There is evidence that certain dietary supplements and vitamins can help with certain types of pain. Fish oil is often used to reduce pain associated with swelling. Topical capsaicin, derived from chili peppers, may help with arthritis, diabetic nerve pain, and other conditions. There's evidence that glucosamine can help relieve moderate to severe pain from osteoarthritis in the knee. Do reply back for private consultation. And detailed treatment plan.

Failure is a stepping stone to success. All famous people have become great because of their failures: not one but many failures have made them what they are today. You have to learn from failure to make it your success. So in fact failure is your teacher. if you don't learn then it is a real loss for you. If you have lots of problems to solve, then learn to prioritize them and handle them one at a time. You will become victorious if you think victory. You must read a book, called ,The Secret, to understand what I mean.

What should be done to improve memory in old age?

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd

Ask Free Question
Because of your age you need to focus more. But here is a list of things to do to help activate and preserve memory: you should read a lot, do new things including learning a new language, repeat things as you do them either aloud or to yourself, try to remember larger pieces of information e. G. A ten digit phone number can be remembered by turning them into five two-digit numbers only etc, try to remember words by allocating more meaning to them, reduce stress, sleep well, exercise regularly, do crosswords, play boggle, attempt puzzles, eat fish, berries, especially blueberries, walnuts, drink green tea, eat dark chocolate, and avocado. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem solving from several angles. Do sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Consume less of fat and use olive oil or coconut oil instead, do yoga meditation exercises, play with your grandchildren or youngsters, even the computer game brain fitness is good for you. It is believed that even though many neurons die as we age, there are also new connections possible even when we age!

Dear Mr. Lybrate-user, you say your memory power is getting low, was it higher before? look at yourself and and your life objectively. Accept yourself and develop long term and short term goals for yourself. Your brain records all events happening around you faithfully, all you need to do is to recall objectively. To increase your concentration powers and mental faculties, solve simple puzzles, learn and read new things. Do physical exercises moderately and in your spare time relax and enjoy all that you are going through. Enjoy yourself and all that you do and participate in all activities with focus on the present moment. With regards.

Hi there ~ You probably have generalize anxiety disorder with claustrophobia. You may feel like your worries come from the outside—from other people, events that stress you out, or difficult situations you’re facing. But, in fact, worrying is self-generated. The trigger comes from the outside, but an internal running dialogue maintains the anxiety itself. When you’re worrying, you’re talking to yourself about things you’re afraid of or negative events that might happen. You run over the feared situation in your mind and think about all the ways you might deal with it. In essence, you’re trying to solve problems that haven’t happened yet, or worse, simply obsessing on worst-case scenarios. All this worrying may give you the impression that you’re protecting yourself by preparing for the worst or avoiding bad situations. But more often than not, worrying is unproductive—sapping your mental and emotional energy without resulting in any concrete problem-solving strategies or actions. Once you’ve given up the idea that your worrying somehow helps you, you can start to deal with your worry and anxiety in more productive ways. This may involve challenging irrational worrisome thoughts, learning how to postpone worrying, and learning to accept uncertainty in your life. Exercise is a natural and effective anti-anxiety treatment. It relieves tension and stress, boosts physical and mental energy, and enhances well-being through the release of endorphins, the brain’s feel-good chemicals. Any exercise that engages both your arms and legs—such as walking, running, swimming, or dancing—can be especially effective. Instead of continuing to focus on your thoughts as you exercise, though, try focusing on how your body feels as you move. Try to notice the sensation of your feet hitting the ground, for example, or the rhythm of your breathing, or the feeling of the wind on your skin. By adding this mindfulness element, by really focusing on your body and how it feels as you exercise, you’ll not only improve your physical condition faster, but you may also be able to interrupt the flow of constant worries running through your head. Many people find weight training, rock climbing, boxing, or martial arts especially effective as these activities make it easier to maintain your focus on your body movements—after all, if you don’t, you could get hurt. For maximum relief of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), try to get at least 30 minutes of physical activity on most days—or three 10-minute sessions if that’s more convenient. Anxiety is more than just a feeling. It’s the body’s physical “fight or flight” reaction to a perceived threat. Your heart pounds, you breathe faster, your muscles tense up, and you feel light-headed. When you’re relaxed, the complete opposite happens. Your heart rate slows down, you breathe slower and more deeply, your muscles relax, and your blood pressure stabilizes. Since it’s impossible to be anxious and relaxed at the same time, strengthening your body’s relaxation response is a powerful anxiety-relieving tactic. If you struggle with GAD, relaxation techniques such as progressive muscle relaxation, deep breathing, and meditation can teach you how to relax. Progressive muscle relaxation can help you release muscle tension and take a “time out” from your worries. The technique involves systematically tensing and then releasing different muscle groups in your body. As your body relaxes, your mind will follow. Deep breathing. When you’re anxious, you breathe faster. This hyperventilation causes symptoms such as dizziness, breathlessness, lightheadedness, and tingly hands and feet. These physical symptoms are frightening, leading to further anxiety and panic. But by breathing deeply from the diaphragm, you can reverse these symptoms and calm yourself down. Meditation. Research shows that mindfulness meditation can actually change your brain. With regular practice, meditation boosts activity on the left side of the prefrontal cortex, the area of the brain responsible for feelings of serenity and joy. Many people with generalized anxiety disorder don’t know how to quickly calm and soothe themselves. But it’s a simple, easy technique to learn, and it can make a drastic difference in your anxiety symptoms. The best methods for self-soothing incorporate one or more of the physical senses: vision, hearing, smell, taste, and touch—or movement. Try the following self-soothing suggestions when your GAD symptoms are acting up: Sight – Take in a beautiful view. Look at treasured photos, works of art, or funny videos online. Close your eyes and picture a place that feels peaceful and rejuvenating. Sound – Listen to soothing music. Call an old friend. Sing or hum a favorite tune. Enjoy the sounds of nature: birds singing, ocean waves crashing on the beach, wind rustling through the trees. Smell – Light scented candles. Smell the flowers in a garden. Breathe in the clean, fresh air. Spritz on your favorite perfume. Taste – Slowly eat a favorite treat, savoring each bite. Enjoy a hot cup of coffee or herbal tea. Touch – Pet your dog or cat. Wrap yourself in a soft blanket. Sit outside in the cool breeze. Give yourself a hand or neck massage. Movement – Go for a walk or run, dance around, jump up and down or gently stretch. Support from other people is vital to overcoming generalized anxiety disorder. In fact, GAD only gets worse when you feel powerless and alone. Social interaction with someone who cares about you is the most effective way to calm your nervous system and diffuse anxiety, so it’s important to find someone you can connect with face to face on a regular basis—someone you can talk to for an uninterrupted period of time, someone who will listen to you without judging, criticizing, or continually being distracted by the phone or other people. That person may be your significant other, a family member, or a friend. I hope this helps. Take care and have a lovely day

