Bowel Moment - What It Says About Your Health?

Bowel movement is one of the most important clues about an individual’s health, as it gives a real idea of the gastrointestinal condition as well as overall health. One shall have to get familiar with the regular appearance of stool to spot the issues beforehand; however, the day to day alterations in the appearance does not mean that there is a problem with your health as one may notice short-term abnormalities based on what he or she is eating every day.

But in case an unexplained change lasts for over a week or so, it is a sign of some strange happening in the gastrointestinal tract.

  1. Hard pieces of faeces that are hard to pass: If the bowel movement is straining to pass, then the individual is constipated. Some people think that they are not suffering from constipation, but their stool is always hard and comes out in pieces rather than soft stool that passes out effortlessly. The most common reason behind such stool is a lack of fibre in the diet. According to general recommendations, an adult male must take at least 38 grams of fibre while an adult female must take about 25 grams of fibre. It is recommended to maintain a food journal to track the daily nutrients intake, and in case there is a lack of fibre in the diet, it can be stacked up with whole grains, fruits, beans and nuts.
  2. Black or bright red coloured poop: If the stool has a deep red appearance, it would indicate that a part of the bowel is bleeding. In most circumstances, the blood in the stool is caused by the benign haemorrhoids, but it could also be due to some ulcers in the colon or stomach or even cancer. That is why it is extremely crucial to bring it to the doctor’s notice. There are different types of over-the-counter medications which turn the stool into black colour. This sort of discolouration is entirely temporary and may stay along for a few days even after stopping the medicine.
  3. A loose stool which is not diarrhoea: Loose stool but not diarrhoea may mean that the individual is suffering from celiac disease. Although the illness is quite uncommon, most people who suffer from it are not aware of the condition. The appearance of the stool is the largest and most reliable signs of having celiac disease. Individuals affected with celiac disease are not able to tolerate gluten, and it destroys the villi in the lining of the small intestine. As a result, the nutrients are unabsorbed, and the stool becomes loose. Switching to a gluten-free diet for about 2 to 3 weeks can aid in alleviating the disease.

If the appearance of the stool remains abnormal for weeks together, it is important to talk to a doctor to find out if there is something serious underlying. Bowel movement is the truest sign of the intestinal health, and thus, should not be ignored.

It effectively removes the free radicals within arthritis joints and also reduces the release of protein- destroying enzymes. To stop hair fall change food habites add in your food calcium vitamins minirales proteins milk end milk products dry fruites fruites and green vegitabales salad etc Do aerobic excersices yoga will help you. Take Ķeva natural hair oil bottal end Ķeva Tulsi drops bottal add 30 drops in hair oil bottal shake well than massage with finger tips into hair roots morning end night for a month end wash hairs with Ķeva daily Care shampoo two times in a week. This is happening due to increased conversion of testosterone to DHT and reduced nutrition to scalp and hair follicles. Thus, hair become weak from their roots (follicles) and acclerate hair fall. The good news is that this is easily treatable with ayurvedic tablets. These tablets block conversion of testosterone to DHT. At the same time, these tablets nourish hair follicles making hair strong and prevent hair fall. Please let me know if you have any other disease or abnormal symptoms. Watermelon and Papaya are best fruits to reduce weight. You can have it maximum without any limit. Green tea and Hot water (3 litres / day) are the best tools to loose weight.

Dear lybrate-user, as you have consulted and confirmed that there is nothing to worry about. Ask your husband to do gargles with warm water twice a day. Avoid taking more cold and hot food items. Avoid curd, sour items, banana, rice for sometime. Or take little but not frequently. Also give him Merc Sol 30 three times a day for 3 days. Let me know after 3 days how he feels.

I am 24 year old girl. Whenever I check my BP in the morning before food it will be 120/80. But after taking breakfast at 11 or 11: 30 if I check it will be 130/70. Always it will be like this. What is the reason? Is 130 too high? What should I do to reduce only systolic pressure? I exercise daily but I don't eat much salt. Per day may be one spoon I will eat. I have a little anxiety issues and acidity problem also.

BP is never constant. It can go up and down depending on physical or mental state. Hence BP is usually measured in the mornings. 120/80 is perfectly normal. You are fine. No need to worry. Just eat healthy and take less salt. Do daily exercise. Stay happy and relaxed, you are fine.

