Sir I had a bad habit of masturbation since 3 years. But now I get rid of this habit. Now I have a doubt that if there anything wrong happened in my body, because I think my forearms are thinner than my friends. Please sir suggest me what should I do now?

Hello dear. It is one of the biggest myth & lie spread by quacks that masturbation is harmful to health & causes loss of weight, strength, potency, malesness etc. Masturbation is natures way of giving a safe outlet to sexual urges. You may be surprised to know that even females engage in masturbation just like males. So rest assured that engaging into daily masturbation wont cause any harm & you need not avoid it! don't worry so much! if indeed your forearms are thinner or you think something is wrong with your body, we can investigate & treat it with proper medicines, but its definitely not linked with masturbation! you will be fine. Good luck.

Cardiovascular Diseases and Diabetes

MBBS, MD - General Medicine
General Physician, Hyderabad
Cardiovascular Diseases and Diabetes

Diabetes mellitus is a condition affecting the way one’s body utilizes blood sugar (glucose). Glucose is essential to your health since it is a vital energy source for the cells that make up the tissues and muscles. Diabetes is characterized by excess blood sugar levels. The complications might get aggravated and turn fatal if it is left untreated over a period of time.

Diabetes mellitus can be of two types - Type 1 and Type 2.

In Type 1 diabetes, the pancreas is unable to produce enough insulin to metabolize sugar and starch from the foods that you consume while Type 2 diabetes affects the way the body processes the blood glucose.

Diabetes substantially increases the risks of numerous cardiovascular disorders (a condition that affects the heart’s blood vessels due to fatty deposits within the arteries) such as atherosclerosis (narrowing of arteries), stroke, heart attack (wherein flow of blood to the heart muscle gets blocked all of a sudden), heart failure (inability of the heart to pump blood throughout the body) and angina (chest pain).

Why are diabetic people at a higher risk of developing cardiovascular diseases?

The following factors are associated (could be the common reason as well) with both diabetes and cardiovascular diseases-

  1. High blood pressure and hypertension.

  2. High triglyceride level (a kind of fat present in the blood) and abnormal cholesterol level.

  3. Obesity.

  4. Lack of exercises and physical activities.

  5. Uncontrolled blood sugar level.

  6. Smoking.

It's normal, no need to worry. Penis size doesn't matter to satisfy a female. Your stamina and timing matters only. So don't think about it and enjoy your time.

Jaundice or viral hepatitis takes long time to cure because regeneration bof liver cells isva very slow process it ntakes longervduration to recouop so you have to have type of restriction maintain dome more time like givevrestvto liver by taking proper food particularly carbohydrate food in moderation thereby giving indirect rest to the liver cells. Take plenty of leafy vegetables, cereals fruits and lean meat fish eggs etc avoid red meat. And rest as far as possible. Have plentybofvwater by mouth.

I am a diabetic type 1.I have read somewhere about pancreas transplant in India. Can you suggest me if it is possible or not. My age is 29.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. For treating diabetes pancreas transplant is considered to be a permanent cure. But the this is one of the very difficult procedures, not yet very commonly done. Secondly availability of live pancreas is the most difficult problem. It still a very experimental procedure, may take years to become a reality. There are experiments going on for stem cell generated pancreatic cells formation, but still at lab level. Thanks.

From last night I have liver pain. Is this caused for my acidity? What should I do now?
HI lybrate-user, 1.It may gas distention trouble due to indigestion. Have simple bland food (Khichadi) for next few days avoiding junk, oily, spicy fried and deep-fried food items. 2.Drink lot of water. 3.Add Jeera, Ajwain, Sonth in your food items – these herbs prevent gas formation. 4.Reduce intake of tea – coffee. Instead you can have green tea. 5.Do not lye-down or sit immediately after having meals. Have a walk instead. 6.Maintain good bowel habits. Have more of Coconut Water, Gulkand etc to relieve acidity, Avoid too much of Cauliflower, Peas, Brinjals, Namkeens as snacks etc. 7.Do regular walking and mild exercises. You may also do a weekly fast – just to relax and calm down your system. Fasting also helps in cleansing of the system. 8.For gas some herbal medicines might also help you but after proper history taking. For that you may consult me privately over Lybrate. Please update with your valuable feedback.