Concentration on work is important in all sphere of life. Effective study is only possible if you study with full attention throwing off mind all the irrelevant thoughts which interrupt in the process of learning. Concentration means to throw off mind all unnecessary thoughts and converge all the mental capabilities on a point. Normally the rays of sun do not burn a paper, because these rays are dispersed but if the rays of sun are converged on paper with the help of lens, it burns the paper at once. Similarly converging your mental capabilities enables productive study ? the power of concentration. These are the tips to improve power of concentration. Try to get full sleep. Take at least six hour rest for refreshment and relaxation of your mind. A fresh mind can concentrate more easily. Take regular exercise. Brain takes its nutrients from blood for functioning properly. Physical exercise speeds up blood circulation to brain and brain gets well nourished as well as brain gets rid of waste products. Physical exercise is necessary for enhancing power of concentration. Study in a place with no or less distractions. Your study place should be free from such things which may absorb your attention, i.e television, music, changing color bulbs, maps etc. Similarly study in quiet place free from sound distractions. Avoid multi-tasking. While you study avoid playing with other things. Like you study as well as texting to friends on cell phone or making hair styles or one eye on television and one eye on book. Similarly study one subject in one time. Have free mind. Throw off your mind all the irrelevant thoughts while you study. If you are obsessed by a certain idea, try to find a solution to your problem first. Stress makes it difficult to concentrate. Fixation of priorities. Fixation of priorities, what should be done first and what should be done next, is very important for having full concentration in your work. If you don?t fix your priorities and work haphazardly, it is more likely you start thinking while doing one task ?shouldn?t I do the other task first as that is more important?. This thought will not let you work with concentration. Make time-table for your subject and follow it. Take short breaks in long study. If you study for a long time, you get bore and can?t maintain concentration on work. You should refresh your mind by taking short breaks to maintain your concentration on study. Have interest in your study. Lack of motivation and interest leads to boredom and dividend attention so develop your interest in your studies. Have good breakfast. Your breakfast should contain items with high protein content, carbohydrates and low sugar content. When you get up from sleep, have good diet though normally you should take light diet. Don?t take too much tea or coffee. Tea or coffee has caffeine that gives you more strength for sometime but soon leaves you sluggish. Concentration Exercises. There some exercises which improve your power of concentration i.e. yoga, self-hypnosis, looking at a round spot on wall with full attention etc. There are books on these things you can study. How to improve concentration Focus on the task at hand: If talking with someone: ask questions; if reading a book or a report: ask yourself how you would summarize what you just read to a friend or to your boss. In general, avoid and/or eliminate distractions. Tune out everything else. The harder the task, the more important it is to tune out distractions. Do not try to double-task, this will increase your errors and divide your attention. Attention is limited. When you try to do several things at once, you necessarily have to divide your attention and thus concentrate less on each individual tasks. Use meditation. Several studies have shown that meditation can be a good brain training tool that affects especially attentional / concentration skills.
