This depression can be due to some diseases you are suffering and you have not mentioned it. It can also be due to hypothyroidism and anemia. SO check your blood CBC and TTFT. If these are normal you need to take antidepressants and meditation and yoga will also help.

Hi, I was using medication for Obsessive compulsive disorder from 2007 to 2013 and stopped taking the medication. Before few days I started to feel the symptoms have come again to my life it is creating a bad impact in my life. Iam unable to lead at least the average life which I used to lead previously Can somebody help me to whom I should consult to get relief.

Dear Srikant. Welcome to lybrate. I can understand. OCD is a neuro chemical disorder. Psychotherapy like behavior therapy and cognitive therapy, relaxation therapy, life style changes etc are combined together with medicines for a cure. 100% cure is possible with the above methods. In your case, you took medicines and did not use the other methods. That is why it came back. I assure you 100 percent cure provided you follow the instructions. The best method is what I gave you. Please do not delay. provide me more of your symptoms. Take care.

Last 6 months I am suffering from anxiety and also I am taking prescription from neuro psychologist now I am feeling better but my question is when I will stop my tablets.

You will stop taking medication when you get well and work along with a counselor to develop skills and techniques and tools to handle the daily stresses of life. Please combine the two and get the best results. Then as you improve, anywhere between 6 months to three years, with no episodes of anxiety, you can be weaned off of the medication. Anxiety is fear based, and it is an abnormal reaction to fear. These adaptations are not working for you and so the medication. In counseling you could identify the source of this fear and deal with that event in the present and gradually reduce the scare and face it with confidence. In the meantime, do aerobic exercises, yoga and meditation, have a good diet, sleep well and do not increase your stress. In other words; just be responsible, be respectful, and be functional always.

My son is 3 years & 11 months old he always repeat what ever we say same thing repeat he always like to watch rhymes he always sings rhymes in home we generally speak Telugu and English but if we say something will not focus at all and is there any problem and required speech therapy and we feel that he is not able to understand how to answer. At this age child is quote competent to express himself. It appears he lacks in this field. Alone speech therapy is not helpful. His wt 13 lbs is very-very low even if I take it as 13 kg, he is under wt. He requires thorough examination.

My wife was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia in 2002. Despite being on medication (risperidone 2mg x 2 daily) from 2006 till 2013, she has now stopped unanimously and has relapsed. Our doctor prescribed her soltus 200mg, which she declined to take. Things don't look good as my father in law, a doctor by profession, is in denial and coverup mode to further complicate matters. What is the prognosis from here on as we have a five year old adopted daughter and quiet frankly, I am getting weary of being a male nurse on 24x7 call since 1999?

U should take care of your self. Medical as well as psychological support your giving but you also involve lots than required. So stop over involvement. In medicine also you can change like if she better with risperidone, increase dose up to 6mg and add another antipsychotic like aripiprazole.

With the fast changing times, the attraction of a person towards other people are also changing.The blurry lines of differences between the definite expressions of sexuality like bisexuality, polysexuality and pansexuality have often roused the curiosity among many and caused confusion among the others. While the traditional approach to sexual orientations only deem heteronormative attractions, that is "acceptable" and normal, the emergent clamoring about LGBTQ rights have catapulted homosexuality at the center of a lot of debates. 

However, these terms are also closely intertwined with a rather binarist concept of sex and gender. On the contrary, one of the most dominant claims of modern discourse is that physical sex of a person is never the foremost determinant of one's gender identity. You may easily identify yourself with one or the other or even neither of the genders and consequently not conform to any of the set gender definitions. It is in this context that the terms cisgenders and transgenders come into play. 

Similarly, for those attracted to individuals who do not necessarily belong to either the male or the female sex, the terms "polysexuality" and "pansexuality" become immensely pertinent. Pansexuality refers to attraction for anybody, irrespective of one's gender identity. The pansexuals are usually drawn to individuals from all genders. Polysexuality, on the other hand refers to a condition of attraction for multiple genders, but not necessarily all. The polysexuals harbor affinities for a specific gender, which may not necessarily be male or female.  

Recent LGBTQ activism lays a lot of emphasis upon granting the due respect to as well as negating any stigmas whatsoever upon such expressions of unconventional sexual orientations. With the LGBTQ movement garnering greater steam over the recent past, more and more number of people are surfacing as polysexuals. In fact some of the well known faces from all across the globe may be counted among the polysexuals . Despite all these however, there are a few misconceptions that prevails all over.

Differentiating between bisexuality and polysexuality: Many a times, people refuse to register the difference between homosexuality, bisexuality and polysexuality. Either one expresses complete ignorance about these terms or tends to use the terms interchangeably without the slightest consideration of the existing nuances.

Insensitivity towards a non-normative sexuality: Often you may encounter people who not only are unwilling to understand your point, but would constantly discount the relevance of your sexuality. Polysexuality will only be an ambivalent jargon for them with no concrete reality and as for you, they will probably book you an appointment with the shrink.

Misconceptions about one's sexual life: If you have come out as polysexual, many might perceive you as a "loose-moraled" person with devious sexual fantasies and a highly promiscuous person. It is not uncommon to have a polysexual unduly shunned and discriminated against.

Hi I am a student preparing for civil services and for the last 5-7 days I have been getting panic attacks, Couldn't sleep at night for 3-4 days continuously also crashed my vehicle as a result, many times it feels like my heart rate has increased very much, my body gets heated and begins to sweat even under cool weather all this while I am trying to sleep or study, my negative thoughts/insecurities/anxieties other than related to preparation have overwhelmed that I can't focus on my preparations. Hi I will prescribe some harmless but effective flower remedy available in homoeopathy shops. Try to buy original medicines. Mix 3 drops of rock rose + 3 drops of scleranthus + 3 drops of white chestnut + 3 drops of aspen. Mix these with 100 ml water and drink it every morning and night.