My husband is having migraine from past 1 month he is taking tablets please tell me how many months it will take to cure completely? Or should he take tablet life long for migraine?

Migraine headaches do not stay continuously. They come and go. As they can occur any time there is only one thing that you can do is note down the how frequent migraine attacks happen, after what activity does he get these migraines, how long it lasts, which part of your head hurts, does anyone in family have similar trouble, Does bright light/loud sound/ lack of sleep bring headache, what medications help him and does he have an aura before he gets migraine. Aura is basically sensitivity to light ,sound and also nausea. Some people have aura before they get migraine and some do not. Its better to keep note of these above question and follow up with a doctor. If the frequency increases to more than two days in a week you should see a physician. When he has migraine try to sit in a dim light room with no noise. Usually the first treatment option is over the counter pain killers. But if you are having headache very often then I recommend a doctors visit. Hope this helps.

Your bad breath / yellow teeth may be due to: TARTER: there is a deposition of biofilm on teeth and gum line. When it calcified it called tarter. And the reason of this tarter is lack of oral hygiene / cleaning. That's why it's is recommended to go for a dentist to know your oral hygiene status. Dentist will perform scaling / bleaching depends on your dental condition. Then follow these lifestyle and home remedies for bad breath include: Brush teeth and tongue : brush at least twice a day, but preferably after each meal Clean dentures (if applicable: dentures, bridge, mouth guard - should be cleaned as recommended on a daily basis. Floss: flossing reduces the build-up of food particles and plaque from between the teeth - brushing only cleans around 60% of the surface of the tooth. Avoid dry mouth: drink plenty of water. In your case if cleaning is not done during or before treatment then get a professional cleaning done. Use soft or ultra soft toothbrush with light strokes, only to clean the teeth and in between teeth areas. Learn proper brushing technique. If cleaning is done recently and thoroughly, get a complete blood count report. You may have deficient vitamins minerals etc. Specially vitamin C. Thank You.

There are a variety of foods and concoctions that have been developed for our urban realities and to help us become more fit. Smoothies and juices are the latest craze that has been on the fitness scene for a few hours. There are many people who have taken to smoothies in place of a solid meal because this combines a variety of healthy ingredients so that one gets a wholesome meal which can also be had on the run. But there are many schools of thoughts regarding the efficacy and the health benefits of smoothies.

Are they really as healthy as they are said to be? Let us find out with this article!

  1. Protein: There is a good dose of protein in smoothies which comes from the large amount of fruit, vegetables and dairy as well as oats and other such elements that are used to create one. Protein is one of the main elements that come from smoothies and it also helps particularly after a workout or for those who are into sports.
  2. Dietary fibers: Because of the copious amounts of berries and other fruit that is used to create a smoothie, one can gain great amount of dietary fibers also. This helps in clearing out the toxins from the digestive tracts, which can further prevent the generation of kidney stones. Yet, there is something to be said for the ingestion of fresh fruit, which makes for even better levels of dietary fibers. So even if you are having smoothies, you must ensure that you also have plenty of fresh fruit.
  3. Probiotics: Curd based smoothies is one of the best things that one can have because of the number of probiotics that they contain. Curd contains a number of good bacteria which is very good for the digestive system as well as the metabolism. These good bacteria are called probiotics. This helps in stabilizing the metabolism and the digestive process, which can be very helpful especially for people who are suffering from chronic lifestyle diseases.
  4. Sugar: If one used sugar instead of jaggery or honey in the smoothie, then it is no better than having a can of coca cola. For this reason, one will need to replace sugar with other natural sweetness that will bring down the level of kilojoules or kilo calories. This will make the smoothie much more healthy so that one can have plenty of fruit without the sugar intake.
  5. Liquid content: Many people use juice as the liquid content. Yet, this is not always the best option. This contains a lot of sugar, even if it freshly pressed. So, one can substitute the same with water.
  6. Oats and cereal: You can toast oats and others cereal in order to line the parfait or the smoothie. This will also bring in plenty of protein as well as other vitamins. This kind of a smoothie makes for a crunchy taste even as it gives you a full meal which can be taken at least three times a day. Alcohol dependence is associated with significant physical, mental and social problems.
