Dark spots are primarily caused by zits, acne, blemishes and black heads. The percentage of dark spots can increase with increased exposure to the sun. So, apply sunscreen, every time you go out. And as a home made remedy use this formulation: 1. Take four teaspoons of buttermilk. 2. Add two teaspoons of fresh tomato juice. 3. Mix the two ingredients (both have excellent bleaching properties) and then apply. 4. Wash it off after 15 minutes. Hope get solution.

Can I use rose petals with sandal powder and honey mix paste on my lips whole night and wash it morning? My lips got dark. Please suggest.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hi, Healthy pink lips add extra charm to a person's face. These naturally appealing lips don't need regular application of lips balms or lipsticks to look luscious and healthy. You can apply rose petals with sandal wood powder and honey paste, but wash it after sometime. But several factors like the sun’s UV rays, smoking, caffeine and age can affect our lips and darken them. There are several natural solutions to lighten darker lips. Here is a list of natural home remedies that can lighten dark lips. 1. Sugar Scrub Take sugar and use it like a scrub. This will remove the darkness and dead skin from your lips and provide your lips a pink colour. Repeat this daily in order to get rid of black lips. 2. Beet Root Juice Apply 2-3 drops of beetroot juice and massage your lips. Beet root will make your lips pinker, giving them a luscious look. 3. Olive Oil Rub 1 or 2 drops of olive oil on your lips. This will reduce the darkness and moisturise your lips. 4. Lemon Juice We all know that lemon juice is great for hair and even greater for skin. It is also beneficial in making your lips beautiful and pink. Apply 2-3 drops of lemon juice on your lips. Stretch your lips and massage gently. You will see that the darkness is removing itself and your lips will appear to be soft. 5. Rose Flower Take 2-3 drops of rose flower oil and apply it on the lips. Rose flower oil will give you pink coloured lips, naturally. 6. Honey & Raspberry Take honey, raspberry and lemon juice in equal amount and mix them together. Apply this liquid balm on the lips and leave it. Honey and lemon will naturally remove the darkness from your lips and raspberry will give you the pink colour, you always wanted to have.

Marks and scars on face of pimple and chickenpox. It is on my face for a long time and its very irritating. I have consult many skin specialist but there is no improvement in it. please get me idea to get rid of these problems.

General Physician,
Hello, as you are worried and have tried many commercial products which do more harm than good, try these home remedies. Dilute one part apple cider vinegar with three to four parts water (use four if you have sensitive skin), and then apply all over your face using a cotton ball or pad Like apple cider vinegar, lemon juice contains citric acid. It also boasts L-ascorbic acid, a natural astringent and antioxidant. To Get Lighter Skin Apply a mixture of milk and banana on your face. 1.Before going to sleep apply a mixture of raw milk and rose water on your skin. 2.Mix baking soda with water and apply on your face when clean. Let it sit for 15 minutes before you wash it off with water. FOR LIGHTER SKIN 1) Apply a mixture of honey and lemon, both only one tablespoon, before sleeping and then rinse with warm water. Ensure a good night's sleep and then wash your face with cool water in the morning. 2) Apply mash ripe banana on face and leave for 15 minutes. Use rice water to help lighten your skin faster. Tomato and Lemon Juice. These fruits have natural bleaching properties which greatly reduce and whiten black spot marks. To use, simply apply a small amount using a cotton applicator (Q-tip). Apply the juices on the dark spots only and avoid touching the surrounding skin especially if you have a darker complexion. You don't want to bleach the surrounding skin. Aloe Vera. The Aloe Vera plant has one of the most effective natural remedy to remove black spots caused by chickenpox. Aloe vera efficiently nourishes the skin and enhances the regenerative properties of the skin. To use, simply apply the aloe Vera gel on your skin. Hydration. Drinking enough fluids (10 to 12 8 oz. Glasses) will make your body properly hydrated, which also enhances the functions of the cells in the body. Vitamin E supplement. Vitamin E greatly enhances the ability of the skin to regenerate and efficiently makes it healthier. A daily vitamin E supplement will help you remove the dark spots on your skin.

What Causes Prickly Heat Rash and How to Prevent It?

DNB (Dermatology), Fellowship in Skin & Lasers, MBBS, Masters of Dermatology (M.Derm)
Dermatologist, Gurgaon
What Causes Prickly Heat Rash and How to Prevent It?

The small, red itchy spots that appear on your skin during the hot summer months or after contact with hot temperatures are known as prickly heat, and cover areas of your body such as the neck, back, face, thighs and chest.

