Study with a calm & relaxed mind. Try to enjoy your studies & stay positive. Do not take your studies as a stress. Take the following measures to improve your concentration & prepare well: •Make a study routine giving maximum time for studies. Also give adequate time for sleep, rest & relaxation. Between studies you have to relax also. This will help in sustaining your interest & concentration. Try to stick to your routine. At night look back how much you could follow the routine & reward yourself if the day was productive & to your satisfaction. In the form of reward you can give little extra time for relaxation next day, watch TV or spend some with internet, eat something you like, meet a friend etc. Encourage yourself daily. •Revise your lessons regularly. •Study relaxly with a calm mind & take small breaks during studies. •Group studies & group discussions are also helpful. •Do not try to memorize blindly. Try to understand your lessons. •Write down the main points & form mnemonics from them. Mnemonic devices are techniques which help to remember something. It’s a simple shortcut that helps us associate the information we want to remember with an image, a sentence, or a word. •Have a plan to manage your time of study. Make a routine for studying. Study for 30-45 minutes & then take 5-10 mins break. •Be confident of yourself & do not compare yourself with others. •If you feel stressed while studying, talk to someone, listen to some music or do something that relax you. •Create the environment in your study room similar to your exam hall. Then you will find your exam hall comfortable & familiar. •Expect exam outcomes rationally & what is within your capability. Impractical & over expectation that is beyond one’s capability brings in fear & frustration. •During these days of preparation for exam eat healthy, stay hydrated & avoid substances of abuse, as a healthy body prepares a healthy mind. •Every morning relax yourself adequately before you sit for studies; go for a walk, spend some time with nature, go for a walk, do yoga, breathing exercise or relaxation techniques. •On the day prior to exam sleep adequately. •Reach the examination hall before time so that you are relaxed & mentally prepared for the exam. Do not guess the exam outcomes just target to give your best. Think positive. Start writing with a calm mind. Be aware of the anxiety symptoms, & if you feel anxiety is building up, just concentrate on breathing in & out slowly or tighten & relax your shoulders or stretch your legs. You can also take a small break & drink some water •Do not look around; just concentrate on your paper. •Revise quickly once you finish answering. All the best for your preparation & for your exam. Give your best.

Relax dear Lybrate user. I can understand the intensity of pain caused by losing a loved one. In your case I think it is the ego clash between you and your boyfriend is playing a vital role. I mean you are not willing to breakup the relationship with him unconsciously but due some superficial and tiny matters you have agreed to lose his relationship consciously. This state of mind may lead you to depression. My suggestion is "BE IN THE MIDDLE" I mean maintain a healthy relationship with him, not so deep and not so far. Never give up a relationship all of a sudden. Keep in touch with him until you get a new one. Who knows the same person may be having the same state of mind as you are in.

Get a complete hemogram, TSH and Vitamin B12 level. If there are any abnormalities here, they will need to be corrected. If they are normal, it is almost certainly related to what is known as registration deficit. This occurs due to mild anxiety related problems. They can be easily treated with medicines such as escitalopram, sertraline or paroxetine. It can be started and kept at low doses only. They have no side effects. Some amount of supervision will be needed from doctor. Take care!

Acomprol should never be taken with alcohol and must be prescribed by a doctor. You are playing dangerously by taking this medication without doctor's prescription and monitoring. Chewing tobacco is really harmful especially because it is known to cause oral cancer and oral submucous fibrosis (SMF). Since it is an oral habit there are many substitutes that can be used to replace the oral stimulation. Of course, since it is a stimulant you cannot get the same effect and that is worth the loss to give up this very addictive habit. A dense fibrous tissue is deposited in the submucosal layer of the soft palate and cheek, causing disabling symptoms like trismus. It contains betel nuts, tobacco, lime, catechu and permitted spices and flavors. The first four substances damage the sensitive mucosa, causing constant irritation and micro trauma to the mucosa. Chemicals present act as a toxin. The phenol in the betel nut, with its caustic burning effect, destroys the mucosa, causing oral ulcers. The betel nut also contains tannins, which act as astringents, precipitating protein and damaging the mucosa. Altogether, this substance is known to be physiologically addictive. You can use replacements like nicotine chewing gum (if you want the stimulant effect, especially in the beginning) or ordinary chewing gum, hard candy and any other orally satiating substance, especially when the urge is very strong. You would have got conditioned to the habit to different times of the day and different situations. You must particularly avoid those occasions and occupy yourself with something else attractive. You should get regular exercise, eat healthily, and get a good night’s rest every day. Visit a dentist and clean up your teeth and gums to wipe out all the reminders and damages of the habit. You may also get a thorough oral check up and treatment for any damages incurred. If he is unable to give it up on his own, he needs to be admitted into a rehabilitation center nearby until he is completely out of it. They will have him deal with all other issues also and so his anger outbursts will also get attention. The anger may or may not have anything to do with the addiction but still it is better he deals with it in the course of his therapy.

M 27 female. I love a person who younger then me. His age 21 we both love each other. I cannot live without him. Can you please suggest any age problem with our relationship. I want to Marry him and his also. But now he is studying. Usne apne ghar par mere bare mein bhi bataya hai ki main badi hu usse but 1-2 saal jyada ni. Kya aage chalkar age issue matter karega. Please suggest.

For a couple to stay together, emotional, intellectual and sexual compatibility matters a lot. What you both think about this age gap and you being older, matters a lot. Do you think, you can think about him as an equal partner and not someone younger to you, after you get married? because otherwise you will keep" mothering" him and the relation may suffer. It is also important for you to understand what you both want from life. Talk to him about his expectations from his spouse, about his dreams, etc and talk to him about your expectations and dreams. Also think, that in case you both have some opposition from your respective families, then would you still like to go ahead with this relation? sexual compatability can be a major cause of concern. Please discuss about it with him. If possible, go to a marriage counsellor. Then it will be easier for you to take this decision.

Hello, There are many aspects of depression, the more of them you have the more likely you are to have a clinical depression. Some patients feel severely depressed and suicidal. If you have these feelings you should go to the emergency department immediately. Other things that people with depression can feel are sadness, low energy, lack of motivation, poor sleep, irritability, weight gain or loss, poor self image and sometimes even a lack of touch with reality. The more of these symptoms you have the more likely it is that you have serious depression. Treatments for depression include medications, counseling and exercise. Again the more of these you do the better your chance for a successful treatment. Good luck to you,
