Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem-solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, consume less of fat and use olive oil instead, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning, at least, five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There is a new exercise called Super Brain Yoga, which is done by holding the right earlobe with your left thumb and index finger, and the left earlobe with your right hand’s thumb and index finger. In this position, you must squat down and rise up and do this for five minutes every day. There is some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with. If your home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect your memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that the family goes for counseling too. The following foods do help too: Blueberries, walnuts, turmeric, Spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, acorn squash, green tea, oily fish, boiled egg, turkey, apples, oatmeal, leafy greens, lentils, pumpkin seeds, avocado, cinnamon, thyme, sunflower seeds, and red wine. Avoid sugar and junk food. You may also include these noted foods that are good for your brain health: Brain-Friendly Foods MIND stands for Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay. But the MIND approach “specifically includes foods and nutrients that medical literature and data show to be good for the brain, such as berries,” says Martha Clare Morris, ScD, director of nutrition and nutritional epidemiology at Rush University Medical Center. You eat things from these 10 food groups: •Green leafy vegetables (like spinach and salad greens): At least six servings a week •Other vegetables: At least one a day •Nuts: Five servings a week •Berries: Two or more servings a week •Beans: At least three servings a week •Whole grains: Three or more servings a day •Fish: Once a week •Poultry (like chicken or turkey): Two times a week •Olive oil: Use it as your main cooking oil. •Wine: One glass a day You avoid: •Red meat: Less than four servings a week •Butter and margarine: Less than a tablespoon daily •Cheese: Less than one serving a week •Pastries and sweets: Less than five servings a week •Fried or fast food: Less than one serving a week.

I use to chew tobacco since three years. But know I quit tobacco how much time will it take from withdrawal withdrawal symptoms. Please suggested me.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Hyderabad
Homoeopathy has a treatment for this, which acts internally without adverse effects. 1. Homoeopathic medicine help in causing dislike and aversion towards tobacco. 2. If a person stops smoking, he may experience some discomforts which can be termed as'withdrawal symptoms' because of these symptoms, the person may revert back to smoking. Homoeo medicines help in overcoming such problems. 3. Homoeopathic medicines do not cause adverse effects. 4. Homoeopathic medicines are not addictive like some other medicines and drugs take arsenic alb 200---once daily in the morning.

My son is not able to read on his own and need help. He has Ocd. If someone reads for him he is able to study. How can he be made to read on his own.

BHMS, MD - Homeopathy, PhD
Homeopath, Delhi
Hello Sir The symptom you have mentioned need to be elaborated as he might need a therapy and the therapy can be decided after the whole analysis of the case. I suggest you to consult a good homoeopathic doctor near you. Homoeopathy has no side effects and it will cure the root cause. It will deal with the main cause behind this disturbance in reading ability in your child. Homoeopathic medicines are very effective in such cases. Tc.

Dear doctors, good morning. Do we have to keep our mind always relaxed and calm and happy?
Dear user. I can understand. Stress is part of life and stress makes you to perform better. But such stress never be continuous. In that case, calmness is more essential for your body to maintain the metabolism. Therefore, you should learn to be calm and relaxed whenever possible. But in modern day, due to the different types of stress, being calm and relaxed, in itself is a Himalayan task. Meditation, breathing, physical exercises, outdoor games etc helps. Take care.

Hi I am 33 years old, DOM -12/2009, in starting days me and my wife were enjoying the sexual life, but after delivery...
Some women may get put off by sex after a delivery. You need to be gentle with her and gradually coax her back into sexual union. Anyway since you have probably harassed her and she has finally agreed, I hope it is a permanent solution. If not please visit a marriage counselor and get some help. That person may recommend a sexologist, if necessary. I still advise you to be gentle with her and gradually induce the sexual desire by simple physical contact but approaching the erogenous zones very subtly. If done with unhurried and soft stroking she could be seduced back to those hey days early in your marriage. You can also openly discuss what is happening with her, and discuss these matters with the counselor too. Your discharge will be premature because of the long and forced abstinence but if you do it a second time soon, there will be a delayed discharge and orgasm. Now I do you know, if your wife has ever experienced orgasm, ever? I strongly suspect that she may not have and that she may have been brought many times to that tipping point but left high and dry because you have already had yours by that time! the reason I say this is that if she had, she would have wanted it more and may not have gone off of sex so easily. Now with your early ejaculation, she may never experience sufficient gratification. This is something for you to explore with a sexologist and learn some skillful means of bringing her close to and satisfying her till orgasmic fulfillment. You will have a different spouse altogether, in my opinion. So if you are ashamed for whatever reason, then this is something that will bring a huge blessing to your relationship with your wife to both your satisfaction. If you want to kill yourself for this reason without knowing all the facts, you are certainly not acting like an educated person. Take my advice and go fulfill her and do justice to meet her needs in all respects but especially in the sexual arena! you will want to live much longer with the fine times that are guaranteed ahead!

I failed in my class test in EC so I am depressed and I am go to for suicide Then suggest what I do?
My dear friend, life is too precious to loose for one class. It is very normal to feel low and have such thoughts, just hang in there and do not act on it. In order for you to be able to come out of this failure and negative thoughts it is important that you focus on your next goal and target. What do you want to do now. What is important and what kind of help you need to achieve your goal. It is also important right now for you to have a strong emotional support. Your parents, sister or may be friend with whom you could and express your feeling. May be cry and empty yourself. In couple of days you will start feeling better. Go out with friends do something fun. Another better idea is to go and volunteer somewhere. Visiting a ngo where there are so many people who are much less privileged then us will shift your perspective and will rekindle your determination and zeal for life. Hope this helps, wishing you very best in life ahead.

MD - Psychiatry

Consult a dermetologist because he is quiet old his immunity may be poor. His dementia will lead to lack of proper care for fungal infection and cleenliness so he will mneed local and systemic means oral anti fungal drugs.may be for a little longer duration. Take care of fungal lesion well otherwise it may spread to nails and other body parts because of itching. dont wait to consult.

You need not panic and seek any medical help but it would do you good to talk to a counselor and see what can be discovered about your past that seems to affect your present from 3 years ago. I suspect that the adolescent issues with regard to hormones may be affecting your ability to concentrate and remember. When the hormones play up, it lasts for a period of close to two years and during that time you could be influenced by three signs directly impacted by the chemical: you will tend to become aggressive and rebellious, you will become sexually active, and you will have acne and pimple problems. The hormonal imbalances may not only impact your memory because of the chemical but also bring some distractions that come with it. But you may work on the following even if the hormones kick in: Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably.
