Passive physical therapy (modalities), which includes things done to the patient, such as heat application, ice packs and electrical stimulation. For example, a heating pad may be applied to warm up the muscles prior to doing exercising and stretching, and an ice pack may be used afterward to sooth the muscles and soft tissuesctive physical therapy, which focuses on specific exercises and stretching. For most low back pain treatments, active exercise is the focus of the physical therapy programDepending upon the patient's specific diagnosis and level of pain, the back pain exercises andrehabilitation programs will be very different, so it is important for patients to see a spine specialist trained to develop an individualized program of back exercises and to provide instruction on using the correct form and techniqu. Most of us will suffer from back or neck pain at some stage during our lives. The good news is, however, in most cases the pain is not serious in nature and can be remedied. Postural related back pain generally stems from sitting for long periods with overloaded or tight back and pelvic muscles. For example, if your rear thigh muscles (hamstrings) are tight, when you sit they will pull the pelvis out of position and increase tension on the lower back muscles. This in turn overstretches your back muscles and with lengthy periods of sitting will cause pain. This is one example of many variations of postural related back pain. However, one thing will be in common, progressively developing back pain from long periods of overstretched and overloaded back muscles and ligaments. When you first start to develop postural back pain it manifests itself as a low grade ache which tends to be relieved with light exercise or avoiding sitting. But after a while the pain increases and tends to be there most of the time regardless of what you do. It should be noted that a small percentage of back pain is caused by more serious conditions like a prolapsed disc or nerve compression. Symptoms that suggest a more serious back problem are leg pains, pins and needles or weakness in your leg or foot. These symptoms need to be properly assessed by a Chartered Physiotherapist So what can you so to reduce back or neck pain? Firstly, break the cycle of sitting for long periods by getting up and moving around every 20 minutes or so and by introducing simple movements that can by Done at anytime, even when sitting (see below). Secondly, a daily routine of stretching and relaxing tight thigh (hamstring) and buttock (gluteal) muscles will help to prevent overloading your lower back muscles when sitting. Thirdly, reduce back or neck pain by relaxing the surrounding muscles and ligament by introducing the following routine 2-3 times a day: 1.Apply heat to the back muscles. A shower, massage or hot water bottle works best. This will help to relax the muscles. 2.Release and relax back muscles through massage, use of a tennis ball or foam roller for 5 to 10 minutes twice daily – purchase a foam roller from www. About a minute of each 3 or 4 times a day will help to recover the overloaded lower back muscles. I am 17 male I am very thin and short path I want to tall and strong now what should I do?

Dear you can easily gain weight and get a healthy muscular body by following these best things - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly for proper digestion - take 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (kali mirch), 1/ 2 tea spoon of jeera (cumin), 2-3 slice of ginger. Boil it in one glass of water for 2-3 minutes. Drink 5-10 teaspoons (15-20 ml) in morning and evening for strong digestive system. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. Diet chart. Follow it in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid soft drinks, western fast food (burgers, french fries, pizza etc. They disturb your digestion. Follow these exercises regularly and you get the goal of height gain: * first stand straight bare foot on floor, then raise your arms upwards then raise your heels of foot with breathing in, try to stand on heels for 10-12 seconds and slowlylower down your heels back on the floor and breath outthe air. Repeat this exercise 5-8 times in morning. *sit on the floor, stretch you legs together so that both foot touch each other. Now raise your arms upwards together with back straight, now move your hands towardstoes of feet and touch them. Your forehead touching your knees. Slowly revert back the arms and move back arms in normal position. Repeat this exercise 2-4 times daily.

I am suffering form left leg knee pain for the past 2 months. If I fold my legs and sot or sitting in the toilet. Then when I get after getting my left leg knee pain badly.

