and calories. Use bigger plates. Definitely use large plates if you’re trying to get in more calories, as smaller plates cause people to automatically eat less. Add cream to your coffee. This is a simple way to add in more calories. Get quality sleep. Sleeping properly is very important for muscle growth. Don't smoke. Smokers tend to weigh less than non-smokers, and quitting smoking often leads to weight gain.

I am 26 year old female. I fell on the stairs 3 weeks ago and have hurt my back on right side. The pain is not much, but it has not vanished ever since. It is subsiding gradually, however, if I do any strenuous activity like washing clothes, the pain reoccurs. Please advise.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. There are many reasons for pain in lower back region, so it can be due to a bony issue or a soft tissue injury at the back region. Normally even soft tissue injuries will take around 3 weeks to heal properly, but you can take gentle anti inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or tab paracetamol during this time. Also you can start with physical therapy, avoid lifting any heavy weight or lifting any heavy object especially when you get up in mornings. Also kindly send me x rays done by you after injury so that I can see and rule out a bony injury. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

Very! Urgent, Hi sir, my mom was accident on Sunday today is 4th day, she have head injured that is DAI, left leg fractured, she is unconscious. In this case can we have go to for surgery? Dr. said if your not go to surgery your mother leg was completely removed. So kindly advise as soon as possible.

Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS)

if she has a closed fracture with no evidence of blood vessel injury then the fracture fixation is not urgent. But if she has any open wounds in the leg with the fracture (open fracture) then she should have it operated to reduce the risk of infection. But if it had been an open fracture they would have dealt with it sooner. kindly upload the xrays. Diffuse axonal injury of the brain is a severe injury.

4 Strengthening Exercises To Control Knee Pain!

4 Strengthening Exercises To Control Knee Pain!

The knee is one of the largest and most important joints of our body. It is also susceptible to wear and tear as well as injuries. Knee pain can occur due to a variety of reasons starting from conditions like arthritis problem and osteoporosis as well as injuries that can affect the ligaments, the joint, the menisci and femur. These are the various parts of the knees, which can suffer from degeneration or even injuries. The best way to combat chronic knee pain is through rest, ice compress and with the help of pain relieving and anti-inflammatory medication.

While rest and ice compress for chronic knee pain and pain relieving and anti-inflammatory medication are the best ways to combat knee pain, orthopaedics also recommend the use of various strengthening exercises which can alleviate knee pain. Here are a few of the best ones!

  1. The towel hook: Lie down flat on your back and raise one leg, Hook a towel under the foot and press it against the towel as you pull both ends downwards, creating slight pressure. This can be done for a few seconds at a time. Remember to do this at least ten times for each foot and increase gradually. This exercise helps in strengthening your entire leg from the calf to the knee and even the thighs so that the pain subsides.
  2. Towel roll: In towel roll exercise, after pushing knee, should do dorsiflexion and hold for 20 seconds. Hamstring exercises are also given by placing roll towel under your feet, push down, dorsiflexion and hold for 20 seconds Adductor exercises are also given by placing a small ball between your legs just above the knee joint, press and hold for 20seconds.
  3. Swing: For this exercise, you will need to sit down on a chair. Now take one leg and swing it up until it is in line with your hip. Hold it out like this before you slowly bring it down again. Do this at least twenty to thirty times for each leg and gradually increase the frequency and the number of seconds for which you hold the knee. This will also help in pain management.
  4. Knee marches: You can also do knee marches by sitting down on a chair. You will need to march each knee up and down at least twenty to thirty times. You will need to do this for a few minutes every day and you can easily do it twice a day even when you are at work, sitting in front of a desk. You must ensure that your posture is straight and upright for this exercise.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Hi am a volleyball player. Everyday I practised and finally I get too much legs bone pain too much I couldn't walk.
It should be excessive exertion to the joint and muscle. You should reduce the practice time for sometime and do the knee, hip and ankle strengthening exercises. And take calcium tablet for 1 to 2 month.
