Hi, I am 28. I am facing problem of hair fall and which is even increasing from last 1 year. I consulted with few doctors. They said its Male Pattern Baldness which is genetically in my case (as per history of my parents and grand parents). One of the doctor told me to go for Soft Tissue Mobilization therapy and Homeopathy treatment along with that. I just wanted to know, is it feasible to go for it or what kind of result it has. Or if there is any other treatment to cure my further hair loss or to gain my hairs back. Please advice me for that.

Hi. It's normal to lose up to 100 hair per day, and in most people, those hairs grow back. But many men -- and some women -- lose hair as they grow older. You can also lose your hair if you have certain diseases, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or lupus. If you take certain medicines or have chemotherapy for cancer, you may also lose your hair. Other causes are stress, a low protein diet, a family history, use of bore water, or nutritional deficiencies. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg, eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, vitamin b12, iron, zinc and omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin), different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. Walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you fit and young! Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, you can take one tablet of multivitamin Folli Hair once daily for 1 month (as premature greying of hair could be due to nutritional deficiency and get your Thyroid Function Test also done). Get your blood tested for CBC, Hb%, S. Ferritin, S. Folic acid, S. Iron, S. vitamin B12, S. vitamin D3, S. Calcium.

Ayurvedic Home Remedies For Hair Fall:

Here are best ayurvedic tips for hair growth:

1. Bhringaraj – The king of Herbs:

This herb is also known as king of herbs in ayurveda for hair because it has the property to enhance hair growth. All you need to do is make a paste out of the leaves and apply it on the scalp for some time before washing it off. Some people do not have easy access to this herb, thus, you can grab a pack of dried Bhringraj, steep 5-6 tbsps in warm water and apply the paste for 20 minutes before washing off. Doing this on a regular basis promotes hair growth.

2. The Aromatic Jatamansi:

A common name for this herb in ayurvedic medicines for hair growth is Muskroot or the Indian Spikenard. It has the power to remove blood impurities as well as give a glowing complexion. You can either consume it in the form of capsule (sticking to not more than 6mgs) or applying it directly on the scalp.

3. Methi – Miracle Herb:

Methi is a commonly used herb in our households, an excellent remedy for hair growth. Grind some slightly dry roasted methi, make a paste of it in warm water depending on hair length and keep it on for 20 minutes before washing off.

4. The Indian Goose Berry:

Better known as Amla or Amlaki, this ayurvedic solution for hair fall helps in treating indigestion and purifies the blood. It is also rich in Vitamin C, which solves many hair problems from within. Grab dried /powdered Amla has to be mixed with warm water and used on the scalp to promote thick and black hair. It also imparts colour and solves other problems.

Hi. Let me tell you about hairfall. In layman's language, hairfall can be divided into 2 types - temporary hairfall and permanent (which is called as 'Hairloss' rather). In temporary hairfall, hair grows back again from the same hair root, but in case of permanent hairloss, may be because of formation of DHT (Di- Hydro -Testosterone) around hair root it gets choked up, subsequently affects the blood supply to the hair and thus hair root is lost forever. (There are different pattern and types of hairloss, because of different reasons like Alopecia Areata, Telogen Effluvium, Scarring Alopecia, Traction Alopecia, etc.) Causes of hairloss: Many factors are responsible formation of this DHT or male/ female pattern baldness - hereditary, post-illness/ ailment, post-delivery, post- chemotherapy, nutritional deficiencies, hormaonal imbalance, insufficient sleep, sudden loss of weight, stress/ tensions/ excessive anger, use of bore water, any other underlying diseases, etc. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs, pulses, legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnut and almonds), iron-rich food like green vegetables, also take flaxseeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200/ twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, take Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month. (N.B.: With the help of homoeopathic medicines, we can only prevent further progress of the hairloss, means it will get arrests in the present condition in case of progressive baldness. But, in case there are areas of baldness which has gone smooth and shiny, you will have to choose an option of Hair Transplant along with theses medications!).