Knee pain is a common complaint that affects people of all ages. Knee pain may be the result of an injury or some other medical conditions including arthritis, patellar tendinitis, acl injury, knee bursitis, torn meniscus, gout and infections. Try some home remedies for your pain- - ice is useful for the control of pain and swelling. It can be applied to the knee for 15 to 20 minutes as often as every two to four hours. The swollen knee should be elevated above the level of the heart while icing. -activities that cause pain should be avoided temporarily. -if the knee is swollen or sore, the following positions and activities should be avoided until knee pain and swelling resolve: squatting kneeling twisting and pivoting jogging aerobics, dancing playing sport specific exercises will help you improve range of motion, strength, and endurance. It is especially important to focus on strengthening and stretching your quadriceps since these muscles are the main stabilizers of your kneecap. Core exercises may also be recommended to strengthen the muscles in your abdomen and lower back. Also maintaining a healthy body weight to avoid overstressing your knees are very important. -a full history of your problem should be taken and your movements assessed by a physiotherapist. Do regular exercise and follow these.Eat small amount of foods frequently.Avoid underground vegetables,banana,pumpkin.Eat whole fruits.Take lots of vegetables,whole wheat,whole grain,oats.Take fish,egg white,oyestar,seafood,soy milk,soy products more.Use healthy fat small amount.Avoid fast foods,junk foods,processed foods.Avoid sugar,sweetened juice.Avoid extra table salt.Drink lots of water specially before meals.Stay stress free and quality sleep.These will help in diabetes as well as in high blood pressure.

I'm 36 years old diabetic man having cough problems 3-4 times a year. It starts with sore throat and continue with heavy cough and didn't get running nose. Every time I used to take a prescription of antibiotics plus erthryomicin. Now this is too effective. It seems all cough is sticked inside me. Very low amounts of cough comes outside. Hi lybrate-user Healthy choice of food, proper workout routine can lead to a better you. Starting and following the steps as planned towards the beginning can be hard, but everything gets accustomed with time. Don’t ever overdo with any exercise and do as far as the body permits. Individual predisposition, natural abilities and genes should always be taken into account while implementing an exercise program. A slim person would normally have high metabolism than a not so slim person and can achieve better results working out only 3-4 times a week, 5- 6 times for the latter. We lose water via sweating, urinating and breathing, etc. Thus we lose more water during hot weather, even if you aren’t sweating. Don’t let your body get dehydrated, supply yourself with water and required fluids whenever the body demands. Do not ever skip breakfast as not eating well at the starting of the day can result in being hungry later on. Choose your food well. Snacking by sitting in front of the TV is the easiest way to hamper your diet. Thus, watch out what you eat. Burn up a particular amount of calorie to maintain the balance of your health. Settle for several mini meals than one huge meal during the day, as you tend to over eat while you are very hungry. Protein is the ultimate fill me up food as it’s both satisfying and healthier than carbohydrates or fats. Have more vegetables and fruits. Fill your stomach with more amounts of vegetables than carbohydrates. Include more fiber in your diet which would also help you lower your cholesterol. If previously you used to have one cup of pasta, try replacing it with one cup of vegetable and lesser pasta for consumption. If you are determined to lose weight, take time lose it, drastic reduction in anything is not a healthy option. Get quality sleep. Getting enough sleep may make you feel rested and full and keep you away from unnecessary snacking. Get to know portion sizes. Try to right-size your diet by using a kitchen scale or measuring cups to measure your meals for a week or two. Use smaller plates and glasses to downsize your portion and get satisfied with whatever is available in the plate. Switch your food habits if you understand it’s not quite healthy and nutritious for your body. Opt for salads tossed with pepper and lemon to add flavors to it. Try skipping alcohols and nicotine. As alcohols contain empty calories it gets converted into direct body fat. Celebrate but not with food. If success comes your way then celebration is mandatory. Do celebrate but treat yourself with assets or shopping and not with an enormous pizza or a chocolate sundae. Fill your house with healthy snack Exercise regularly and maintain the consistency. Workout with a companion. Keep a diary of your progress and check your weight at regular intervals.

