Actual issue can only be told after an X ray. It could either be a sprain or some spinal problem. Till then you can do following home remedies:1) Mix camphor in coconut oil and boil it. Massage it followed by hot fomentation. 2) Have turmeric & honey milk. 3) Put a hot-water bag on back supported by a cushion. 4) Add ginger while brewing your tea 5) If u are overweight, go for weight loss program 6) Stay away from cold, go for hot water baths.

For shoulder pain, medicines rarely help. They have temporary effect. If cause is not treated, your pain will return again and again. Do you have weakness in shoulder you need some exercises for shoulder and trunk. Consult shoulder specialist orthopedic surgeon.

Laser treatment in physiotherapy works for deep seated pain, but if there is extreme degeneration of the cartilage and bones, knee replacement is inevitable as it is a non reversible condition.

What are the symptoms of osteoarthritis in relation to the different affected areas?

An osteoarthritis is a form of arthritis which means unexpected inflammation of the joints/muscles, which is usually very painful. This form of arthritis is not curable, and the only thing that you can do is to take measures to reduce the painful effects of the condition. The symptoms of the medical condition often occur gradually and are chronic and long lasting in nature. Some of the body parts that get affected easily are:

1. Hips- pain is felt in the groin area or buttocks at the hip joint.
2. Fingers- bony growths at the edge of joints can cause fingers to become swollen, tender and red. There may be a pain at the base of the thumb.
3. Knees- a 'grating' or 'scraping' sensation occurs when moving the knee.
4. Feet- pain and tenderness are felt in the large joint at the base of the big toe. There may be swelling in ankles or toes.

Some of the most common symptoms which are more common to all body parts are as follows:

1. Chronic pain

The arthritis related pain is very intense and chronic in nature, and it has an ever increasing trend if proper care is not taken. This pain can appear in any body joint of a person and it can cause visible inflammation or swelling in and around the muscles of that particular joint.

2. Body stiffness

Another characteristic feature of this medical disorder is that there is stiffness in the normal movement of the joints and muscles. This symptom also results in a lack of flexibility of the concerned person.

3. Inflammation and tenderness

Osteoarthritis is such a condition which is observable by the naked eye, as it shows signs like inflammation and tenderness. Inflammation can be noticed if a joint has a considerable amount of swelling.

Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. It could still be a seronegative rhematoid arthritis. You need antiinflammatory drugs and the treatment is usually long term. Consult a good orthopaedician.

How to avoid shin splint (front lower leg pain)

Ask Free Question
Shin splints, medically known as medial tibial stress syndrome (mtss), refers to pain in the shins - the front lower legs. It is an inflammatory condition of the front part of the tibia. The pain is brought on by strenuous activity, more commonly in stop-start sports such as squash, tennis or basketball. Running too much on hard surfaces is also a common cause of shin splints.

These tips may help you avoid suffering with shin splints.

-use proper fitting shoes with good support
-make sure the insoles are shock-absorbing. If you have flat feet, good insoles are vital
-avoid hard surfaces, uneven terrain, or slanted slopes
-increase your intensity gradually
-make sure you are warmed up properly before doing exercise.
