Dear lybrate-user, there are few herbal drugs which simultaneously lower down the blood glucose n pcos. So discontinuing metformin (if your blood glucose levels are raised) is not suggested. Without the consent of your endocrinologist. As far ayurveda's therapies are concerned. We can definitely help u. Pcod leads to abnormal weight gain and other hormonal imbalances which causes a toll on the body functions. Herbal remedies and treatment with panchkarma along with medication give signiciant results in pcod. Panchakarma procedures like - uttara basti and vaginal douches are quite helpful. This will greatly help. Although some herbal medicines might also help you but after proper history taking. Please update with your valuable feedback after 15 days.

This is the season of indigestion. First of all you have to take less quantity diet. Take only warm food and avoid packaged food. And simply do one thing. Take 1 liter water and add 1 gm of ginger powder and boil it for atleast 15-20 minutes. Whole day take only this water. Try this for a week. Your digestion will definitely improve.

GERD / Heartburn - 3 Reasons Why You Should Not Ignore it

GERD / Heartburn - 3 Reasons Why You Should Not Ignore it

Heartburn is a common symptom experienced by many people, but is often overlooked as indigestion. Besides making you uncomfortable, this can be a sign of a much bigger health problem. While the occasional heartburn can be treated with antacids, chronic heartburn can be a sign of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or acid reflux.

Here are three important reasons you should not ignore heartburn

  1. It can promote tooth decay: The acid regurgitated might not necessarily stop in the esophagus. It can often also make its way into your mouth. When this happens frequently it can promote tooth decay and wear out enamel. This can also leave your mouth with a sour taste. Acid reflux induced tooth erosion can easily be prevented by the early treatment of acid reflux, but in most cases is noticed only after the damage has been done.
  2. It can cause cancer of the esophagus: Chronic acid reflux that persists for years can lead to changes in the cells of the esophagus. This can lead to a cancerous condition known as Barrett's esophagus. The condition has no other symptoms can if left untreated can develop into cancer of the esophagus. Women are at a higher risk of this form of cancer than men. Though esophageal cancer is relatively rare, it is not something to be trifled with. The survival rate of esophageal cancer is very low in comparison to other forms of cancer. Only 15-20% patients live longer than 5 years after this condition is diagnosed.
  3. It can lead to breathing problems: Heartburn is caused by stomach acid flowing back into the esophagus. If it is inhaled after regurgitation, it can worsen asthmatic conditions and pneumonia. At the same time, treating acid reflux with medication like PPIs can also increase the risk of pneumonia as it can promote bacterial growth and suppress coughing. Thus, when consulting a doctor for acid reflux treatment ensure that you mention any existing asthmatic conditions so that you can be treated with your lung functioning in mind.

In addition, acid reflux can also impact a person's health and quality of life. To prevent heartburn people often find themselves avoiding certain foods. This can impact their social lives and in turn make them withdrawing into themselves. A person's sleep can also be affected by heartburn. Hence, it is important to treat heart burn as early as possible and not wait for it to become a chronic problem.

Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. Dry mouth also can cause bad breath. Smoking or chewing tobacco-based products also can cause bad breath, You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then.

First start with a eight day session of vasthi karma at a panchakarma centre near you. Vasthi will detoxify the body and remove excessive gas formation. After that start taking ayurveda medicine from a good expert. Take lighter food, no smoking, no drinking, avoid excess salt, spices, fermented foods. Take more milk, ghee etc.

Acute appendicitis is the swelling of the appendix which is located inside the lower abdomen on right side. With antibiotics and analgesics the pain of the appendicitis may subside. There is increased chance that the swelling may reappear. USG abdomen, blood examination and above all the clinical examination by the expert surgeon helps in the diagnosis of the appendicitis. Right sides Fallopian tubes and right ovary are situated close to the anatomical location of the appendix hence sometimes the disease symptoms of the either of the organ mimic each other. Sometimes appendicitis can turn into gangrenous appendicitis, which is quite a serious condition. Another critical condition like appendicular perforation and abscess formation is also a septic condition and is a surgical emergency. Hence in a case of high suspicion of a case of acute appendicitis Surgery is recommended. Laparoscopic appendectomy helps in properly visualising the internal genital organs while appendectomy is done. The right choice for acute appendicitis is Surgery. Presently.

If your piles produce only mild discomfort, I may suggest over-the-counter creams, ointments, suppositories or pads based on your medical history. These products contain ingredients, that can relieve pain and itching, at least temporarily. Don't use an over-the-counter cream or other product for more than a week unless directed by doctor. These products can cause side effects, such as skin rash, inflammation and skin thinning. I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. I will also suggest home remedies. Do reply back for private consultation for rx.
