5 Signs of an Unhealthy Heart

MBBS, MS (Gen. Surgery), M.Ch - Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, DNB (CTS)
Cardiologist, Noida
5 Signs of an Unhealthy Heart

The heart is a muscular organ that helps to pump blood through the circulatory system by periodic contractions and relaxations. The heart is one of the most important organs of the body so much so that a single cardiac arrest or a heart attack can lead to fatal consequences. Even so, a heart attack is one of the most leading causes of death in the country. But there are some earlier symptoms that could alert you ahead of time. The following are signs of an unhealthy heart:

1. Sexual problems - Erectile dysfunction (ED) is one of the most predictable reasons for cardiovascular conditions. Today, patients who are diagnosed with ED are also considered as cardiovascular patients. This is because the heart is supposedly not able to pump enough blood to the genital area. In case of women, reduced blood flow can hamper arousal and delay orgasms.

2. Snoring and sleep apnea - If one snores loudly enough to prevent their partner's from sleeping or resort to using earplugs, one may be at a risk of having a weak heart. Restricted breathing during sleep is connected with a host of cardiovascular diseases. Sleep apnea, a condition where breathing stops for a brief span of time, is linked with higher cardiovascular risks.

3. Swollen, sore and bleeding gums - Swollen and bleeding gums are not only symptoms of dental conditions but also of cardiovascular difficulties. Medical experts believe poor circulation of blood arises due to underlying heart conditions. Recent studies are focusing on bacteria that are believed to cause gum disease as well as plaque inside the arteries of the heart.

4. Heart Arrhythmia - Irregular heartbeat or heart arrhythmia is a common sign of a weak heart. It is characterized by both fast and slow beating of the heart. Restricted blood flow to the heart strains the electrical signals that maintain the normal beating of the heart. This is one of the common causes of coronary artery diseases.

5. Chest pain - One of the most apparent signs of coronary artery diseases is chest pain. The cause of the sharp, clutching pain in your chest can be build-up of plaque in the arteries, which could lead to fatal consequences.

Hello I am a female of 18 years old with height 4'10" and I am shorter than my younger sister and she is of height 5 ...
Your height may increase by following this - Height is important for our physique and it comes with a lot of determinants, like it builds our confidence, helps in our career, makes us look better, etc. Follow some regular practices in order to help you have a better height.- 1. You have to make your sleeping routine (8-9 hours) calm and undisturbed, as that’s the first step to growing taller. Reduce disturbances like lights and noises, and concentrate on having sound sleep. 2.Our growth hormone produces naturally, during our sleep, in the pituitary gland. Getting proper sleep promotes the production of growth hormone 3.Calcium: helps our bones to grow and prevents osteoporosis. Consume green veggies and dairy products. 4.Vitamin D: improve bone and muscle growth. Thus, deficiency can stunt the growth. Consume fishes, mushrooms and spend some time under the sun! Have purified fish supplements if you aren’t a fish eater. 5.Proteins: 1 or 2 meals should include proteins like eggs, meat, beans, tofu, etc. Proteins are building blocks for the body. 6. Zinc: chocolates, eggs, peanuts and peas could be some great source for zinc. Deficiency is zinc retards growth in teens. 7. Do Hanging exercise for height increase 8. Do tadasana, walking running, jumping exercise, swimming, skipping, cobra stretches, jogging to increase height There are some factors which can hinder growth and overall health like- coffee, smoking, steroids for more queries contact us.

Hi make a paste of neem leaves and apply on the targeted pimples. If you cannot get fresh neem leaves, try to get some dried bottled neem leaves, steep for 10 minutes in warm water and use as a paste. Apply pranacharya face glow on your face for 15 minutes then wash it with warm water. N.

