I'm suffering from irritable bowel syndrome, my cbc, lft, b12 and endoscopy reports are absolutely normal. I'm taking one sompraz d40 tablet daily in the morning! Is it curable, Is it deadly or it will get increasing day by day, please reply!

Its not curable, it has to be maintained by diet and medications. Eat a high-fiber diet. Get insoluble and soluble fiber. Limit foods that are high in fat. Choose lean meats. Incorporate probiotics into your diet. Eat on schedule. Stay hydrated.

Come to pelvinic, new delhi. Stomach ache after meals can be due to structural abnormality or vascular issue. If pain is really bothering you then several investigation including scopy is required.

How to Deal with Diarrhea in Children?

Diarrhea is never a pleasant experience especially for children. Thankfully, diarrhea does not last long. Loose common stools are the most recognizable symptom of diarrhea. This can often be accompanied by vomiting, nausea, cramps and dehydration. If your child also suffers from fever and weight loss or can see bloody mucus in their stool, you should contact your doctor at the earliest.

Some of the common causes of diarrhea in children are:

  1. Gastrointestinal infections - Viruses like rotavirus and parasites like giardia are the most common causes of diarrhea in children. This type of diarrhea can last from 5 to 14 days and can be cured with the help of laxatives and antibiotics.
  2. Food poisoning - Diarrhea caused by food poisoning usually lasts for not longer than 24 hours.
  3. Food allergies - Diarrhea is a common symptom of a food allergy. It usually stops once you stop eating whatever you are allergic to.
  4. Crohn's disease - This is a chronic inflammatory disease of the digestive system. With Crohn's disease, the loose stool is often accompanied by blood.
  5. Celiac disease - If your body cannot digest gluten, you may be suffering from Celiac disease.

Diarrhea is highly contagious. It can spread through:

  1. Dirty hands
  2. Contaminated food or water
  3. Direct contact with fecal matter
  4. Touching a contaminated surface
  5. Diarrhea on its own is not a very serious issue. However, it may cause dehydration which can lead to a number of further complications. Some of the signs of dehydration cased by diarrhea are dizziness, dry mouth, dark urine, dry skin and lack of energy. Thus if your child is suffering from diarrhea, give him plenty of water and lots of rest.

To protect your child against diarrhea, all you need are a few lifestyle Ensure your child washes their hands well before and after-

Caring for Your Child at Home:

  • Make washing hands after using the toilet a part of toilet
  • Make sure your child drinks plenty of fluids.
  • Do not feed them foods that seem to trigger diarrhea.
  • Wash your hands often, especially after each diaper change, to avoid spreading bacteria in the home.
  • You should continue breast-feeding when your baby has diarrhea. Breast milk can help ease symptoms of diarrhea and speed up recovery.
  • Continue your child's regular diet and give more liquids to replace those lost while the diarrhea continues if there are no signs of dehydration.
  • Use an oral rehydration solution (ORS) to replace lost fluids in non-dehydrated children.
  • Keep all bathroom surfaces clean. It is also a good idea to flush the toilet only after the lid has been lowered.
  • Wash all fruits and vegetables thoroughly before eating
  • Wash all utensils that have come in contact with raw meat well before using them for anything else.
  • Keep all raw meats refrigerated or frozen. Once meat has been defrosted, do not freeze the raw meat again.
  • Food cooked like boiled, fried or those which can be peeled e.g. boiled egg, banana, orange, boiled rice, etc. can be eaten when out of home.
  • Teach your child to only drink from purified sources of water.
  • Do not wash pet utensils in the same sink used for cooking vessels and food items.
  • Keep an eye on what your child eats to heck if they may be allergic to anything.

I am really underweight for my age. I do eat a lot and maintained a diet to gain weight but to no avail. I constantly find myself going to the washroom after a heavy diet. I consulted a doctor and he said maybe I have a high metabolism rate. But is there anything I can do to gain substantial weight? You know proper digestion may help along with better consumption of food. Please advise me accordingly.

Dear you can easily gain weight and get a healthy muscular body by following these best things - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly. If you have any disease of digestive system you should treat disease first. For proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. Or take 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (kali mirch), 1/ 2 tea spoon of jeera (cumin), 2-3 slice of ginger. Boil it in one glass of water for 2-3 minutes. Drink 5-10 teaspoons (15-20 ml) in morning and evening for strong digestive system. Or you can take amla powder 1 teaspoon with water for strong digestion. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. I am sending the diet chart. Follow it in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid soft drinks, western fast food (burgers, french fries, pizza etc. They disturb your digestion. 6. You can try protein powders like endura mass, milk powder, soya protein. And creatinine for weight gain by taking 1 tea spoon added in milk once a day.

Hey. yesterday when I went to washroom I found blood in my stool. Wt r the possible reasons n is dere anything to worry?

Hi there. Fresh blood in stool warrants examination by a surgeon for piles or in some cases fissure. After ruling out piles you need to go for lower gastro intestinal scopy. But make sure you get an examination earliest possible as blood loss may lead to anemia. Take care.

I am 39 years old male and having ulcerative colitis for last 6 years. I had two colonoscopies and was found with inflammation in lower part of intestines. I am currently taking mesalazine (4mg daily), mercaptopurine (1 mg daily) and pridnisone (5mg daily). Over the last years. My flare ups are reduced but no major change. Hi Mixing two teaspoonfuls of ghee in a glassful of milk and taking this once a day acts as a liner inside the gut and will heal all the destruction caused by the high flow of Pitta. Hello. Dr.I am 54 I was suffering from loss of appetite, savior gas, booting and sometimes loose motions for many many years, some how managed with every season with local doctor. Recent developments is my family doctor prescribed Bandy plus tablet to wife and two grown up kids as single dose. I am person who slept that night with lot of relief. Again immediately after 3 days my above issues are returned immediately with more savior. As family doctor was away I took unknowingly Bandy plus 6 mg+400 mg tablet again for another two nights, I was again observed relief. Now 4 days over but morning after breakfast I feel discomfort in stomach more after lunch. I am afraid with out proper advice taking Bandy plus in morning, after noon and night? Is it safe to use this medicine thrice a day? If Yes how long duration of course, if no what is the alternative medicine of solution. Please.
