Depression and Anxiety Treatment Without Medication

Depression and Anxiety Treatment Without Medication

"Is there a recovery from depression without medication?"

This is a question that many people ask Dr R K Aggarwal and rather they also search for the web, talk to other doctors to seek alternative then treatment hoping that they can recover on their own without taking any treatment. Well for that answer can be very complicated as well as simple. It basically depends on the severity and persistence of the symptoms on is having.

Few people with whom Dr R K Aggarwal has had experience with has recovered fully from depression entirely on their own using some of the natural tips and treatments which are i am going to mention in this article as well.

If anyone needs to directly come and talk with, He/She is welcome to come and talk with Dr R K Aggarwal directly.

Reaching out for a help is an important part of the recovery process but to get that help can take many forms and what works for one person may not also work for another so be careful before using any methods without prescriptions.

There are effective non-drug treatment options for mild to moderate depression.

Many people with mild to moderate depression, where sleep is adequate, can recover from depression with talk therapy and adjudicative strategies such as exercise, improved nutrition, mindfulness techniques, sunlight or light therapy, support from friends, family or a support group, and lifestyle changes. All individuals with depression should rule out a medical issue which may contribute to their depressed mood. Many medical problems, including vitamin deficiencies and hormone imbalances, can contribute to depression. Getting a thorough physical exam to rule out a medical cause is important.

If there is no clear medical cause, psychotherapy which focuses on improving self-care, reengaging in pleasurable and meaningful activities, and managing negative thoughts can be helpful in many cases. Working on issues that are impacting relationships with friends, loved ones, and

family can also greatly relieve depression in some individuals.

And for some,

exploring and resolving unresolved grief or early childhood trauma may be important.

Other approaches that can contribute to recovery include bodywork, acupuncture or other alternative medical approaches, meditation, yoga, or spiritual exploration.
Taking medication for depression, when needed, should not be viewed as a failure.

However, it is important to recognize that depression is an issue as serious as diabetes, epilepsy, or even cancer. Because it involves mood, thoughts, and behavior, it can often be treated through those channels. But there are also genetic and environmental factors that make some individuals susceptible to depression and which may result in a more persistent condition that is more difficult to treat.

{{ Depression Symptoms, Warning Signs, Types, and Warning Signs }}

Just as other conditions sometimes require medication for their treatment, depression may also require medication to fully resolve. And it is important to recover fully rather than settle for persistent mild depression. Persistent depression can become chronic and more severe over time as the brain becomes accustomed to the depressed state. Therapy and medication combined have the highest success rate in terms of resolving depression, and when therapy alone is not sufficient, it may help to consult with a doctor to discuss medication options.

It is important to remember that, when it comes to treating depression,

There is no prize for recovering “better” than another person.

Recovering without therapy, without medication—literally “on your own”— does not earn you any awards.

The prize is being emotionally healthy.

I have fallen in deep love with my friend, she is not from my religion - she is hindu brahmin girl. But I am totally mad for her, I feel so attracted towards her that I frequently masturbate imagining her, I watch her photo in my phone for hours, and always think of good moments we shared together, I hear our recorded conversation when I feel low, she just know I like her but she is unaware of my deep feelings for her as I didn't tell her my true feelings. Some times I do feel I love her but I am scared of the consequences it can have on both of us. We both hail from very conservative families. So, marriage is simply impossible, but I really love her and want her to spent her whole life with me. But the problem is I am already in a relationship and she knows that and my GF is her best friend. Because of this she started avoiding me and deliberately moving away from me, I know she too have feelings for me but she is hiding it deep inside her heart for the sake of her friendship or may be fear of society. Please help me what to do now?

M.D in Psychiatry
Psychiatrist,
you know marriage with her is impossible. I believe you eish good for her and never want to harm her. You also have a girl friend who is her friend also. Do justice to this relationship and have a nice life with her. You may come across another girl in life and get attracted to her and think you are in love and can't live without her. So every thing you and your mind desires can not be acquired in life. we have to put boundaries and live in our own limits and lead life. you are in fantasy love with the girl and also believe that the girl also had love for you. This is out wishes and trying to justify our wishes. this is not correct. love your girlfriend more and lead a good life with her.

