The term HbA1c refers to glycated hemoglobin. It develops when hemoglobin, a protein within red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout your body, joins with glucose in the blood, becoming 'glycated'. By measuring glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), clinicians are able to get an overall picture of what our average blood sugar levels have been over a period of weeks/months. For people with diabetes this is important as the higher the HbA1c, the greater the risk of developing diabetes-related complications. HbA1c is also referred to as hemoglobin A1c or simply A1c.

What is the reason for yellow urine. I do drink more water. And my age is 23. I even do walk and exercise for 1 hour.

What is the reason for yellow urine. I do drink more water. And my age is 23. I even do walk and exercise for 1 hour.
around 5-6 litres of water should be consumed per day to keep your urinary system healthy..in summer times that volume might need increment depending on need.. since you exercise, you experience more sweating which increases the need of fluid intake..try drinking atleast 1litre of more water than you drink usually and see whether the problem persists.

My mom are facing problem of kidney stone, diabetes and high BP problem please suggest some good diet.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
My mom are facing problem of kidney stone, diabetes and high BP problem please suggest some good diet.
To help manage your diabetes and BP, your meals need to be:--- •Regular and spread evenly throughout the day-- •Lower in fat, particularly saturated fat------------ •If you take insulin or diabetes tablets, you may need to have between meal snacks------- Matching the amount of food you eat with the amount you burn up each day is important. Not putting too much fuel in your body (keeping food intake to moderate serves) is vital to getting the right balance. Along with healthy eating, regular physical activity can help you to manage your blood glucose levels, reduce your blood fats (cholesterol and triglycerides) and maintain a healthy weight. ----------------------. It is important to recognise that one diet does not fit everyone with diabetes. So my slogan for all diabetics is-------------'One Diet does Not Fit All'------------------------ So your mother should consult a dietician in physical to plan a way according to her body weight, activities and tastes and requirements. Only then can you control your blood sugar levels and BP problem--------

You should follow these very important and simple things to prevent stone formation & to get sure treatment of kidney stones: 1. First take a lot of fluid daily. The more you drink water and fluid, the less amount of deposit accumulate in kidney. So you have to make your kidneys healthy just only by drinking 2-3 liters (10-12 glasses) of water. 2. Stones are mainly formed of calcium and oxalate. So take very low quantity of milk, cheese, cream and dairy products. 3. Do not take strawberry, plum, spinach and tomatoes. These fruits and vegetables are rich in oxalate. So avoid them to prevent from kidney stones. 3. Stop taking supplementary vitamin d and calcium medication. 4. Avoid animal protein diet- eggs, red meat, fish in diet. 5. Take less amount of salt, pickle and western foods. They have high amount of sodium. So avoid it. 6. Mr. lybrate-user, Microalbuminuria is passing of small molecules of albumin through urine. It increases when kidney function is affected. This happens in diabetes. Diabetes damages the filtering membrane of the glomerulous. If blood glucose is not well controlled this damage occurs fairly rapidly. Since you no such problem now. The only precaution required is strict blood glucose control. Nothing else is needed. Thanks.

Kidney stones treatment depends on the types and size of stone, most kidney stones won't require invasive treatment. You may be able to pass a small stone by: drinking water. Drinking as much as 2 to 3 quarts (1.9 to 2.8 liters) a day may help flush out your urinary system. Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, drink enough fluid mostly water to produce clear or nearly clear urine. Pain relievers. Passing a small stone can cause some discomfort. To relieve mild pain, according to your medical history I may prescribe pain relievers such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen or naproxen sodium. Medical therapy. I am a doctor and renal (kidney) dietitian who will aslo prescribe a customized diet plan and medications to help pass your kidney stone quickly and with less pain. Do reply back for medications. Being also a general physician, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary tips taking into account patient preferences.

Hi, I have been recently diagnosed with multiple calculi in my left kidney. And the largest one is of 17 mm. Should I go for surgery (as doctors have suggested) or shall I wait to see the effect of ayurvedic medicines which I am eating now. Banana with camphor is what I have been taking till now. Are there chances of getting the stone dissolved, there is no pain now in my abdominal region.

Stone size is big. It won't dissolve. Camphor causes slow poisoning like lead/arsenic. Should not take that. You should undergo ESWL or PCNL. Since there are multiple stones PCNL will be better. PCNL is a key hole endoscopic surgery. You can consult me or any urologist regarding this. Thanks.
