Since last two three weeks when ever I ride by bicycle for more than an hour there is a stress and tear on just above left calf muscles and it pains while bending the left knee if knee is straight there is no pain but when I paddle again while straightening the leg it pain just above the calf muscle and behind the knee, I have done cold therapy once I reached home please suggest a precaution or medicine.

Hello Mr. Lybrate-user, your description of the symptoms suggests to me that there might be a strain in the muscle which is bending the knee or a minor tear near its attachment. Treatment for both would be to to take rest from the activity which causes the pain for about 2 to 3 weeks. You should give some activity free time for the structure to complete it's healing process. If it persists even after adequate period of rest then I would recommend you to see an orthopaedician for a detailed examination.

Dear you can easily gain weight and get a healthy muscular body by following these best things - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly. If you have any disease of digestive system you should treat disease first. For proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. Or take 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (kali mirch), 1/ 2 tea spoon of jeera (cumin), 2-3 slice of ginger. Boil it in one glass of water for 2-3 minutes. Drink 5-10 teaspoons (15-20 ml) in morning and evening for strong digestive system. Or you can take amla powder 1 teaspoon with water for strong digestion. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. I am sending the diet chart. Follow it in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid soft drinks, western fast food (burgers, french fries, pizza etc. They disturb your digestion. 6. You can try protein powders like endura mass, milk powder, soya protein. And creatinine for weight gain by taking 1 tea spoon added in milk once a day.

It is ok. But better to take water after 20-30min. Because it reduces digestion properly. Due to dilution of digestive acids, and food remain for insufficient time in the specific part of the digestive tract. Due to that it is not get properly digested and nutrients fully not get absorbed.

Take homeoathic remedy start treatment with tuberculinum 1m 3 doses and after one week take baryta carb 30 at the alternate days, thuja 30 and symphytum q 5 drops daily mix with water twice a day for six months. And do exercise and yoga mainly skiiping ropes, strectching. And eat healthy diet.

Sir, I am 20 years old male. I had been on low carb diet (no rice, reduced roti to 3 from 4, eat only 2 times a day) for 4-5 months (march- august 2017) for weight loss during which my weight reduced from 75 kg to 61.2 kg .During this period alongside with dieting I started running for 10 mins daily but soon after 10 days of running I developed symptoms of low bp, fatigue, weakness, poor sleep ,mild hair loss ,complete inability to exercise ,poor cognitive functions, zero sex drive. Due to this I can not exercise anymore and since then these symptoms persisted till now. I had several blood tests namely CBC, TSH,LFT, KFT,SGOT, SGPT out of which all came to be normal. All these symptoms reduced for 3 months (october-dec 2017) when I was on vitamin d3 supplementation but reappeared since I had fever (due to cold) in winter (jan 2018) with new symptom of cold hands and feet and vitD3 supplements seems to stopped working .Also these symptoms tend to reduce a little in evening which did not happened before vitd3 supplementation .I get my 25 hydroxy vitD3 checked which came out to be 82.4. This problem seriously damaged my academics (one semester back and 3 back in next semester) as I can not study even a little bit. Even I had restored my previous eating patterns I can not gain weight anymore. I had seen many doctors but all in vain. I am feeling suicidal nowadays. please help! I suspect it to be adrenal fatigue. Should I get my ACTH checked?

Hello, Weight gain should be a gradual and sustainable process It is considerably slow as compared to weight loss as the challenge is to slow the metabolism. Generally high protein foods like eggs, tofu, cheese, milk and its products, fish, chicken etc gives you amazing protein quality, but provided you combine with complex carbohydrates like wheat, jowar, bajra etc. The more gradual weight gain, the better it is to sustain.

If Sugar free which is commonly available at Stores are better than taking raw Sugar if you are thinking of loosing weight. There are some myth that sugar free actually induces diabetes if continued for a longer period? If sugar free develops complication when used for a longer tenure.

Sugar free can be used if you want to loose weight. It is acceptable substitute of sugar but in limited use. Although no confirm evidences are there that it can lead to any complication but excess use of anything beyond your need may be harmful. As of now it is safe to use.
