Dear lybrate-user. Acne occur because of multiple reasons. They are clubbed under natural and unnatural category. The natural treatment options include avoiding oily diet, stress and unnecessary medications. Unfortunately, these are not enough to get rid of the acne. Please visit a Dermatologist for prime treatment options.

Does eating non veg cause acne, I've noticed whenever I eat non veg (mostly chicken) I get breakouts within 1-2 days. I do not get acne if I do not eat non veg or is it just a psychological effect?

Non-veg should not lead to acne if your digestion is good. If non-veg is hard for your body to digest, you may be accumulating toxins that causes acne.

Start taking black til (seasam) with a glass of lukewarm milk early morning. Avoid pickles, spices, oily, greesy food items, too much of salt in food shud be avoided. Start avle ka murabba daily. Also have a high protien rich diet e. G. Pulses, dry fruits, black gram, ground nut etc, white of egg (if you eat egg). Also oil your hair with good herbal oil and wash with herbal shamppoo - avoid shampoos with high acid contents. As far as ayurveda's therapy is concerned - start with shirodhara with herbal oil and nasyam therapy for atleast 15 days. This will greatly help. Do gentle massage with herbal hair oil daily night for 15 minutes. Although some herbal medicines might also help you but after proper history taking. Please update with your valuable feedback.

You have provided some details about your wife's condition but certain other details are also needed, which I am mentioning. Please let me know her hba1c level and is she taking any thing else for diabetes other than glucobay? because only glucobay does not control sugar level. Furthe what is her lipid profile? and which drug is she taking for that? then which 5 mg tablet she is taking for her high blood pressure? if she has been diagnosed to have pvd which means blood supply to that part of the lower limb is affected. This can be corrected by vascular surgeon and proper blood supply can be restored. That is the best option for her pain relief and getting undisturbed sleep. To get better control of diabetes she may have to take additional treatment.

Your headache is due to computer eye strain computer eye strain is known as computer vision syndrome please follow the advice given below. 1. Take a break-use 20-20 rule, take a break for 20 second after working in computer for 20 minutes and look at some thing 20 feet away. 2. Blink frequently to prevent dryness of eyes 3. Use of computer glass- it optimises your eye sight when you are looking at digital screen and helps to decrease glare 4. Keep your monitor bright- this decreases flicker 5. Follow these simple steps to ensure a good sleep every night and stay away from sleep disorders and other health problems associated with unhealthy sleep habits: 1) maintain a regular sleep routine go to bed at the same time. Wake up at the same time. Ideally, your schedule will remain the same (+/- 20 minutes) every night of the week. A good sleep hygiene routine promotes healthy sleep and daytime alertness. 2) avoid sleeping during the daytime. It can disturb the normal pattern. 3) avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol near bedtime. While alcohol may speed the onset of sleep, it creates problems in he second half of sleep. 4) exercise can promote good sleep. Exercise should be taken in the morning or late afternoon. Yoga, can be done before bed to help. 5) have a quiet, comfortable bedroom. Set your bedroom thermostat at a comfortable temperature. Generally, a little cooler is better than a little warmer. Turn off the tv and other extraneous noise that may disrupt sleep. Background'white noise' like a fan is ok. If your pets awaken you, keep them outside the bedroom. Your bedroom should be dark. Turn off bright lights. Have a comfortable mattress. 6) avoid heavy meals close to bedtime. 7) ensure adequate exposure to natural light. 8) avoid emotionally upsetting conversations and activities before trying to go to sleep. Do not think of, or bring your problems to bed. 9) stop using all your digital devices and stop looking at digital screens be it mobile phones or televisions at least 1 hour before the time you plan to sleep. Instead try reading a fiction book near bedtime so it makes you help relaxed and de-stressed. Sleep well live healthy and live longer.

I have red mole a lot in my entire body. Day by day it is increasing. please suggest how to vanish those mole.

B.Sc. - Dietitics / Nutrition, Nutrition Certification,Registered Dietitian
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Delhi
Red moles are harmless and are not a worrying sign of the health of your skin; they are indicators that there's something in your life that you're not doing all that well or simply are the consequences of stress, hormonal changes or genetics. One of the most common factors for these marks appearing is the malfunctioning of the liver, so it will be imperative to start taking care of this organ if you want to enjoy a healthy life. But besides the liver, this type of mole is also caused by eating disorders and unhealthy living, so if you want to prevent them, take note of these tips: •Drink plenty of water: at least 2 litres of water per day is recommended to help your body stay hydrated and flush out the toxins that it stores. •Add fresh vegetables to your diet: the antioxidant and nourishing power of raw vegetables are perfect to help you have a healthy body. Carrot or celery are perfect for eating raw and are delicious. •Lemon juice on an empty stomach: there is a lot of talk about the benefits of lemon juice on an empty stomach and it is highly advisable to get cleanse the body and remove toxins. •Protect yourself from the sun: even if it is not summer or you don't plan on sunbathing, it is important that your daily moisturizer also works as sunscreen or before applying your makeup, you should put on sunscreen to avoid the sun's negative impact on your skin.

At high altitudes the atmospheric pressure decreases and hence the oxygen pressure in the air too is low which creates difficulty in breathing. A person with poor vital capacity suffers more than a normal fit person. Get yourself checked for hemoglobin adequacy and respiratory function so that you don't face any emergency there. As for your vomiting problem, it could be due to motion sickness. A tablet prescribed by your physician and taken 1 hour before actual start of journey can solve this problem.

I am suffering with fever.

AUTLS, CCEDM, MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
General Physician,
I am suffering with fever.
Fever is not considered medically significant until body temperature is above 100.4 F (38 C). Fever serves as body's natural defences against bacteria and viruses which cannot live at higher temperatures. Also, the body's defence mechanisms seem to work more efficiently at a higher temperature -Fevers of 104 F (40 C) or higher may be dangerous and demand immediate treatments like: -Acetaminophen (dolo-650 mg) twice or thrice can be used to lower a fever . Aspirin should not be used for fever in children/ adolescents or during a viral illness. -Wear loose fitting clothes and don’t overdress. Overdressing can cause temperature to rise further. -Tepid water (85 F [30 C]) baths may help bring down a fever  -The body should be cooled with a wet sponge. -A fever can cause severe dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids.. Have citrus fruits, particularly Vitamin C rich ones like mausami, Amla juice etc.  -Take light and easily digestible home cooked meals like sprouts.avoid outside food -Wash hands frequently with soap and water especially after returning from public places or public transport.  -Further therapy depends on the cause of fever like urinary infection/typhoid or malaria/dengue infection and the accompanying symptoms that need to be investigated and treated accordingly