Suffering from hair loss and I am trying every thing but nothing is working pls suggest me some home remedies.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda,
Suffering from hair loss and I am trying every thing but nothing is working pls suggest me some home remedies.
Hair loss or Alopecia is an extremely emotionally distressing hair disorder. Hair loss can be of many types, the most common being androgenetic alopecia which refers to male pattern baldness or female pattern baldness. Natural remedies can significantly improve this hair disorder. Telogen effluvium is another hair disorder which appears as a diffuse thinning of hair on the scalp and is caused by a change in the number of hair follicles growing hair. This condition is totally reversible. Another common form of hair loss is the Alopecia areata (AA). It is an autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune system attacks the hair follicles. Other types of alopecia such as scarring alopecia can cause lot of damage and permanent hair loss. Again, congenital hypotrichosis is a hair disorder that involves genetic aberrations or defects of embryonic development. Causes of hair loss • Hormonal imbalance • Dandruff or lice • Problems with bowel movement • Certain drugs and chemicals • Anemia, weakness after diseases, stress and anxiety • Genetic aberrations Remedies for hair loss Most of the remedies for hair loss are applied to the hair, whereas others are for regular internal consumption that helps prevent hair loss. Certain precautions and lifestyle changes can also help prevent hair fall. Some of the natural remedies are listed here. Massages and application • Massage the head with hot olive oil for 15-20 minutes and then wash it off with shampoo. This can effectively reduce hair fall. • Apply a mixture of lemon juice and amla (Phyllanthus emblica) and wash it off after half an hour. This helps control dandruff. • Mix neem (Azadirachta indica) oil with coconut oil and massage the head for 15-20 minutes. Wash it off with shampoo. Alternatively, boil neem leaves in water for an hour and let it cool. Wash the hair with this water. This helps reduce hair fall. • Massage juice of fresh coriander onto the scalp to reduce hair loss. • Apply a well blended paste made from pigeon pea and red gram on the hair and scalp and leave it on for about half an hour. Wash it off. This remedy helps treat hair loss and baldness. • Add 1 gm of ground black pepper in 100 gm of curd/yogurt and apply to the scalp. Wash hair with warm water. Applying it once a week will stop further hair loss. Lifestyle changes • Stress and tension is known to cause hair loss. So, learn to relax. Try to reduce stress and tension in your life through yoga and meditation. • Diet and nutrition also plays an important role in hair growth and maintenance. Include plenty of fresh fruits and leafy vegetables in your diet. Pay special attention to your breakfast. • Conditioners can damage hair roots. Take care to apply conditioner (after shampooing) only on the hair and not to the scalp or hair roots. Herbal and Ayurvedic remedies for hair loss Ayurvedic treatment involves attacking the root cause of the disorder. It is believed that excess of Pitta dosha in the body is the main cause of hair disorders. Pitta is increased by excessive consumption of tea, coffee, alcohol, and excessive smoking. Oily, spicy, and acidic foods also tend to increase Pitta. So the first step is to change the diet or lifestyle conditions responsible for increasing Pitta dosha. Regular physical exercise and inclusion of fresh fruits and green vegetables in the diet is useful in correcting hair disorder. Irregular bowel movement and constipation can indirectly affect hair health. A mild laxative or Triphala (Ayurvedic preparation) can be useful in such cases. We are born with 5 million hair follicles of which only one million hair (shafts) show up on the head. Five million hair follicles is the maximum we can have because we do not generate new hair follicles during our lives. Drinking a mixture of lettuce juice and spinach juice regularly helps induce hair growth by stimulating the dormant hair follicles. Alfalfa juice, carrot juice, and lettuce juice mixed in equal proportion also serves the same purpose. Grind licorice in milk and apply the paste on the bald patches of the scalp. This helps induce hair growth. There is a special Ayurvedic treatment for hair loss and it is called ‘Thala podichil’. The treatment involves application of an herbal pack for 21 days. The herbal pack consists of just one herb or a mixture of herbs depending upon the constitution of the patient. An Ayurvedic remedy prepared from Bhringaraj herb (Eclipta alba), Amla (Phyllanthus emblica), corals, iron, and black sesame seeds is very beneficial for treating hair loss as well as graying of hair. Oil massage helps stop hair loss. Gently massage the scalp with coconut oil or mustard oil at least three times a week. Herbal massage oils such as Mahabhringaraj oil, Amla oil, or Arnica oil are also very useful in controlling hair fall. Since chemicals and certain drugs are responsible for causing hair loss, it is best to use natural shampoos or soaps to clean the hair. Here’s a home made recipe for shampoo – Soak dried fruits of Amla (Phyllanthus emblica), Reetha (Sapindus detergens), and Shikakai (Acacia concinna) overnight and boil the mixture in the morning. Allow it to cool before using it as natural shampoo. Yoga and meditation also help control hair fall by reducing stress and other hair loss causing conditions. Vajransana, Pawanmuktasana, the camel pose, are some of the important yogasanas that help tackle hair problems. Although there is no dearth of hair loss treatments available in the market, natural remedies for hair loss can be a feasible option if we consider the fact that it has no side effects, it is easily available, and it is relatively inexpensive.