So, what causes this form of skin rash?
Prickly heat typically occurs when you sweat excessively, such as usually in a hot and humid environment. The heavy sweating along with the bacteria present on the skin and the dead skin cells causes the blocking of sweat glands. This results in the buildup of sweat underneath your skin and the characteristic bumps that you see. When these bumps burst open to release the sweat that is buildup within, it causes a prickly sensation, giving it its name.
Certain factors can also increase your chances of contracting prickly heat like:

  • Being obese or overweight
  • Sitting too close to a fire or heater
  • Being dormant due to illness
  • Wearing too much clothing

How to prevent it?
Heat rashes usually clear up on its own if the affected spot is kept clean and dry. However there are certain things that you can do to prevent it and these are:
1. Staying away from excessive heat and humidity - Heat and humidity are the main causes of heat rash. They cause you to sweat more alongside a worsening of your rash. Sitting in a shade or keeping yourself hydrated is the best way to prevent prickly heat rash from occurring.

2. Selecting the right clothes - Wearing cotton clothing in hot temperatures is one of the best ways to keep heat rash at bay.  Cotton being a natural fiber doesn't trap the heat, compared to nylon and polyester fabrics.

3. Keeping the skin hydrated - Keeping your skin cool by sitting under the fan or in an air-conditioned room is another way of preventing itchy skin rash from occurring.

4. Avoid strenuous physical activity - Keeping yourself away from the strenuous physical activity of any kind can help in preventing excessive sweating. If you have to indulge in strenuous workouts, keeping yourself hydrated is a must to avoid instances of dehydration.

Day by day my skin tone is getting darker recommend some treatment and diet to get healthy white skin back.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS

In order to enhance your skin you need to take care of your skin from outside. You may use a cream or moisturizer that contains Alpha Hydroxy Acid's (AHA's) like glycolic acid, lactic acid etc. AHA's exfoliate superficial dead skin cells and renew it with newer younger cells. Continued use of AHA's keeps skin in a state of continued renewal. This renewed skin is healthier, lighter and brighter. You may also opt for a few sessions of chemical peeling, particularly glycolic peel, from nearest approachable dermatologist. Glycolic peel utilizes a higher concentration of glycolic acid as compared to that present in creams/ moisturizers. The concentration that is available in peels is 20%, 35% 50% and 70%. Whereas creams contain just 6%, 8% or 10% of glycolic acid. I also suggest you to use a broad spectrum sunscreen, throughout the day. It should have both UVA as well as UV B coverage. Regular use of broad spectrum sunscreen would prevent tanning and also delay skin ageing i.e appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Some sunscreens are also fortified with vitamin C which has skin lightening as well as antiageing properties. Besides topical creams and chemical peeling sessions you may also take a few sessions of microdermabrasion to achieve the desired results. I suggest you to visit a dermatologist in your vicinity for more details and the needful. Regards.

How To Prevent Sagging of Breasts?

How To Prevent Sagging of Breasts?

How to prevent sagging of breasts?

Home remedies for sagging breasts

Breast sagging is a natural process that happens with age wherein the breasts lose their suppleness and elasticity. Breasts do not have muscle. They are made of fat, connective tissues and milk-producing glands, and they need proper care to keep them in good shape.

Yoga

The benefits of yoga for the entire body have been widely studied, and it is primarily a mechanism of toning the body and increasing flexibility. Some of that toning can occur within the breast, depending on which positions you commonly practice.

Massage

Massage your breasts at least 2-3 times per week with olive oil. It will help add firmness to the skin as well as improve the skin tone and texture. It will also tone your chest and increase the elasticity of the skin.

Pomegranate

Pomegranate is considered a wonderful anti-aging ingredient and can help prevent sagging breasts. Pomegranate seed oil is rich in phyto-nutrients that can lead to firm breasts.

Make a paste of pomegranate peel and some warm mustard oil. Use it to massage your breasts in a circular motion for 5 to 10 minutes daily before going to bed.
You can also use pomegranate seed oil to massage your breasts 2 or 3 times daily.
Another option is to mix 4 teaspoons of neem oil with 1 teaspoon of dried and powdered pomegranate rind. Heat this mixture for a few minutes. Allow it to cool and then use it to massage your breasts twice daily for several weeks.

Avoid loose fitting bra / wrong bra size

Some women feel that they would feel comfortable if they wear loose bra. But this is totally a wrong step. You are going to invite your saggy breast by doing this. Avoid this and go for the best fitting bra to keep your breast stay upright and firm. For more details visit us at www.malhotraayurveda.in

If the brand name of the cream is Kojic then you can use it safely for 4-5 months. If your cream contains kojic then we need to see the other ingredients of the cream to further comment if you can use it for a longer time or not.

I have black spots as well as pimples on my back. I used scar removal cream for 4 months but didn't see any charges. What should I do?

Diploma In Dermatology And Venerology And Leprosy (DDVL), MBBS
Dermatologist, Chennai
Dear Mr. lybrate-user, I am not sure who recommended a scar removal cream for your acne and black spots, they are different from each other. I would recommend the use of a sunscreen (to be applied once in 3 hours esp between 7 am to 5 pm) on all days. Please visit a dermatologist nearby as they will assess the grade of your acne/pimple and will start treatment accordingly with creams, face washes and if required Chemical peels. He/She might also start you on oral medicines if it is required. Please do not pick on your acne as it will lead to pigmentation. I hope this answers your query!