My father has slip disc problem due to that he is suffering from intense pain in lower back please prescribe.

Hi I would want to know whether an orthopedic surgeon has diagnosed the condition or is it your presumption? Backache and radiation of pain to legs or lower limbs is often called by laymen to be sciatica or due to slipped disc, when there can be a variety of other causes for low back pain syndrome. It is best assessed by a spine or orthopedic surgeon by physical check and supportive xrays/MRI before labelling it as slipped disc which is one of the common causes where intervertebral disc between 2 vertebral bodies degenerates a and protrudes out to compress adjoining nerve, or nerve root, or into spinal canal on cord itself. This often heals by conservative measures if not severe, but fee cases require surgical excision, fusion of joint space and surgery on adjacent soft tissues, foramina of facet joints where nerve emerges impingement of nerve causes acute or chronic pain symptoms. So please consult for above diagnosis and advise, treatment as necessary for your father's condition. As of now, comfortable lying in bed, application of muscle relaxant creams, fomentations, oral anti inflammatory and muscle relaxant tablets are needed. Wearing of spinal brace, avoiding forward bending, twisting of spine are usual precautions advised. Best wishes.

Apple , paer, papaya in fruits and methi in vegetable are preferable in both heart and kidney disease. When only heart problem is there Dates, pomogranate, beet root are good to consume, and all leafy vegetables can be consumed in limited quantity. Yoga and some form of pranayam are good for Heart and kidney disease.Walking daily is beneficial in both the conditions. Hope above information helps you. take care!

What is Acne (Pimples)?

Acne is a very common skin disease that is characterised by the clogging of hair follicles of the skin with dead cells or oil produced from oil glands called ‘sebum’. It is a long-term skin disease and is seen to affect people who fall within the age group of 13-25.

They mostly occur on the face but it can also occur on the back, arms, neck, chest and shoulders. This can result in an uneven, bumpy appearance on the skin that may swell up and appear red. In severe cases, when the swelling subsides, it may leave a mark on the affected area.

What Causes Pimples?

The reasons behind pimples are not very clear although it is seen to be more prominent with teenagers and is more severe in boys as compared to girls.

But some factors that may cause acne are:

  1. Hormones: The levels of hormones called ‘androgens’ increase when someone hits teenage. Androgens cause the pores on the skin to enlarge and secrete more sebum. This causes the pores to get clogged, thus causing acne.

  2. Genetics: It is more likely for you to get pimples if your parents have had them in their childhood.

  3. Medications: Certain medications used to treat diseases such as epilepsy can result in acne.

How To Treat Acne?

It is usually recommended to consult a dermatologist who may give you several options such as-

Although it is generally a temporary condition, severe acne can leave a scar problem that can last a lifetime. A cosmetic dermatologist can provide a variety of procedures for acne scar removal or reduction.

Microdermabrasion, deep chemical peels, and laser skin resurfacing have all been shown to effectively reduce or eliminate acne scars. The right acne scar removal treatment for each patient depends on the degree of acne scarring, skin type, and other factors. A cosmetic dermatologist can recommend the procedure that is best for you. Some of the treatments are:

  1. Topical Ointments: Ointments are topical agents that are used on the surface of the skin or mucous membrane. Agents with Salicylic acid as an active ingredient can help in treating acne.

  2. Oral Prescriptions: Oral antibiotics such as clindamycin can be prescribed to you for treating your acne.

  3. Acne Surgery: It can be used to treat current acne conditions. It involves cleansing the skin and its pores of infections and excessive oil and clusters of dead cells.

Its anti antioxidant .no its not necessary . Lunch ? Salad of raw vegetables such as carrot, beet, cucumber, cabbage, tomatoes. In case you do not digest raw vegetables, either steam or boil them. Whole grain bread or whole wheat chapattis (Indian recipe) and a glass of buttermilk. It will be good to add some roasted cumin seeds, green coriander leaves, a little salt and some grated ginger in the butter milk. For more details consult me privately.
