Dear lybrate-user In addition to the routine pathology report that you have mentioned, additional testing (immunohistochemistry for ER/PR/Her 2neu) is required. Chemotherapy and anti-hormonal therapy are used in the stage of disease that you have mentioned. Exact decision should be taken after getting the IHC reort.

My age is 23. My height is 6ft. My weight is 78 kg. My question is that can adrenal cancer be detected with the help of ultrasound clearly?

DNB, MBBS
Oncologist, Faridabad
Adrenal cancers can be screened by ultrasound but if suspected mass or enlargement of adrenals then should further be evaluated by CT or PET scan, blood tests etc.

Sir am lavnya. How to control cancer without medicine? And what is the count for beta hcg if cancer is their?

MBBS
General Physician, Faridabad
not possible, Many different tumor markers have been characterized and are in clinical use. Some are associated with only one type of cancer, whereas others are associated with two or more cancer types. No “universal” tumor marker that can detect any type of cancer has been found.

She have a breast problem once in a month getting pain can't press, can't touch? What should she do to cure?

PGDMLS, PGDHHM, LLB, PhD Surgery, MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Gurgaon
The limited information provided indicates a condition called fibroadenosis. This is due to hormonal influence and becomes more during or just before the monthly menstrual cycle. Of course a physical examination by a general surgeon is a must to confirm the diagnosis and rule out other conditions. As general measures, breast support with a tight bra or crepe bandage can be helpful symptomatically. Painkiller medicines are of little help.

Should we monitor for the side effects of the medications that doctor prescribed or for their interactions with other medications for cancer.

M.Ch - Surgical Oncology, MS - General Surgery, MBBS
Oncologist, Delhi
We should definitely be vigilant towards side effects of any drugs. But drug interactions are not known to cause cancer.

I am 23 years old. Can I speak naturally after throat cancer surgery? Or should I go for radiation therapy.

By throat cancer we usually mean mean laryngeal, or pharyngeal cancers. The options depend upon the stage of the cancer. If early stage T1 or T2 vocal cord disease, you may be offered either laser excision or radiation. The voice quality is almost similar with both, but may be poorer with laser especially if the anterior commisure is involved. Also, laser may be repeated, but radiation cannot. For more advanced diseases, the options are between organ preservation i.e. Chemoradiation vs surgery. Chemoradiation preserves the voice & the larynx (if salvage surgery is needed then it has higher morbidity than upfront laryngectomy, but is not recommended if the cartilage is involved by the disease (in which cases partial laryngectomy or supracricoid laryngectomy may be done if feasible) or if the larynx is dysfunctional i.e. Aspiration and voice hoarseness due to fixed Hemilarynx then a near total (voice preserving) or a total laryngectomy would be done, with a permanent stoma. After total laryngectomy, voice can be restored via 3 methods: 1) Tracheoesophageal puncture (TEP) where a hole is made between the trachea & Esophagus and a one way valve is inserted to allow air to move across & produce voice 2) Esophageal speech: swallows air is burped out to create vibrations and sound 3) Electrolarynx: artificial instrument creates vibration & articulation is used to create speech I hope I was able to clarify your doubts. If you want to further discuss the same, feel free contact me directly.

My brother has been diagnose of cancer in the asephagus low 1/3. what should we do?

M.ch - Surgical Oncology
Oncologist, Hyderabad
The first thing needed is to stage the patient. This needs a CT scan of Chest and abdomen. If it is a localised disease the standard treatment will be Pre-operative Radiation therapy followed by surgery or Radical Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy depending on the fitness of the patient and the type of cancer. If it is metastatic, spread to other organs, the treatment would be palliative chemotherapy. Consult an oncologist (surgical/radiation) to decide the best course for the patient

Cancer effects, details prevention, and medicine, which hospital best of cancer in chennai?

Ex Sen.V.Surgeon/Research Scientist, M.D.(Alternative Medicine/tibetan/chinese/acupuncture), Vaida/ Unani, Homeopath
Unani Specialist, Moga
Hi dear -u should consult local staff for best hosp query in chennai -------------------------------------- cancers;(karkat rog)- are those dreaded tumors ----------------- which are capable of spreading to other body parts, either before or after surgery/ chemotherapy/radiology etc. Any time, immediately or even after 10-20 years. Types;-there may be some 20 types of classifications, ------ depending upon the shape/ organ/ structure-they appear. Ordinarily all these can be called as cancers, and in ayurveda--karkat rog-a common term. They may be blood cancer, bone cancer, skin cancer, breast cancer, ovary cancer, cervical cancer, lung cancer etc. Etc. Blood cancer;;-- when cancer invades blood cells, it is called blood cancer. --------------------------------------- causes;-different types of cancers may be having ------- different types of multiple causes, not any one, in some cancers--viruses have been detected. Adultrated foods, allopathic salts, hormonal drugs, chemical salts, paints, alcohol, smoking, constipation, unhealthy water, foods, uncompatible foods, excessive sex-loss of semen, industrial hazards, polluted air, acidity, arthritis, stones, unknown reasons etc. Are other causes. Prevention;;-- you can prevent cancers by avoiding its possible causes. ------------------------------------- symptoms;--generally pain is main symptom but mainly --------- depend upon the organs involved. Other symptoms can be -bleeding, obstruction, ulceration, fever, weakness, loss of appetite, indigestion etc. Etc. Early detection;;- is generally difficult. But ---------------- lumps may be detected, palpable. Suddenly found when ever pain or some problem is there ---------------------------------------- problem with cancers;;--is that they spread to other ---------------------- parts immediately after surgery-when cut or any time after surgery, may be within-5-10 years or 20 yrs. Results;;- some 80% die within 1-2 years, 10 %--live -------- longer for 5-10 yrs, 10%-escape death. ---------------------------------------- treatment cancer;;-- you may need 4-6 doctors/experts to cure a cancer, at different stages. -step- 1- diagnosis;- generally patients are referred from small clinics or town hospitals to big city hospitals, for complete checkup and diagnostic procedures, bcz only such centres are equipped with big machines/eqipments etc. ------------------------------ -step -2-;-- supportive/symptomatic treatment;-- this is required at each stage and step everywhere. Patient may need blood, glucose, vitamins, fluids and life saving drugs, pain killers etc.- all the time. So the patient needs to be admitted in hospitals. You may need allopathic/ ayurvedic/ homeopathic/ naturopathic/ home remedies etc. ------------------------------------------ -step-3-;;--curative treatment;- -tibetan therapy--medicine -cancero - course is the best treatment available so for, with almost 100%--results. It is a newly entrant in the field of oral medical cancer therapy, and is available with very few tibetan experts only. Most of doctors are still unaware of its use. With no side effects, it can be used both as preventive as well as curative in all types of cancers/ tumors. Its 6 month course or so is sufficient to cure cancer of any type, at any stage, provided the patient is able to take medicines orally. It converts cancers into tumors and then cures. It can be used alone or in combination with other therapies, if cancer is in advanced stage. -its pack is available in 3 forms;- -cancero-th+, cancero-thu+, cancero-thua+ -cancero-th pack is available at rate of rs 5000/- pm. --so a combination of all therapies may be required for final positive results. ---------------------------------------- -step-4-surgery;- may be required where tissues have become hard and degenerated and in irreversible cases or in cavities. ----------------------------------- -step-5- radiology;- may also be of some helpful in advanced cases. ------------------------------------------ -step-6-chemotherapy;- I do not recommend it bcz of its multiple side effects. If you use cancero course-- then you need not require it.
