Fibrocystic changes are very common and are common cause of breast pain especially cyclical. It is known to sometimes regress spontaneously after pregnancy and breast feeding. It is a good thing if you can't feel any lump now. If you still have any queries, do not hesitate to contact me directly.

I had giant cell tumor at the neck of proximal femur. Surgery is performed within bone graft. Then hip spica is applied for 3 months. But after 5 months of operation local recurrence has started. What is the cause of it? Is hip replacement approval for me? By which process local recurrence is stopped? From where we get best treatment for it?

General Surgeon, Mohali
It is a tough disease to control. It can recur in anybody. We are routinely doing Brachytherapy along with surgery to improve the results. Right now hip replacement is the surgery of choice but there is no guarantee that it will not recur again!

My mother is having a 8 m.m. Ghat (cysts ) in left breast it is a sign of breast cancer please help me I am in very big tension please.

PGDMLS, PGDHHM, LLB, PhD Surgery, MS - General Surgery

It may or may not be a sign of cancer. An ultrasound examination nd a check up by a general surgeon will clear the picture. If required a fine needle biopsy may be required.

Hi lybrate-user, I appreciate you seeking help for your mother. Well, contextually, I would advise you to go by your doctor's advice and proceed with the biopsy to rule out any recurrence. Do take care and I wish you all the very best. Sincerely,

Gynaecomastia is hypertrophic male breast some times due to hormonal imbalance. You must check your hormonal status, testosterone levels etc. Usually it can be corrected surgically by plastic surgeons.

I am having tightness in my right breast from past 2 days. I felt like a knot in my breast. Then I took a hot bag as it was paining allot. Now the tightness is less. And I can feel the pain only when I touch it. Little redness was there. But no excretion was there from my breast.

Due to hormonal changes and also check whether you have pre menstrual syndrome where the chest congestion and lump or knot feel in the breast is quite common. It is called premenstrual syndrome, it is quite common to feel that sensation, if you are pregnant you may not sever back pain. If the back and the leg pain is severe in general it is due to the pre menstrual syndrome, since the periods are delayed by 3 days the intense pain is quite natural do not worry.