Dear Lybrate user. I am sorry that there is no method with which you can reduce the harmful effects of your smoking. Tobacco is addictive. Cigarette also contains 4000+ carcinogenic chemicals other than nicotine. Nicotine and other chemicals can cause cancer of different types and areas. Throat cancer, mouth cancer, lung cancer, stomach cancer and brain problems can result. Over and above smoking may also increase the risk factor of heart attack and brain stroke. Please quit smoking. The best method is to leave it and continue with your will power. There are other methods like Nicotine Replacement therapy and pharmacotherapy combined. If you’re ready to stop smoking and willing to get the support you need, you can recover from nicotine addiction and abuse—no matter how bad the addiction or how powerless you feel. The first step in treating nicotine addiction is accepting that you have a problem. Confronting an addiction and accepting responsibility for your actions isn’t easy. But it’s a necessary step on the road to treatment and recovery. You should then consult a psychiatrist / psychologist who fill follow this treatment. 1. Detoxification using medicines. 2. Behavior modification with the help of therapies. 3. Counseling. 4. Medication to sustain and 5. Long term support. These given steps are essential for any addict to get effectively rid of smoking. Therefore, you need to stick to the treatment plan and cooperate with your psychiatrist / psychologist. Mind power building therapy, motivation therapy etc should help you doing so. Take care.

Hi, I am working as a Manager with a leading software company in Hyderabad. Mam, I have good professional life (I am managing a team of 30 people in Hyd) and reports directly to Executive board members. I am married, and my partner is working as a manager in a software firm and we are blessed with a kid of current age 5 years. The exact problem that I am facing is, unknown fears while my turn comes to present my content/ I need to speak on stage. To be very precise about my problem, I am not fearing of English vocabulary / content / the audience. I am very confident on my vocabulary, stage mannerisms, or my content and body language. But, What exactly I fear is my turn to present. I mean if I am the 5th person to present on stage, My heart beat will be increased from normal to High, when the 3rd person is presenting and it further increases to very high when the 4th person is presenting and it goes rapidly high when they are announcing / calling me on stage for my turn to present. When I go on the stage / when I actually start to speak, I can sense that my heart is beating to its maximum and I can even sense it on my shirt, My mouth gets dried, and I start getting serious shivering, and the other person who is opposite to me, can easily sense that, I am highly nervous / anxious. I am considered as a good orator from my childhood and have actively presented many papers in seminars during my engineering. I can recall that, I had this problem during engineering, but it was very minimum. But from the day 1 of my career, this problem started growing and has become giant in my head now. Kindly note that, I will have these symptoms, only if I have a situation, where I need to present in an order (Waiting for my turn to present). But, if its a regular team meeting, or unplanned presentation an I am supposed to talk, I will be the best presenter. This problem is currently hitting me to the core, I started feeling highly nervous due to which, it started affecting my personal life as well. I was once very cool, But now, I am getting easily frustrated, getting anger easily, shouting on my wife, kid and even to my parents sometimes. I visited a doctor 2 years ago and has suggested me BETACAP TR-40 MG, and prescribed to take the pill a 30 mins to 1 hour before the presentation. I tried this from 2 years and the success rate is 60%. Sometimes, I haven't got any nervousness symptoms after taking the pill. But sometimes, even if I take 2 pills also, I am getting highly nervous. Kindly help me. Thank you.

Dear Lybrate user This seems to be an anxiety and its psychological. It can be treated Psychotherapy specially CBT. This has become a habit which needs to be changed. We can also find the cause of the problem and the anxiety associated with it can be removed easily. Take deep breaths before your presentation (belly breathing). Drink some water also. Try to notice the thoughts which come in your mind when you are waiting for your turn and try to challenge them. Do relaxation exercises or meditation or yoga. You prioritize. You come first . Your life comes first. You need to look after yourself first. Use CBT Skills to change your mind to positive mindset. Look forwards/ think of strenth and not weakness/ if you are still having thought recurring you may have to take medication. For Delusional disorder and depression.

Make sure you have clearly heard the name, 2. Associate the name with the persons face, persona, actions 3. Repeat the name in following conversation. Ex. Ajay would you like to have coffee. I live in Hostel and I feel like I am exhausted whole of the day from last 3-4 days. Weakness is a result of lack of physical or muscle strength. If you are feeling that extra effort is required to move your arms, legs, or other muscles, it could also be a result of any disease, illness and too much activity at one time and not taking the food to match the amount of physical effort you are doing. Sometimes low levels of minerals (electrolytes), such as potassium or sodium also result in body weakness. Other important reason could be the problems with your thyroid gland. Because your thyroid gland is responsible for regulating the way the body uses energy. A low thyroid level can cause fatigue, weakness, laziness, weight gain etc. And a high thyroid level can cause fatigue, weight loss, muscle weakness etc. Sometime because of stress you may feel disinterest in your routine works. Since the reasons for your weakness are not known, I shall advise the following - 1. Keep yourself hydrated. 2. Get extra rest for some days till you feel more energetic. 3. Avoid watching television for long hours. Indulge in relaxing activities. 4. Avoid stress and too much physical exertion. 5. Take a nutritious diet with more protein items in homemade food like soya, sprouts, dals, paneer, milk, seasonal fruits. 6. Do light physical activity, meditation and yoga. 7. Take one good multivitamin tablet after food for 7 days.
