Hand- advice hot fomentation. Gentle stretching of hand muscles. Ball exercises. Wrist exerciser. Leg pain- for leg pain, please follow the below advise: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

John Barbis, aging Philadelphian PT had a bilateral knee replacement 4 months ago. I have just watched him scurry though the snow like a squirrel and run up stairs like a five year old. He can sit on his haunches and he has been doing all this for months.

John says ???I felt immediate ownership of my new knees after surgery. But I had prepared well ? more my mind than the rest of my body. I started two months before the surgery. I did left/right knee discrimination exercises 3 times a day, I visualised the surgery, I visualised the IV going in, then going under and waking up. I did lots of mindfulness , the UCLA mindfulness project. I visualised my knees moving after the surgery and I imagined how they would move much more than they did before. I imagined that I would have pain, but I reasoned that it would not be pain related to any danger to my knees. I knew medication would be available if I needed it.?

?Having seen knee replacement surgeries before was helpful. I knew they would be bending my knees full range in the operating theatre and I knew it would only be swelling and sensitivity that would limit me post-surgery and this would be temporary and a part of the healing process. I knew the only way I could hurt myself was if I fell. I visualised walking normally as soon as I woke. I only used a walker at night for a few days, but I didn?t want use it as I wanted a normal walking pattern using my arms as soon as possible?.

?The new knees were all mine as soon as I woke up and I was glad to say goodbye to the old ones. I wanted to be in total control. I didn?t want anyone pushing on my knees. There is no reason why someone else should have to push on someone?s knee to get range of motion?.

?I knew there would be nociception, I knew there would be neural flares but I knew they could be made safe. I avoided the total knee education class offered ? it was scary?

?Overall, I worked on my brain more than working on my knees?

If you are having multiple joint pains, then I need to ask a few questions whether there is any stiffness when you get up in mornings in involved joints, which joints are predominantly involved? please also get a few blood tests done empty stomach from a good lab so that we can rule out common causes: cbc, esr, crp, serum vitamin d, serum vitamin b 12, serum electrolytes do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

In many cases physiotherapy to the back may help, like Yoga postures, learned from and expert. If this doe not help, or there is nerve compression, surgery is the only answer.

Take syzygeum j. Q -10 drops in 25 ml of water three times a day, acid phos q -10 drops in 25 ml of water three times a day, after 2 week reply me back.

Have you ever felt pain in your great toe or may be ankle/foot/knee/heel/wrist/elbow which was intially in one joint and over the time involved other joints too. Then you might be having increased uric acid levels. Diet is important in such patients.

Consume food less in purine content like cornflakes, white bread, pasta, flour, milk and its products, eggs, lettuce, tomatoes, green veggies and fruit juices.

Strict no to all high purine foods like meats, seafood, beas, peas, lentils, spinach, cauliflower, mushrooms, beer and other alcoholic beverages.

Take piece of paper write your strenghts and weaknesses. Then you write what three things you want without which you cannot live. If you already have then write next two and if you do not have then start thinking how best you can get it.(please do not want those things which are not feasable at this momments) considering your strenght and weakness. Do your real self analysis.

This is a general low back ache and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try which will help you relax as well will reduce the pain. Ice can be kept in the low back where you have back pain. It is suggestible to wear lumbo sacral belt which would help you to build the abdominal muscle tone which itself would make you feel better. You can also wear mcr chappals which would help you to have less weight falling in the painful back. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having back / leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having pain in the joints. You can do hot water steaming to reduce the headache which might be due to sinusitis.

Start shivakshar pachan chooran 1/2 tsp+ yavkshar 1/4 tsp+ hingwashtak 1/2 tsp chooran with warm water after food, twice a day, for one week.

I am 59 years old male. I have been experiencing pain in my left heel every time I get up from sitting or sleeping position. The pain lasts for few minutes and then fades away after I walk for some time. Slight feeling of pain remains even when I am sitting and when I press the heel area. Pain could be because of bony spurs in the heel. Get x-ray done. And wear heel cushions in the shoes, take ultrasound therapy and contrast bath in physiotherapy. It helps along with foot ankle ex's.

Advice... Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports Taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold).

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You will have to actually tell your problems in detail as to the intensity of your pain. Also by waist pain, do you mean lower back pain. Please tell duration of pain and mode of onset. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any leg pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias (electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Please also tell me about any associated symptoms like fever, weight loss etc. What medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. Also kindly tell me mode of onset of your elbow pain and whether there is any radiation of pain from neck region? also please let me know if there are any local s/s of inflammation like swelling, skin redness, or local warmth to touch etc around your elbow region> do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Hello do cold fomentation for 15-20 min thrice in a day. Avoid using computer, take rest for 5 min after working for 1 hour. You can use thin pillow while sleeping. In pain free range do neck exercises. Maintain proper body posture while watching tv/studying. Revert me after 7 days. Thanks.
