Top Remedies To Get Rid Of Acidity

Top Remedies To Get Rid Of Acidity
Top Remedies To Get Rid Of Acidity

Over eating or spicy food gives us regular or once-in-a-while acidity. While we all love to indulge in good food, at times, we are forced to abstain for fear of the acidic reaction that follows.

Follow these simple home remedies which can cure and help combat acidity.

1) Cold milk - milk has calcium which stops acid build up in the stomach. For immediate relief from acidity, it is advised to drink a glass of cold milk.

2) Fennel Seeds - if you have had a spicy or a heavy meal, chew on some fennel seeds as is the habit in india, traditionally.

3) Ginger - ginger has anti-inflammatory properties which help cure acidity. All that one needs to do is chew on a slice of ginger. If you have a chronic acidity problem, you can make it a habit to drink the water with ginger boiled in it.

4) Cloves - if you face problems with acidity regularly, it is advisable to carry cloves with you at all times. Chew a few cloves everytime you feel acidic.

5) Basil Leaves - chew basil leaves at the first sign of acidity. Alternatively, you can also boil 3-5 leaves in a cup of water for a few minutes. Drink this water for relief. While you can add honey for taste, do not add milk.

6) Cinnamon - boil half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder in a cup of water for a few minutes and drink it throughout the day.

7) Buttermilk - lactic acid in buttermilk helps dilute the acidity in your stomach. Drink chilled buttermilk bit by bit throughout the day or until you get relief.

8) Cardamom - cardamom is known to sooth the inner lining of our stomach to reduce the effects of excess acid produced in the stomach. You can crush a couple of cardamom pods, boil in water, and drink it for instant relief.

9) Mint Leaves - mint leaves help digestion and in lowering the acid content in our stomach. Boil some chopped mint leaves in water, cool the water and drink it.

10) Banana - bananas contain natural antacids. Potassium in bananas keeps the acid production in your stomach under check. Eat a ripe or overripe banana to beat acidity.

It is not acidity rather its a misnomer actual term is hyperacidity since there is already acid present normally in the stomach and it is necessary for normal digestion, but when abnormally increased which can lead to burning sensation in stomach (heart burn) eructations gastric/peptic ulcers and is also called as" hurry curry worry syndrome" avoid hurried lifestyle, take balanced diet of non-chilly type, and avoid tension. Addictions must be avoided. For time being you can have rx tab rantac 150 mg syp mucaine gel twice daily for 3 to 5 days. Regards.

What are precautions for gall stones? Is there another way for treatment except laparoscopic surgery?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)

Proper diet should be taken and current diet should be made to half. Avoid taking dinner after taking dinner after 6-7 pm. That will help in avoiding pain also stones should be removed and that will be done with our medicines only. We follow the process in which patient needs to take medicines for 35 days and expel stones on 36th day of the treatment. It can be cured but not only with homeopathic medicines, you need to take medicines that can help in removing them naturally such as our medicines combination of herbal and homeo that will help in removing stones via motion passage. Hello chronic duodenal ulcer is well known to cause heavy bleeding which explains the black coloured stool. Since h. Pylori is negative, the said treatment seems to have been started. This needs a surgical gastroenterologist (surgeon who specializes in intestinal surgery) care at the earliest. Diet wise, make sure patient takes a semi solid diet. Include some chicken or mutton liver weekly in his diet to make up for the blood he's losing. Hope this helps. Warm regards,

Hi lybrate-user, I appreciate you seeking help. Your symptoms, apparently, are owing to severe acidity/ reflux. It possibly has a bearing on your dietary patterns, lifestyle and stress levels. I would suggest you to streamline your diet and lifestyle and relax/ de-stress on a regular basis. It is necessary that you stay cool and think positive. Do take more of wheat grain cereals, fresh fruits & leafy greens and ensure that the food is well cooked, bland yet tasty & easily digestible. Avoid hot, chilly, spicy & oily & greasy hard to digest foods. Also, restrict intake of tea, coffee, alcohol, and other high calorie foods like carbonated sugary drinks, packaged juices, sweets, pastries et al. It is good to take smaller amounts of food in regular intervals rather than taking three large meals. Sitting in ‘Vajrasana’ post every meal, helps digest better. Drink plenty of fluids, at least 8 – 10 glasses of water daily and avoid taking water intermittently while eating as this will hamper effective digestion of food. Brisk walk for at least 30 to 45 minutes, 5 to 6 days a week, unless you have any other health issue or advised otherwise by your doc. Amla, ginger, mint, tulsi, ripe banana, cold milk etc also help arrest acidity & associated issues. At the same time it is also advisable for one to restrict alcohol & stop smoking completely. Hope this helps arrest your acidity issues and also help prevent relapse of any gastric ulcers in future. Do take care and all the very best. Sincerely
