Hi. There are four main factors which causes acne: Oil production Dead skin cells Clogged pores Bacteria Factors that may worsen the acne: Androgen hormones, certain medications (drugs containing corticosteroids, androgens or lithium can worsen acne), dietary factors, including dairy products and carbohydrate-rich foods — such as bread, bagels and chips — may trigger acne and Stress can make acne worse. Management: Wash your face with Bakson's Facewash (wash your face with warm water only) and followed by CTMP, i.e., cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally Sunscreen Gel with SPF-30) after washing your face daily. Home-made remedies: - Take 1 tbsp of fuller's earth (multani mitti) + a dash of lime + bit of rosewater – apply this on your face till it gets dried up, then rinse it off. - Take 1 tsp of Alum (or fitkari), make it slightly wet with water and apply this on your wet face, spread it well; let it dry and rinse it off. Alum remove your excessive moisture or oil and it also tightens the skin's tonicity. Medication: You can take homoeopathic medicines – Berberis Aquefolium Q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice a day (and for local application as well) and Kali Brom. 200/ thrice a day – for 20 days.

No you should not apply Kajal. It's not recommended. Using Kajal can cause allergy, watery eye and itchiness. It can also block naso lacrimal duct during bathing or washing that can lead to infection. Commercially available Kajal contains lead that can cause toxicity and can lead to nervous system damage with very prolonged use. So it's better to avoid it.

Hello, Wash your face with Bakson's Facewash (wash your face with warm water only) and followed by CTMP, i. E. Cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally Sunscreen Gel with SPF-30) after washing your face daily. Prevention: -Take healthy food only and avoid unhealthy ones (although sebaceous glands are not excretory glands then as well!) as what you eat is reflected on your face! -Avoid taking unnecessary stress/ tension as it encourages secretion of stress hormone in the body as thus affects skin or any other tissue of the body. -Drink atleast 8-10 glasses of water in a day. -Take 6-8hrs. Of sound sleep everyday. -Don't use others towels, handkerchief on your face as well as never share yours. -Never ever rub your face as it damages the skin (even towel should be dab on skin softly) and break outs of acne get worsened! -Maintain hygiene, wash your face 2-3times in a day, changes the pillow covers, bed sheet daily, use cotton bed sheet only (try to sleep on your back). Dark circles: these are the most common. Despite our best efforts, they are difficult to cover up and even more difficult to get rid of. They are like a constant companion often making you look older, tired, depressed or even ill. Let? s look at some of the reasons for dark circles. The skin under your eyes is many times thinner than the skin on the rest of the face, thus making it extremely delicate. The capillaries under the skin around our eyes are so small that many a times, the blood cells entering them leak into the surrounding skin lack of proper nutrition, deficiency of vitamins and minerals is also a major reason for dark circles to appear make sure your diet is well balanced and nutritious. Eat foods that are rich in vitamins and iron. Include fresh fruits and vegetables in your daily diet reduce stress and combat fatigue. Sleep well. Wearing sun glasses is important for protection of the delicate under eye area. A good pair of shades will not only protect from harmful sun rays, they will also keep you from squinting out the sun home remedies-tomato juice mixed with a few drops of lemon juice is known to lighten dark areas around the eyes. cotton balls dipped in chilled rose water can help in cooling the eyes and reducing stress thus lightening dark circles. Almond oil or a paste of milk and almonds applied under the eyes regularly will reduce the darkness. So will cucumber slices and tea bags any queries inform me.

Does Heartburn Lead to Esophageal Cancer?

MCh HPB Surgery, Fellow, European Board of Surgery, MS - General Surgery, MBBS
Gastroenterologist
Ask Free Question
Heartburn or acid reflex is a burning sensation that is felt in the throat or chest region after the intake of certain foods. While many of us must have felt heartburn once in our lifetime, too many occurrences such as this could be a fair indication of esophageal cancer.

How an acidburn is related to esophagus?
Esophagus is the tube which carries food from the throat to the stomach. In the case of an acid reflux, the acid from the stomach jumps to the esophagus leading to a condition known as the Barrett s esophagus. This is a condition which replaces the tissue present in the esophagus with a similar kind of tissue found in the lining of the intestine. This being said, Barrett s esophagus doesn t necessarily lead to esophageal cancer.

Key symptoms of Esophageal Cancer
Difficulty swallowing is a key symptom of esophageal cancer. This condition is known as dysphasia. As the tumor grows bigger, it becomes more difficult to swallow food. Esophageal pain is also a common symptom reported by many patients. Loss in appetite and an unexplained weight loss are some of the other symptoms of this type of cancer. Although esophageal cancer does not show any visible signs in the early stage, some of the key indicators are chronic couch, indigestion and hoarseness of voice.

Key risk factors:
Some of the key risk factors for this type of cancer are as follows:

Men tend to run a higher risk of getting this cancer than women.
Esophageal cancer are often detected in people above the age of 55 or more
Chronic tobacco users have higher chances of getting esophageal cancer
Consumption of alcohol increases the risk of esophageal cancer
Obesity increases the risk of acid flux thereby, leading to esophageal cancer
Radiation treatment in the abdomen or chest area might also lead to esophageal cancer

How an esophageal cancer is detected?
Primarily there are 3 ways by which this cancer is detected. The first step for an oncologist to detect this cancer is to perform an endoscopy. If this fails, doctors often try a barium swallow on suspected patients and take an X-ray to understand the esophagus lining. If all this fails, doctors rely on a CT scan to detect this cancer.

How is esophageal cancer treated?
If a patient is lucky and the cancer gets detected in a very early stage, the tumor along with the infected cell can be surgically removed. Apart from surgery, some other alternatives are radiation and chemotherapy. A combination of radiation and chemotherapy or a surgery followed by radiation can also be suggested by the doctor. The treatment plan depends on the stage of detection.

Kindly help to make it lighter.
Neck may get dark complexion if melanin pigmentation of that area is increased or sometimes when the dead cells of skin on that area are not being removed naturally. * you are advised to destress yourself & wear loose collar shirt which do not compress the blood supply around the neck. Try to avoid sunrays & dust falling on your neck. * mix 1 teaspoon of mustard oil in 3 big spoon of gram flour (besan) & add 1 big spoon of oat flour in it. Make paste of it by adding sufficient quantity of water in it. Apply it on your neck for 10-15 minute. Remove it slowly without washing. This will naturally remove the dead cell of neck which give you a good looking neck area after few application.
