How To Avoid Knee Pain

These days, knee pain us very common in people aged 40 yrs and more.
Following non medicinal tips will help to avoid knee pain and decrease it if it is already there.

  • Live active lifestyle.
  • Walk or jog atleast 30 min per day.
  • One can use fitness app and target 5000 steps using their smart phone.
  • Avoid sitting cross leg on floor.
  • Avoid squatting position.
  • Do quadriceps exercise daily.
  • Don't let your weight increase. If you are borderline obese, act to control.

I have joint pain and also ankle and neck pain. Please consult me something to resolve it.
Try some remedies for joint pain: -ice packs can be used to soothe hot, swollen joints. -heat packs help to relax tense, tired muscles. -splinting of swollen or painful joints may be helpful, a physiotherapist or an occupational therapist (ot) may provide temporary splints for you. -pace yourself: overdoing things can increase your pain, but so can not doing enough. Your physiotherapist can advise you on increasing your activity level at a rate you can cope with and on finding the right balance between rest and activity. -take regular graded exercise: graded exercise starts slowly and increases in small steps. This will help you to strengthen your muscles and joints and increase your fitness. Improving your general fitness and stamina will help you to increase your activity level without increasing your pain. -mobilising, stretching and strengthening: your physiotherapist will assess your muscle strength and the range of movement in your joints, and advise on techniques and exercises so you can keep your joints working as well as possible. Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Inform after 5 days.

Stiffness & pain in back & other joints is quite a common condition. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Do back (spine) exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do ask for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

I am having back pain in left side from one month, sometimes it is fine. Mostly it comes while sleeping.

Your bed is not comfortable and if your keeping your purse in back side of pocket than take out when your sitting that helps to correct your posture. And driving a car or bike your posture should be straight and in car you can keep one custionon your back. And take some physiotherapy session s.

I am 35 year old having Backache since last 4-5 year. Now it has become more painful & there is tingling in both leg & below waist.& there is also pain in neck seems that cervical spondiolosis. I have done MRI & X-RAY & other Test like uric acid/RA factor ESR etc but all test ae normal. Please Advise

Back pain at your age is not uncommon. It can be cause due to several factors like slip disc, arthritis, vitamin deficiency etc. You need to be checked thoroughly by an experienced orthopedic surgeon. Sometimes a progressive disc prolapse is not evident in initial MRI. You should get a high quality contrast MRI for better diagnosis. Facet joint arthritis in the spine can cause similar pain and can be missed in MRI scan also. I will be able to advise better if I check you personally.

Hi, your pain is a postural defect which requires physiotherapy. Try to correct your sitting & sleeping postur, take, homoeo medicine: @ rhus tox 200-6 pills, thrice. @ arnica mont200-6 pills, thrice. Avoid, jerks, bending down to lift heavy weight. Take, care.

Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. Inform after 10 days for further guidance.

u need to start back muscles strengthning exercises gradually and regularly. Avoid lifting heavy weight avoid bending forward and sitting for longer duration.
