I have been suffering from ankylosing spondylitis since 2013 and taking tab saaz ds and tab etoricoxib 60 mg for 3 years but worse part is that my pain and stiffness increase during September and october every year. Remaining months I feel comfortable. Why is it so? What should I do to overcome it?

Taking eterocoxib for long duration is not recommenced Pain is due to stiffness n that increases in cold Try to keep yourself warm during this period Do regular swimming or similar exercises in which all joints of body are used n movements occur.

You need to take care of your back U need back strengthening exercises yoga Avoid forward bending Avoid lifting things n start treatment for osteoporosis as that is common for your age.

Hi, I am unable to walk more than ten steps because of knee pain. My weight is 65 kg age 69 and vegetarian. I go early morning for cycling and then half an hour for Yoga exercises. My physician has advised me not to go knee replacement until you pain is unbearable. How can I go for little walk Tell me better diet and exercises that can help me in walking. Please suggest me.

Hello Sir, Its good to know that you are physically active and taking good care of your joints. Though to get relief from pain, you can make some dietary changes which will definitely help you. 1.Avoid consuming caffeine or eating green leafy vegetables (palak, methi, amaranth) along with calcium-rich food (milk and milk products) as it hinders calcium absorption. Eating meat and chicken should be restricted in case of gout as it increases uric acid formation. Also reduce the amount of salt and refined foods that you consume. 2. Hi if your hla b 27 is positive then your suffering from ankylosing spondylitis In this slowly all your vertebrae will join to each other n movements will be reduced also of other major joints Best way to remain mobile is to do exercises that move all joints Like swimming which is best for you Pain is mainly due to stiffness you can take painkillers for some duration.