Hello hello. Hair fall is becoz of Thyroid disease, anemia, protein deficiency, chemotherapy, and low vitamin levels may cause hair loss. Take homeopathic treatment for complete cure. As long as follow this tips: 1.Hair Oil Massage. The first step that you can take to reduce hair loss is to massage your scalp with appropriate hair oil. 2. Take the white of one egg and mix in a teaspoon of olive oil. Beat to give a paste-like consistency and apply to the entire scalp and hair. Keep it on for about 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse with cool water and a mild shampoo. 3.Treat hair loss naturally by eating more vitamins and supplements, and minerals for hair loss, such as Vitamin C, Biotin, Niacin, Iron and Zinc. If you cannot get these nutrients in the foods you eat, try vitamins for hair growth. 4. Vitamin C, B vitamins such as Biotin (Vitamin B7 or Vitamin H) and Niacin (Vitamin B3) have been shown to be essential vitamins for hair growth. To maintain shiny, healthy hair and provide the nutrients your hair needs, maintain a balanced diet with these top vitamins for hair growth. 5.The best sources are blackcurrants, blueberries, broccoli, guava, kiwi fruits, oranges, papaya, strawberries and sweet potatoes. Vitamin C helps in the production of collagen that strengthens the capillaries that supply the hair shafts. 6. Apply aloe vera gel or juice onto the scalp. Leave it on for a few hours and then wash it off with lukewarm water. Repeat the process three to four times a week. For better result consult me.

6 Foods that Can Help You to Get a Glowing Skin

We are all aware of how certain foods affect our overall health and weight. There are foods that work more than just boosting your metabolism or keeping a check on your blood sugar levels. Some foods can even improve your skin’s quality!

Here are some foods you can incorporate in your diet for healthy, glowing skin:

  1. Tomatoes: The chemical that imparts tomato its red colour, lycopene, has amazing benefits for your skin. Lycopene is an antioxidant that can brighten skin and slow down aging. The best way to reap its benefits is to eat tomato-based foods 3-5 times in a week.

  2. Green Tea: Loaded with antioxidants, and acne-fighting powers, the humble green tea can protect your skin like no other. From acne to dull skin to aging, 3 to 5 cups of green tea can keep all that at bay, and give you healthy, glowing skin.

  3. Berries: Berries that are deeply coloured, such as cherries, strawberries and blueberries, are packed with antioxidants, which can counter blemishes and add that coveted glow to your face.

  4. Seafood and Fish: Seafood and fish are rich in omega-3 fatty acids—a source of good fats. Eating good amounts of fats actually slows the process of wrinkling and combats acne problems, and everybody knows these two skin problems are a glowing skin’s biggest enemies. You can eat 5 servings of fish in a week to make your skin supple and glow.

  5. Pumpkin Seeds: It’s not surprising that pumpkin seeds are called superfoods. These minuscule seeds contain numerous essential minerals like zinc, magnesium, copper, phosphorus, and manganese. They are rich in antioxidants and provide generous quantities of vitamins E and A, and contain essential vitamins including vitamin K and B. It protects your cell membranes, helps maintain collagen, promotes skin renewal, and anti-aging skin care. Enjoy pumpkin seeds on their own as a snack, add them into a homemade trail mix, or sprinkle them on yogurt or oatmeal.

  6. Carrots: Carrots are rich in beta carotene, which prevents cell degeneration. It slows down aging and adds a healthy glow to your skin. Carrots contain vitamin A, which has been found to have beneficial effects on wrinkles, lines and dull skin. You can drink carrot juice, or put them in your salads to get maximum benefits. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.
