I am 61 year old type-2 diabetic. My fasting always remains high. My latest glucose fasting is 144, glucose PP is 145 and HbA1C is 7.3 with ayurvedic medicines and physical exercises. Do I need more medicines to bring down my glucose fasting? I understand that a random measurement of up to 180 is considered as pre-diabetic.

Fasting 144 and HbA1c 7.3 suggests established diabetes. At present you can start 20 min walk after dinner which might help in controlling fasting. Later on you may need to start metformin. Please consult any diabetologist before starting medication.

If depression is the main problem you should continue to be under the care of a psychiatrist regularly. Apart from medication you should have healthy life style, regular exercise like walking, relaxing techniques like deep breathing, pranayaam, etc and counselling by psychologist to get at the root of problem

HI, Taking sleeping pill to sleep well at this age is not advisable because you will get addicted to it and the medicine has its own side effects. Please follow these tips: Don't get too worried and anxious. Relax well. Avoid drinking coffee or tea after 7 PM, Take hot water bath before going to bed. Have light food and drink a glass of warm milk at night. Listen to soothing music or read some magazines while you are on bed. Keep your mobile in silent mode at night. Do not work on your laptop on the bed or watch TV till late night. Sleep in a dark and silent room. If you follow the above tips, you will be able to sleep well without any medication.

Fat burners are not good for health it will damage your kidneys ,instead of fat burners try natural procedure like drink grean tea and take protein shek after your aerobic workout. Avoid taking heavy meals at a time ,try to eat samll meals like 5 times that will reduce your appetite and reduce weight.

There are several causes of tooth discoloration, including: foods/drinks. Coffee, tea, colas, wines, and certain fruits and vegetables (for example, apples and potatoes) can stain your teeth. Poor dental hygiene. Inadequate brushing and flossing. Here is home remedy for brighter teeth--- mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid effecting enamel. If you are using just water you can leave it on for up to 3 minutes. For faster result you can go for teeth bleaching from dentist.

You need to get yourself checked what you are having is called is intermittent arrhythmia which means that intermittently your heart rate increases or the heart Rhythm changes which can be dangerous if it does not get corrected on its own. But to diagnose it you need to get an ECG done while you are having the rhythm problem or you can get holter monitoring for 24 hours during which if you have this episode it will get registered and documented. Also you need to get a complete lipid profile done to check if you need any medication for Cholesterol also.

I am taking one teaspoonful of cinnamon powder+3times honey on empty stomach. I am 69 year old and I am taking this as a precaution for cholesterol and heart related possibilities. Are there any side effects of this and can I continue this for an extended period?

I have not heard of this in my lifetime for cholesterol! Try eating lots of garlic. If you cant have it get it homeopathically allium sativum,(biochemic) nat phos. Avoid all types of fats and red meat. Requires detailed questioning so as to ascertain your personality and to treat you symptomatically. Hello, there can be many reasons behind it like mental worries, nutritional deficiency, hereditary and anaemia. Take homoeopathic medicine lycopodium 30 (4 drops in little water) twice a day for 15 days and revert. Apply jobarandi hair oil. *make a habit of 8-10 glasses of water daily. *eat healthy and balanced food like pulses, green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits and nuts etc. *eggs as it is loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, vitamin b12, iron, zinc and omega 6 fatty acids in large amount. *add more vitamin rich food to your diet. *avoid stress and anger. *cut down the use of hair spray, hair gel. *take a sound sleep. *avoid too much exposure of your hair to sunlight. *avoid hot hair styling tools, as they damage hair and cause split ends.

Flouride in a proper amount is necessary for teeth. All toothpaste are okay. It's better to improve brushing technique. Visit a dentist and ask how to brush.

If you want to gain weight, your daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. Needed:
2 tbsp of unflavored gelatin
1 orange
A ripe banana
2 tbsp of honey

Preparation:
First, squeeze the orange. Next, peel off the banana and mash it. Afterwards, add the honey to the mashed banana. Then, dissolve the gelatin in water. Use a double boiler to heat it and improve its consistency. After you do this, warm up the orange juice a bit, and add the gelatin to it. Stir the mixture to prevent lumps.

Next, transfer the gelatin blend into molds and put them in the fridge for 20 minutes. Then, remove the gelatin from the molds, turning it upside down on a plate, and add the honey and banana mixture.

Alcohol is harmful, to make it less harm you can add lemon drops when mixing water, do not add cool drinks iMPORTANT,; Take half an hour to consume 30 ml of alcohol, because our liver need that time for metabolism.

I have asthma from childhood. I used inhalers to prevent asthma attacks, people say using inhalers stun growth. I weight 56 kgs with height 5 11inches which is low bmi. Is it because of inhalers. If it is what should I do for a better life. Thanks in advance.

Hi, first and foremost, I would advise you to use your inhalers regularly as advised by your doc/ pulmonologist. Simultaneously, you need to figure out the allergen (s) that trigger your asthma. Dust, smoke, pollen, fungi, animal hair, insects, certain food items like wheat, egg, chocolates, flesh foods etc, cold/ hot air, stress, acidity et al are common allergens that might precipitate asthma and the triggers vary from person to person. So, once you identify the right trigger, try your level best to avoid the same. Secondly, make sure your diet/ nutrition, lifestyle including bowel habits etc all are streamlined. You may take a good multi-vitamin with all essential b-vitamins, vitamin c, d, e, omega-3 fatty acids, and the essential trace elements including zinc, magnesium etc all. Learn to relax and keep your stress levels low. Its advisable to eat in moderation and less than your full capacity than eating to your full. Try avoiding tea, coffee, spices, chilies, pickles, extremely hot & cold/ chilled foods. Do consume citrus fruits/ vegetables rich in vitamin c as they help strengthen your immunity. Warm saline gargling, at least once daily, shall help protect you from throat related afflictions that often trigger asthma in certain people. Mostly, fresh air, dry climate, regular exercise go a long way in helping avert precipitation of an attack. Daily consumption of ginger tea helps a lot too, unless you are allergic to it. Inhaling the scent of honey during an asthma attack helps breathe easier. Learning well & practicing yogasanas/ postures and breathing techniques/ pranayams help streamline/ regulate breathing patterns, and increase the airflow to the lungs, increases its air capacity, exercises the respiratory muscles etc, thereby improving the lung function overall. It also helps de-stress and relax thereby facilitating breathe easily, and properly. It is advisable to learn the techniques/ asanas from a trained person who can advise rightly in line with your medical conditions/ requirements.