making some basic lifestyle changes can do wonders for someone coping with elevated anxiety. Take these steps from today. 1. Take a deep breath. Deep diaphragmatic breathing triggers our relaxation response, switching from our fight-or-flight response of the sympathetic nervous system, to the relaxed, balanced response of our parasympathetic nervous system, according to, clinical psychologists, who have suggested the following exercise, which you can repeat several times: #Inhale slowly to a count of four, starting at your belly and then moving into your chest. Gently hold your breath for four counts. Then slowly exhale to four counts. 2 Be active. One of the most important things one can do to cope with anxiety] is to get regular cardiovascular exercise,” For instance, a brisk 30- to 60-minute walk “releases endorphins that lead to a reduction in anxiety.” You can start today by taking a walk. Or create a list of physical activities that you enjoy, and put them on your schedule for the week. Other options include: running, rowing, rollerblading, hiking, biking, dancing, swimming, surfing, step aerobics, kickboxing and sports such as soccer, tennis and basketball, in short just anything you can do to be physically active 3. Sleep well. Not getting enough sleep can trigger anxiety. If you’re having trouble sleeping, tonight, engage in a relaxing activity before bedtime, such as taking a warm bath, listening to soothing music or taking several deep breaths and meditation is excellent .If you’re like many people with anxiety whose brains start buzzing right before bed, jot down your worries earlier in the day for 10 to 15 minutes, or try a mental exercise like thinking of fruits with the same letter. 4. Fight an anxious thought. We all have moments wherein we unintentionally increase or maintain our own worry by thinking unhelpful thoughts. These thoughts are often unrealistic, inaccurate, or, to some extent, unreasonable.

Anxiety is a very normal emotion, which gives rise to feelings of nervousness every now and then. An anxiety disorder is a serious medical condition in which people experience a high degree of distress and mental trauma, which hinders a normal life. People suffering from this medical condition experience high levels of anxiety and nervousness almost all the time. Here are the cardinal symptoms that indicate you're suffering from anxiety disorder. 1. Troublesome & Excess worry - This condition prevails if you worry about the day to day activities too much on a regular basis. It is identified when you start taking too much stress about very common and routine things, related to life or work which tends to affect you in an adverse way. A noticeable sign of excessive worry can be too much fatigue. 2. Lack of Sleep/irregular, disturbed sleep - Problems in falling asleep at the right time and problems in maintaining an uninterrupted sleep are two signs that indicate you have an anxiety disorder. 3. Baseless / Irrational fears - This symptom is not generalized; instead, it is specific and subjective in relation to a particular thing or situation. The fears that are experienced under this category are sudden and unexpected in nature and there is no fixed rationale behind these fears. One may ear of death or accident or fall from a plane and so on .... 4. Muscle pain - Muscle discomfort and pain is one of the leading physiological causes of an anxiety disorder. The pain felt is chronic and pervasive, and is very common among people facing situations of anxiety. If you are exposed to constant periods of anxiety, you will experience fatigue, muscle pains and lethargy or unwillingness to work. 5. Unexplained indigestion - Problems related to the digestive system are also a sign of anxiety disorder. In this case, you may face constant digestive problems accompanied by a common disorder called IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). IBS refers to an anxiety situation in the digestive tract, which is characterized by sudden urge to defecate on eating, stomach aches, cramping, bloating, gas, constipation, and/or diarrhoea. Apart from the above-mentioned symptoms, other symptoms of an anxiety disorder include stage fright, self- consciousness, panic attacks, memory flashbacks, perfectionism, compulsive behaviours, self- doubt, and such others. She needs counselling and therapy

Hi doc,
from past few days m in depression please suggest what to do .quick .thanks.
Depression may affect all the people during some part of their life. In some people it comes and passes away soon whereas some individuals are not able to cope with the depressive situations of life and they continue to suffer which affects their physical and mental health.  Please make a note of it that it's a phase and it will pass. *it is necessary to take enough sleep to get relief from depression. Insomnia or loss of sleep is one of the important causes of depression. Therefore, people who lack sleep should calm down their brain by taking normal sleep. *you should go out with friends and enjoy in the company of others. Do not sit alone for longer periods of time. One should engage in several activities of recreation to get some entertainment. * Morning walk increases the supply of oxygen to the brain and it helps in removing the symptoms of depression. *Healthy food is very necessary to get relief from the state of depression. *drink more water to remove the waste chemical substances from the body. *Exercise also helps in the treatment of depression. *Yoga asana and mild exercise helps to increase the supply of blood to the brain and gives quick relief from depressive state of mind. Try following these ,and report me after 15 days .if need be felt we can go for some ayurvedic medicine s and counseling. You can consult me personally for that .

Fear is dangerous. It means you have lost confidence on yourself and you are unable to make the right decision. You imagine what may go wrong. You mess up your brain for nothing. There is more perceived fear than actual fear. Stop imagining and start living.