Yu have to take Statin drugs for high cholesterol and You need to have diet plan based on your BMI & activities. Whatever we eat is metabolised by the body for the energy needed to do daily work and the excess is stored as fat. Abdomen is the first place to gain weight and last to disappear. In brief, Weight reduction can be achieved only by reducing the intake of food 1/3 of what you take now. And by appropriate exercise plans for each part like belly, thighs, legs / chest etc. To burn off fat. Some tips 1) Drink three or four cups of water whenever you feel hungry and just before eating food 2) Take boiled or raw vegetable like cucumber, carrot etc. As half of your diet. Then take 1/2 of your total diet as sprouted pulses / proteinaceous food like roti, cooked pulses and remaining with rice or other carbohydrates. Oil or ghee etc. Should be just bare minimum. And do aerobic exercises, running, jogging or at least walking briskly 3-5 KMs and swimming if possible, and in a gym if feasible. The most important is to burn off the energy intake by exercises. There is no short cut or medicines without exercise & dieting to take just as mush food as needed for your activities. The food we eat is utilised for our energy needs and the remaining will be stored as fat which leads to obesity. It is better to do some tests. A DIET CHART TimingFoods To EatCalories Early MorningLukewarm Water with Lemon 1 glass0 Tea without Sugar + 2 Biscuits90 Breakfast2 Rotis + 1/2 cup Paneer Curry330 ORBrown Bread Upma 1 plate + Milk 1 cup300 Mid-Morning1 Banana/1/2 cup Melon/20 Grapes50 LunchBrown Rice 1 cup (195 gm) + Mixed Vegetables 1/2 cup + Salad 1 bowl + Raita 1 small bowl345 EveningButter Milk 1 cup35 Dinner2 Rotis + Vegetable Soup 1 bowl + Salad 1 bowl370 Total1220/1190 Cal To lose weight, you must burn more calories than you consume. One pound equals 3,500 calories. If you cut 500 a day from your diet, you'll lose a pound a week. People who lose weight slowly, about 1 to 2 pounds per week, are more successful at keeping the weight off. You'll also burn additional calories if you increase your physical activity. You weight-loss plan should do all of the following: •Emphasize fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free or low-fat dairy products. •Include lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts. •Contain foods low in saturated fats, avoid trans fats, and limit cholesterol and salt (sodium). •Avoid refined sugars and processed foods. Some tips to help you lose weight: •Keep a food diary. Writing down everything you eat is critical! Noting how you feel when you eat will help you identify emotional triggers that may cause you to overeat. Emotional eaters tend to overeat. •Eat when you're truly hungry rather than when you're tired, anxious or stressed. •Eat slowly. If you eat too fast, you eat more than you need to satisfy your hunger. Your brain needs time to catch up with your stomach. •Plan your meals ahead of time so you make healthy choices. When dining out, check the menu online and decide what you will order before you sit down. Ask for dressings on the side. Opt for foods that are baked, broiled or steamed versus fried or swimming in creamy sauces. Avoid chips and bread baskets—they add unnecessary calories. •Stay hydrated. People often mistake thirst for hunger. •Eat breakfast. If you skip this meal, you'll be starving by lunchtime. You'll have more difficulty making healthy choices throughout the day. •Find resources to help you keep track of your food choices and nutritional values, and that can offer additional support when you need it.

Then leave, you have so much more to do, why are you wasting time. At 19 you shall be thinking of your education, career and on top of all health and confidence. You shall be playing some sport, swimming, classes for syllabus etc. If you will get attached to short pleasures you will be left behind of people of your age group. So you do not need any medicine, just think what is the use of some activity if at all it is not going to give you any benefit but rather will affect your health. Go ahead man, make new friends start loving your education and take care of your body.

I want to reduce my weight. I am facing many problems because of this reason. Pls suggest easiest way_?
To achieve weightloss - think long term. Weight loss achieved over short term, always comes back. There is a general approach and a specific approach as per individual patients metabolic profile. Try this general approach for 4 weeks. If this works then continue. If this is not enough then consult personally for further assessment and customized approach. With customized approaches people over 100-150 kg are also losing weight for long term. 1. Do not eat anything sugary or sweet. Zero sweetness in diet. 2. Eat plenty of salad in lunch and dinner along with other foods. 3. Do not drink any liquid calorie like cola or fruit juices. 4. Go for brisk walks or jogging for 45 minutes every day.
