Dear lybrate-user, with seasonal change lung attacks are very likely. A sneeze can lead to wheeze! it means that cold can lead to asthma. You can use anti allergic tablets in conjunction with anti allergic nasal spray as per advise from a local asthma practitioner. Regards,

My kid is suffering from asthma and allergies. so, what must I do.?

M.B.B.S. D.C.H.
Pediatrician,
Asthma in kids nowadays can be nicely managed. Medicines in inhalant form can control asthma very efficiently. To start the decease is first brought under control with inhaled medicines (steroids + short acting bronchodilators). Later long acting inhaled medicines are used to keep the disease under control. The inhalant medicines have least side effects & act fast with very small dose for this your child has to be under a local pediatrician care. So please approach a nearby pediatrician as your child has to be regularly monitored.

I have sinus from many years. I consulted so many doctors. But it does not reduced. Please give me reasonable answer for it. Who to reduce it.

DORL, MBBS
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Faridabad
Main symptoms for sinusitis are thick nasal discharge, headache, watering eyes, forehead pain, recurrent infection of nose and mouth, post nasal drip, sinusitis, is nothing but a physiological disorder of nose which led by malfunctioning of aerodynamics of nose (temporary sinusitis, secondly it is because of repeated infections of the sinus (permanent sinusitis) sinuses regulations and air conditioning of the air which we breathe and to get the benefit of above we must have normal, well sized opened sinusitis and hence nose breathing is required, those who breathe from mouth, they have tendency to get more throat and lungs infections. Recurrent sinus infection, pollution, poor diet, spicy food, long term steam inhalation from nose, and allergies leads to thick discharge from nose. This thick mucus if stays in the sinuses, it leads to irritation of the sinus skin which is mucosa and this go on growing hence leads to permanent sinusitis this extra growth is called nasal polyps this is where patient needs surgical correction. If patient comes to nose surgeon at right time, doctor can revert his/her symptoms and surgery can be abandoned. Sinusitis if patient does not take serious steps to correct might lead to cardiac symptoms, lung diseases, etc. Once there are nasal polyps you have to go for surgery immediately.

The apparent and most common symptoms of tuberculosis are general weakness, low appetite, low grade fever especially in the evenings, cough generally with sputum. The diagnosis can be made by getting certain investigations done. If the tests prove its presence, it is completely curable by taking a proper and complete course of anti tuberculosis treatment medication.

I have a cough problem. It makes regularly in my chest from my childhood. I have been treated by many doctors but didnt get any solution for this. Can you suggest anything for me?

Firstly there's no lifelong cure for the common cold. Antibiotics are only effective against infections of throat and are of no use against cold viruses. Over-the-counter (otc) cold preparations won't cure a common cold or make it go away any sooner, and most have side effects. A saltwater gargle ? 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt dissolved in an 8-ounce glass of warm water ? can temporarily relieve a sore or scratchy throat. To help relieve nasal congestion, try saline nasal drops. If you have a throat infection, or a viral cold then do reply back for medications. Being also a general physician, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary tips taking into account patient preferences.

Homeopathy Treatment For Cardiological Disorders

Homeopathy is a method of treatment, which is based on the fact that symptoms of a certain disease, if induced in small quantities, may help cure the same disease in a sick person. Cardiological disorders are complications of the heart; they can range from various disorders, such as heart attack or irregular heartbeats.

Homeopathic remedies are based on naturally occurring substances and are given to the patients in a diluted form. These remedies trigger the symptoms in small quantities and heal the body.

The various homeopathic treatments for cardiological disorders are:

  1. Latrodectus: This treatment is used to treat symptoms of precordial pain in the body.

  6. Crataegus oxyacantha: This homeopathic treatment is used in treating coronary insufficiency in people. This disorder cause problems in heartbeat.
  7. Digitalis: This homeopathic treatment is used in treating cardiac muscle failure. This disorder causes palpitation, tightness in the heart muscles and a suffocating sensation.

I am suffering from dry cough for last two weeks. Can you suggest what should be done.

BHMS
Homeopath, Raebareli
Please take Bryonia 200 – once daily for next 3-4 days. Drink plenty of warm fluids. Drinking warm fluids helps to loosen the secretions in your sinuses so that your mucus flows more freely, making you feel better faster. Studies show that drinking warm fluids relieves cold symptoms such as runny nose, cough, sneezing, sore throat, and fatigue.
